The concept of loading a card with money for payment in the bar and restaurant is stupid and inconvenient, especially as we could not load it by using a credit card and there were no Bankomat at the hotel.

We stayed here in August 08 with our two children aged 19 and 22 who liked the idea of a family holiday in the sun. The hotel has much to recommend it: great swimming pool, beautiful surrounding gardens, charming staff. However the hotel fell short in some areas for us: a four star hotel in Italy should be able to provide fresh fruit juice and fresh fruit salad for breakfast instead of tinned; the bar should be staffed at all times (perhaps not before breakfast!) rather than being closed for staff meal breaks twice a day. Perhaps most disappointing though was the restaurant. Why no simply prepared dishes for which Italian cuisine is so famous. Everything was over elaborate - and not particularly tasty. Also the advertised gym facility was pretty basic - machines didn't all function properly. Would we go back? Probably not; at these prices we could have done better, although the Euro exchange rate didn't help!
