My friend and I have spend our first "romantic holiday" in Alsace. We have chosen the hotel Le Gouverneur for it's nice web site and nice comments. We really enjoyed our stay there. This is a very nice property, completely refurbished in 2010. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and cosy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast for only 8 euros/pers.! Free parking just behind and very well located in the historical center of the city, near restaurants and shops. This is a 2 stars hotel, so don't expect any mini bar or room service. But drinks are available at the front office. Only 2 negative points: the water of the shower was not always warm... and no elevator to get to the 2 floors. But in general, we loved this property and highly recommend it if your are traveling for leisure.

First time we stayed at Obernai/Hotel Le Gouverneur. Obernai is located near to Strasbourg and to some other typical villages of Alsace. The Hotel itself tries to conserve its historic charakter rather good but with some awful exceptions (ultra-modern Glassdoors, etc.). But it is a typical historic Alsace-Townhouse at least and you are in the Centre of that picturesque Village Obernai within two or three Minutes.
