Hotel Vatel - Nîmes

This hotel has a decent lobby but the rooms are old and run down. Carpets old and dirty and curtain not hooked on to the rings properly. It seems that the main purpose of the hotel is to train hotel staff. There were plenty of young trainees hanging around but they were all quite incompetent. After we arrived and checked in I told the hotel staff assigned to show us to the room that I needed to get bags from the car. He nodded and waited for me by the elevator to go out to the car and return dragging two suitcases and never did he offer to assist, all the way to the room. My wife decided to try the spa, which she says was not bad, but although hey had bathrobes, they had no belts for any the bathrobes and she way told that they had "run out" of the belts. The hotel is quite a distance from town and difficult to find. Calling itself four stars is three stars too many.

For a leisure weekend, nice place, a bit far from the center, but rather quiet.WiFi access for free, not only in the lobby but also in our room.

The dinner was very nice, great buffet. The breakfast was OK, but the service during breakfast was poor, unfortunately we spill a glass of orangejuice on the table, nobody come to help us...poor service...!!!!

A good out-of-town hotel with excellent restuarant.

Very interesting structure , usable for one nignt during the trip fom south Spain to Italy.

Hotel should provide tea/coffee maker in room.

El proposito de mi viaje era hacer parada en un viaje hacia Austria y el resultado fue fantástico. La época era finales de Julio y la verdad es que en el Hotel no había un alma. Quizá por ello el desayuno era bastante pobre aunque los croissants eran estupendos. El café estaba sorprendentemente bueno para ser un hotel (suele ser infame). Me dieron una habitación enorme, el parking era gratuito y con un acceso fantástico al hotel. En la habitación había arroz (Ritz de la Camargue) como cortesía al huesped. Punto a mejorar los baños. Cuentan con todo lo necesario y funcionan perfectamente pero debería ser en siguiente punto a renovar en el hotel ya que está un poco anticuados. En mi caso el hotel cumplio perfectamente con su cometido y cosnidero que la relación calidad/precio es adecuada.

An Oasis in a desert of service. I have never before experienced the level of service and attention as received on my stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left there was a staff member there to take care of our every need. The meal we had that evening was excellent and once again the service was second to none. If you want to experience quality and service at its best book in !!!
