The LOCATION of this hotel is excellent - just round the corner from the ampitheatre and about 10 mins walk from the train station. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. When we arrived (2pm Sunday) there was noone to let us in. I phoned the number - it's on the door and on reservation info - and spoke to the manager (he speaks excellent English which helped as my French stumbled a little having to explain we were waiting outside). He explained that he is not there all day on a Sunday, this could have been made clear to us on booking but was no problem as there is a cafe bar just round the corner. He gave us the door code and allowed us to leave some of our bags there and return for check in 90 mins later. We were given a map of the area with some restaurants recommended to us and places of note which was nice. The entrance area of the hotel is a little dark and the stairs narrow and dated, but the room was bright and had a nice desk space and window. The bedding was all clean, but the pillows were a little stained poking out of their covers. The walls are thin and my boyfriend was kept awake til very late by two people talking in the next room and corridor. However, we were only there for one night (part of a short break taking in Avignon and Nimes) and only needed a bed. For the money, it was absolutely fine for what we needed!

Exactly as described in the comments. The stairs are very narrow and steep but that is a small problem unless you have big baggages. Missing internet both in rooms and in the hotel. Public parking close by at 13 Euro/day. Otherwise the employees are very friendly and helpful and overall the hotel is acceptable and convenient

The Concorde hotel was great, it was so cheap yet in a wonderful location which was so close to everything. Our room was nice and clean, the only problem was that the bathroom door didn't shut (but we just pushed a chair up to it) and the walls were PAPER THIN. You could hear EVERYTHING going on in the next rooms if you had noisy neighbours like us. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel felt very safe. I would recommend the hotel if you don't mind a bit of noise- because other than that it was absolutely fine!

I don't think that Venere set me up with the cheapest room available. Having my own TV, shower, and WC was nice, but not crucial.

Needs modernising, poor by UK standards, bedding and bed clean and comfortable. Owner extremely helpful and always cleaning. Was concerned about some of the previous comments this year dont know how true they were. Beware of the stairs spiral. Would maybe suit backpackers not child friendly in the layout. You get what you pay for

If the spaciousness is low - you can't expect halls from a small hotel. Yet, the atmosphere is very friendly - we recommend Concorde!

This hotel is really great if you want to be out all day, visit everything Nimes has to offer and come back in the evening/night. ACCESABILITY It's only a 10 minutes walk from the train station and easy to find by map. The Arena is located 150 metres up ahead and restaurants, boulangeries, bistros and supermarkets are locates closeby. You get an entrance code which enables you to get back to the hotel whenever you want after closing time. STAFF The staff is very helpful (I even got a free karate lesson, haha) English, apart from French ofcourse, is very well spoken. ROOMS The rooms aren't spacious but big enough to walk freely. Shower and toilet are clean and working properly. Room got cleaned every day. Walls are quite thin and in the morning a car cleaning the city streets makes quite a noise. This didn't really effect my stay though. CITY AND SITES Since the hotel is situated in the city centre, everything is easy to reach. Nimes has a lot to offer, especially to people who adore Roman culture and history. Busses depart frequently, but you might not need them since the centre covers only a small area. Big enough to have a lot of fun though. VERDICT Concorde really is a great place to stay when you want to visit Nimes. I stayed for 3 nights in a triple room (actually had a double bed and a bunk bed) on the first floor. I got to Nimes by train. I really want to thank the owners of the hotel for my lovely stay. PS... If you want to visit the Pont du Gard there's a bus that leads you to antoher bus which will get you there. If you also stay at Avignon during your vacation it's better to take the bus there since it will bring you directly to the Pont du Gard site.

Excellent value for money. Hotel staff are very friendly and can recommend sites and keep travel information for guests. They made my holiday very enjoyable. Decor of rooms was dated but very clean and the hotel was in a great location. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those travelling on a budget.

The owner of the hotel was very friendly and helpful, gave us lot of advice on where to go. Apart from a noise from the street in the early morning everything ok.

The reception opened at 4pm (which we discovered upon arrival - though it gave us time to explore) but we were greeted by the proprietor who was probably more well versed in English than I am, had an excellent knowledge of the local area and was very helpful overall. The prices of the rooms were as designated on Venere, though much to our surprise there were also (admittedly quite small) ensuites! We stayed as a group of 4, though split over several stories highlighted the exceedingly castle-like spiral staircase (a pretty effective defence against us English). Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in the epicenter of Nimes, minutes walk from supermarkets such as Monoprix and the other prominent historical sights, i.e. the amphitheatre. Only notable problem is the seemingly paper-thin walls, so if you have small children or inebriated students as neighbors, be aware and don't be afraid to knock on the partition! Again, this hotel is a fantastic place of residence and a definate boon to any small group/family

First time in Nimes - great city. Great hotel - very welcoming, great location, very friendly owner gave us map and offered plenty of suggestions of where to go.This was a stopover on our way to the coast but we wish we had stopped longer. For the price the Concorde would be very hard to beat.

Very very good value right in the heart of Nimes. The man at the desk gave lots of useful info about Nimes. Although we would not have expected much for this price, the hot water for the room had been turned off and we had to turn it on to use it, and the shower and sink leaked into the carpet.

Their reception didn't open until 5 pm. It would be nice if they would inform us of that on the website, and/or send you the code when you make a reservation to allow you to store your bags while waiting for reception to open.
