The hotel César enjoys a central location in Nîmes, a few steps from the train station, on the beautiful Feuchères Avenue, which leads to the Esplanade with its majestic arenas, a Roman amphitheater built more than 2000 years ago.
From there, you will discover the pedestrian area of Nîmes' historic center, called the Ecusson, a real labyrinth of streets with ancient houses, museums, squares and fountains. You will also have the opportunity to visit another Antic monument: the Maison Carrée, which is an ancient Roman forum.
The new owners, Barbara and Arnaud, will give you a warm welcome in this city hotel boasting wrought iron balconies and walls made of Gard stone kissed by the sun of Nîmes.
The hotel reception desk is open 24-hour a day and there is always a concierge at night you.

Had to cancel my stay due to an auto accident. Staff was very understanding and allowed the late cancellation. Great place to stay near the train station especially if you are in transit since expres train to airport leaves from nearby Termini staion every half hour.

Great location and within close proximity to the train station. Staff are friendly and warm

The owners were wonderful; they helped sort out a misunderstanding at the nearby train station and provided information on the area. The room was very large - we booked the quad for two people, as there was little price differential between it and the double, and the room was nicely updated and clean. The bath had two washbasins and a shower which was not very hot, but I didn't expect otherwise. It's moments outside the Nimes train station and a short, simple walk to the old quarter of the city including the arena and Maison Carree. Overall a lovely stay and I would recommend the Cesar to anyone travelling to Nimes.

Two twin rooms, one is located on the first floor, with a very nice balcony facing the boulevard. Another twin room is on the 3nd floor, but without balcony, which seems less cozy. But, in general, they both are nice. Yes, it's our first time stayed at hotel Cesar

Hotel is very well located for access to trains and buses and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Short walk to the Arene and then on to Maison Carree and the Tour Magne and gardens. The centre of town is clean and very attractive and easy to walk around. Good retaurants. Very good value for money.

I stayed at the Hotel Cesar for 3 nights. Location wise it could not have been better, right next to where the airport bus drops you off and only a 5/10 minute walk away from the Ampitheatre and city centre. I arrived at 11am and my room (a superior single) was ready, it was small but very comfortable and SPOTLESSLY clean. The whole hotel had a feeling of freshness and cleanliness about it. The breakfast was continental style which is ok, it cost 6 euros extra and was worth it if only for the convenience. I would reccomment this hotel to everyone I know.

Switzerland, Aug 2008
We were a group of eight cyclists - four couples. The staff were friendly and helpful and the value for money probably good. My room was certainly fine, the bed comfortable and the A/C worked. However, my friends were not so happy, but I cannot verify their complaints. One couply said the room was stuffy, another said the WC/shower was tiny, another that the A/C was defective, etc. etc. My conclusion was I should not have risked a ** hotels on this group. My fault. For budget hotel, it was OK.

Excellent value, including breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean with separate bathroom and toilet. Although by the station, difficult to get to the first time by car because of the one-way system but it is signposted thankfully. Convenient (if expensive) underground public car park just down the street. and excellent location to just walk into the town and the attractions.

Hey what more could you ask for in Nimes, easy to find, and easy to get away from, as the hotel is so close to the Bus station and the Train station, I'd stay there again by choice for sure!!

Friendly staff who were helpful. The rooms were clean but basic. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet, no disruption from other guests or night time traffic. Overall happy with the value for money.

The hotel needs an immediate refurbishment. The room was cramped and in need of a good clearout, enlarging, modernising and redecorating NOW. Breakfast was poor with tiny croissants and hard bread. No check was made on the availability of coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location for the town was good.

Hotel was excellent value for money. Typical older style building and our room had lovely balcony to sit out on. Location perfect literally only two minutes walk from main town centre and attractions. Parking can be problem but we managed to find space outside hotel on both nights and free between 7 pm and 9am. Because its on busy road it could be a little noisy at night.

It was a wonderful hotel to stay in. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room faced the courtyard with a big window to let the light and air in my room. The only problem was one of the other properties on the courtyard was doing construction but I assume that will end at some point. The hotel itself is very quiet. It was a very central place to stay. Only one block to the Arena and old city. The room was not huge but perfectly suitable. Great place for families, couples, or the single traveler. I will be staying again.

We would definite recommend this hotel and will be returning there ourselves. The christmas markets were grand but Avignon had the edge. Got a train there and spent a very pleasant day looking around the palace and christmas market.

This was great for getting in late at night 8.30pm from the train with children. Excellent for walking to the main attractions and all over Nimes really. Only a short distance to the arena so you stroll to have dinner by it at night. Nothing bad could be said about this hotel except for the toilet being rather close to one of the beds. would recommend a stay here to others and would not hesitate to stay here again ourselves.

Hotel Cesar is excellent location for catching a train or bus. It is not that far of a wlak to the main sights of Nimes. I was a good basic 2 star hotel for 50 Euros. At that price you can't ask for much more.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is directly opposite the rail station, beside a couple of cafes, right beside the bus stop for the bus to the airport. It is a very quiet spot. The rail station is a very grand building at the end of a very grand and beautiful wide tree lined street that leads immediately to the area near the arena and then the centre of Nimes. No need for anything other than walking to enjoy Nimes once you arrive, and what a beautiful and interesting city it is. And it is worth being there on a Thursday, when there is music all over the place - Nimes Jeudi and a thoroughly enjoyable passagiata, if that is the right word, to be enjoyed from the various cafes in the centre beyond the Roman Arena. Buy one ticket for the three main Roman attractions. The owners of Cesar Hotel are a very nice young couple and very welcoming.

A great location in Nimes, just a few seconds from the railway, perfect for arriving late in the day/at night. the rooms were as expected for a 2 star hotel, clean, tidy, not too big. the beds were slightly uncomfortable and one was uneven, but not noticably. the poeple were very nice, and the only negative was being woken up by construction in the building next door, which couldnt be helped.
