The building was under construction which detracted a bit from the experience but not much. Our room was an ocean view room but we didn't have a balcony like most of the ocean view rooms, ours had a concrete barrier that blocked our view of the beach slightly. The staff was amazing and the room was beautiful. Overall it was an excellent experience, just would have rather had a room on a lower floor with the normal balcony.

The hotel is very nice and the location is perfect. the only bad thing is the breakfast. you have to pay for it 12 euros but you will be charged as extra if you want a cappuccino or an espresso.

Our bedroom was very small but well furnished and recently refurbished. When I booked this was the only room I could find on the internet. I would not stay in a city facing room again.. missed a balcony and sea veiw. My big complaint was the noise coming from large fans located near to our bedroom window and although there was air conditioning in the room it didn't seem to work properly.. we had it set at 10 degress but the room still got hot and stuffy at night. The hotel lacks a bar .. sometimes we would have liked to stay in the hotel for a drink but had to go out to find a bar. Facilities poor ..nothing to do in the hotel. Felt hotel was just a base. Needs tea/coffee making facility in bedroom. Restaurant and service excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at the West End. The one problem we encountered was that although I booked a room with 2 beds, I was given a room with only 1 bed and at first, the best they offered was to roll in a cot. I was not happy. A few minutes later, I was told that another room became available with two beds. It was an upgraded room with balcony facing the sea and they moved me at no additional cost. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Good value for money but breakfast was ridiculous at 19 euros. We ate breakfast as one of the bistros on the promenade for 7 euros. Rooms appear to have been updated and some work is still being done. Hotel rooms were clean with comfortable bedding. Very nice bellman.

The hotel has an incredible view of the Promenade des Anglais and overlooks the water. The decor is a little outdated but the rooms are spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff are friendly, helpful, and speak perfect English. Over all a great place to stay!

Hotel is really nice and location is good ,yet the price is also high .And you can walk any time along Promenade of Anglais .And it is only 15 minutes on foot from hotel to TGV train station. We also found some nice hotels in the nearby . if you have a Nice map in hand, you can find some nice and good location hotel.

If you ignore the rude staff, deceptive practices, and overpriced sub-standard rooms you might find some satisfaction in this hotel. Grossly misrepresented hotel. It is closer to a 2 star than a 4 star. The staff was HORRIBLE!! One staffer was extremely rude and lied to us about our room. We were moved twice ubtil we figured out that they tried to put us in a lower grade room than what we reserved an paid for.We reserved a ocean view deluxe room and were given a standard room facing a wall. It was 300 Euros a night! After complaining they gave us a room with a balcony with a barely visible ocean view and a classic room When asked they told us we were in the reserved room- without regard for the fact that the room classes were clearly marked on a list at the counter. The rooms were filthy and the building is in extreme dis-repair. If it were not for the Vieux Nice and the wonderful time with my family, this place would have completely destroyed our impression of Nice. I recommend the Negresco right next door. Seriously- unless they have reduced their prices next to nothing I would avoid this place.

The clientale would be middle - the service provided by all staff was excellent - we had two small children and the staff could not have been nicer to us in every way - the service for the meal was very good - and the food was very good indeed - for a Hotel restaurant it was in fact excellent.

Hotel position perfect. Nice hotel but rooms rather small for the price charged. Would consider staying again if the prices were more in keeping wiht the room size.

The hotel is in a great location. It's right on the seafront and just a short walk from the old town. The SNCF train station is about 20 minutes walk away. Lovely old hotel. My only crib is that the carpet in the lobby was a bit dingy and that was a bit of a turn off.

I walked into the hotel, tired and jetlagged, and was offered an upgrade. These people know how to pamper and take care of travellers. One of the best hotels due to the service I received.

The hotel has a very nice location along the Promenade des anglais, the concierge was helpful and the staff were friendly. But the services offered were not satisfactory. The breakfast was very low quality and expensive (20EUR/person), the room was very small, there was no private beach as mentioned in the website, we had to pay for the beach with a small discount. Overall we were not satisfied with the price/quality ratio.

This was a very nice hotel, perhaps a bit overpriced but it was during the high turist season (july). The location is excellent, right on the thriving and lively beach front blvd. The hotel is spacious and very well accomadated. The food is very expensive, but there are cheaper restaurants very close by. Not recommended for couples or families on a budget.

The service and hotel staff are well recommended. Highly efficient. However, the hotel and facilities are a bit tired and urgent renovation/cosmetic changes needed for the rooms. They can beat competition with fresh new rooms. The carpets need changing. The chef too needs inspiration! Overall - Nice is a happy place and good for young family but not for older teenagers that are not into sea side pursuits. The architecture is amazing.

The West End Hotel was a good experience once we were accomodated in the right suite, they had a great welcoming gift for our Anniverary celebration and also a free upgrade to a beautiful suite, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Excellent location, competent staff and the room was recently renovated and quite spacious. Construction work on a room down the hall undergoing renovation started around 7:30 AM but wasn't too distracting since I needed to be up and about anyway. Will definitely stay here again!

Sunday morning at 11.00 when a lot of clients want to check-out, there was just one receptionist working (who had to answer the phone as well) with the result that there was a long queue in front..... The shower and room size are very poor for a so called Deluxe Room!

The hotel did not have the qualities I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The desk staff were not fluent in English, the concierge desk was not staffed and the the stairs were in dismal shape with peeling paint and extremely worn carpet. The hotel was just not very welcoming compared to the other places that we stayed.
