This was an excellent choice of Hotel. The location was very central. Only a short walk from the station and only a short walk to the centre of Nice. The front desk was very helpful. Breakfast in the garden was a great start to the day. Everything about the Hotel was first class.

Hotel was let down by dreary decor.Reception area painted grey. Staff pleasant. Room was very clean but poorly decorated & sparsely furnished. There was no wardrobe - just a shelved area screened by a curtain.Fridge & tea making facilites provided .Air conditioning very poor. Breakfast was basic for the price. The garden area was in need of some attention. Overall we were disappointed & would not stay again.

We have been in Nice many times, , but this was the first time at this hotel, and we liked it very much. We liked to come back next year, then with our son and daughter in law, somthinig we already have told them.

The staff were wonderful. Very warm, helpful and friendly. We asked for advice on a tour of monaco and surrounding area and they provided good information. There was an espresso machine in the lobby, which was very nice. We found out after we checked in, this is one of the best boutique hotels in Europe. Nice to know, and deserved. Location is very good, close to many restaurants and to the train station.

Room with street view - VERY NOISY all night! More expensive than many hotels we have stayed in. Cute hotel, nice staff. Very expensive breakfast 17 euros! We found a different hotel when we returned to Nice a week later.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights third week of September in a superior room with garden view. Room (3rd floor - 311) was spacious, clean, nicely decorated. The window opened into the private hotel garden. If you keep the window open at night you can still hear the traffic noise, but it was quiet with window closed. Hotel has excellent location: walk 10 min to train station, 15 min to bus station and the old town. The service was excellent. Our breakfast was included in a price of the room (160 EU/night). The breakfast was good but we did supplement it with fruit from the market (we brought with us some plastic plates and a small cutting knife which we used a lot since there are numerous fruit markets around). I highly recommend this hotel to any picky (as I as myself) traveler.

Excellent position in centre of Nice -only 8 minutes walk to Promenade des Anglais and about 15 mins to the fascinating old town. Although on a busy street the rear opens onto its own beautiful and restful garden area (well worth booking bedroom at rear). Bedroom a little smaller than expected but, along with ensuite, very clean and well appointed.Liked the constant availability of a 'Nespresso'machine in lounge. Staff always very friendly, polite and knowledgeable.Only one slighty negative criticism: thought the breakfasts were rather expensive with regard to variety of food - have had better at chain budget hotels like Kyriads for half the price. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay and would heartily recommend.

My husband and I had a fantastic time in Nice, helped by the most charming staff at the Villa Victoria. It is a lovely hotel, turn right and you are on the Promenade within 5-6 minutes. The Reception staff must be highly commended. We had Room 207 overlooking the lovely garden area. Everything was absolutely wonderful.

The hotel is located not very far from the pedestrian areas of Nice; 5 minutes walk. It was quite easy to drive to the hotel from the Nice airport, with a little help from the GPS, not a whole lot of roundabouts nor the need of changing directions all the time. The minus is that there were very few parking spaces in front of the hotel, which also were very narrow. We were lucky to get one. Gourmet city, certainly not (nothing to do with the hotel): Maybe we chose the wrong restaurant in the pedestrian are, but our dinner in Nice is one of the most unsuccessful dinners we have ever had in France; and we have been to quite a lot of places and restaurants in France. The mussels (moules) we had were far from fresh, barely eatable. We both got the mussels prepared another way than ordered; even though we ordered the dinner plates in French. The waiters were so stressed out and were not easy to get hold of, so we did not bother to complain. Furthermore, the wine menu was rather disappointing.

Lovely spacious hotel within walking distance of the Nice main boulevard and restaurants and the Flower Market; as well as within walking distance (if you don't have too much luggage) from the train station. The outdoor garden is very pretty for morning breakfast. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, good location and spacious rooms. Staff and desk very courteous. Would definitely go back and recommend it to friends who want basics without a huge bill. Two negatives: The breakfast (which was good) is a bit on the expensive side at 15 euros; although everything was very clean when we arrived, I felt that the room wasn't maintained to the same standard during the stay.

Villa Victoria is a quality 3 star, its not the cheapest but very nice. Only a 5 min walk from the Beach on a nice (but noisy) street. Make sure you pay a bit more for the garden rooms, they are well worth it, although I can see them being a bit noisy in the summertime with everyone out in the garden. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a nice bathroom as good as some 4-5 star hotels in France.

We only ended up staying one night due to a quick change in plans. We had booked the garden view which was wonderful and the breakfast area and outside patio looked wonderful. Unfortunately we had an early flight so we did not take advantage of this service. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke several languages.

My wife and I enjoyed our 3-night stay. The hotel was warm and welcoming, and our own room overlooking the back garden was large, clean, relatively quiet and comfortable. The courtesy tray was a nice touch and the airconditioning very efficient. The bathroom, whilst modern, warm and well equipped, was not particularly user friendly, especially the hand-held shower unit. We felt that the cost of breakfasting in was excessive (15 euros each), so resorted to d-i-y. The hotel seems ideal for the short-stay visitor keen on seeing all the attractive sights of a lovely French city. Most centrally located museums, restaurants, shops, patisseries, etc can easily be reached on foot, and the Promenade des Anglais is only a level 10-minute walk, as are the Nos.98 and 99 bus stops from the airport (Rue du Congres and Rail Station respectively)

We visited this hotel for the last two nights of our honeymoon. The hotel staff was excellent and the location is in a quiet part of the city that is easy walking distance to the beach. The breakfasts were very good and they have a beautiful garden. We paid extra for a garden-view room and it was well worth the 30 extra Euros per night.

We stayed for a week in September and had a wonderful holiday. The location of the hotel is much nicer on this tree lined boulevard than on the front promenade which can be very noisy. We had a room overlooking the garden which was delightful and very quiet. Access to station and all main areas is excellent with a short stroll to all of them.Staff were great and full of suggestions and even seemed to supply plates, cutlery and glasses for those who wanted to have a snack with their bottle of wine in the garden in the evening.

Our room was amazing. It was enormous and so nicely decorated. We even had a balcony. Our room had wireless internet which was very important to us. We didn't try the breakfast but the restaurant looked very pretty. I only wish we had come to Nice in the summer so we could have taken advantage of the beach that was about a 10 minute walk from the front door of the hotel. I highly recommend Villa Victoria.

If I were visiting Nice again, I would definately return to this hotel. The service was friendly and professional, the rooms clean, spacious and quiet, and the location is 10-15 minutes walk to old town and 5 minutes to ocean. The standout attraction for this hotel was the lovely veranda and garden which made for a very relaxing couple of hours in late afternoon after walking around all day.

We stayed in this hotel in may 2007. They said it was walking distance from train which it was a bit of a hike with luggage but down hill and not too bad. Room was large with balcony overlooking garden. Bath room was ok but only had bath tub with shower handle. Breakfast was available but too expensive. Close to restaurants and shops. We ate at la Sucre and the meals were of good price and quality.

We stayed at Villa Victoria for 2 nights in late August. We found it be good value for money. While the room was a little tight, the staff were helpful and we liked the breakfast area which included an outdoor terrace next to the pleasant garden. The property itself was as described on the website. However we would like to have been made aware of the possibility of pursesnatchers outside the hotel. We were the second group from the hotel to be recently robbed right outside the hotel; actually still on hotel property, as were the others. We would have been even more vigilant than ever had we known. We had just pulled into the hotel parking area; we were right outside the reception window. The passenger door was yanked open and everything scooped up by a guy and he took off with his accomplice on an old motorbike, the wrong way up a one way street. The man in reception took us to the police station to report the robbery but the hotel did not compensate us in any way. We even still had to pay for that night's parking! Hence our overall rating would be about a 2. Losing everything like that does tend to throw your holiday into disarray!!

We arrived at about 1:00am due to a train strike in Italy and we were checked in without any fuss and allowed to go quickly to our room. The room was well decorated and large enough for our needs. Plenty of space to hang clothes and all very clean. Bathroom had tub with shower and a plus in many of hotels, a towel warmer that is great if you want to wash any clothes through and have them dry overnight.Room was quiet. Did not avail of breakfast at hotel choosing to find something in old part of Nice. Hotel is 5 mins from Promenade des Anglais and 15 mins from flower market and Vielle Nice. Also only 5 mins to train station so well located. Would stay here again.

Solo 5 posti auto davanti all'hotel, gratuiti. Garage sotterranei nelle vicinanze con posti disponibili anche in un periodo di punta come il nostro (fine anno 2005). Ottima struttura, da tornarci sicuramente.

The hotel was quite easy to find and we liked the location as it's a little set back from the hubbub of the seafront area. The road is quite noisy with traffic so we were glad we picked a room facing the back garden - it cost a little more but was worth it. It was good to have a choice of either using the air-conditioning or simply opening the large window. The room was a decent size and nicely decorated in a traditional style. The staff were on the whole very charming and helpful (just one "dragon lady" encountered at breakfast time but she was the exception). Breakfast cost extra but you could have as much as you wanted from the buffet which included hardboiled eggs, cheese and apple tart as well as the usual bread and pastries. We would definitely recommend this comfortable hotel to any friends who were visiting Nice.

We arrived at the hotel expecting it to be average so were very impressed at the lovely reception & beautiful breakfast area. Our room was lovely & clean & a single red rose greeted us on the bed. The bathroom was to a very high quality & looked nearly new & the shower over the bath was excellent but needed the hook for the shower head putting higher up rather than being at knee height. The breakfasts were the usual French style with Croissants, Bread, Jams, Cerials, Fresh juices, Yoghurts, Ham, Cheeses & Boiled eggs with a large pot of coffee.(We don't know why but no butter) Everywhere is spotlessly clean. ALL the staff were excellent & most spoke good English which came in really useful as the safe in our room kept forgetting the number we'd programmed in. If you're a light sleeper you'll need a room at the rear & be prepared for the air conditioning "trickling" all night although a couple of pieces of cotton wool helps. We were on the 3rd floor & I thought that the rail outside the french doors in our room was a bit low & I could see someone falling out after a few glasses of red wine. If your fit enough use the stairs which are enclosed but are in beautiful marble. Although I wouldn't fancy a run down the emergency staircase by the lift which would be a tight squeeze. Over all our stay at the "Villa Victoria" was EXCELLENT plus it's in the perfect spot for all the ameneties. The railway station to Monaco or Cannes is a 5 minute walk & the Sea front about 10. The main shops is a short walk down Blvd Victor Hugo which has a new C&A. Also try "Le Mandarin" Vietnamese restaurant on Rue Dalpozzo where the food is fantastic & the staff are so friendly, plus it's just around the corner. If we visit Nice again I wouldn't hesitate to book here again... Thanks to all who made our Silver wedding anniversary so special.... Angie & Trev.

It was the second time that I had been in Villa Victoria. I know Nice quite well and I have been in many hotels there. There are hotels which are more expensive but in a worse shape. I find the relationship between price and quality very acceptable. Furthermore, Villa Victoria is very central located (near pedestrian zone, boardwalk and old town). Next time when I'm in Nice I will choose again Villa Victoria.

My husband and I (we are Canadians in our mid 50's) stayed at the Villa Victoria in mid July, 2003. Everything was great from room size, comfortable bed, nice clean bathroom with a heated towel rack and air conditioning ( which was a welcome pleasure during the heat wave). Being on the street side was not a problem at all. As we were backpacking and taking trains through France, no doubt we were looking quite bedraggled as we walked into the hotel ( we had just spent 5 hours on a train whose air conditioning just couldn't keep up with the heat wave) but the young man who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly. Location was terrific, not in the middle of all the activity but only 15 minutes tops to the ocean and old Nice. If I could make one recommendation, it would be to post the walking distance and directions from the train station to the hotel. Having clear directions when you are walking is greatly appreciated. We would certainly stay at the Villa Victoria if we returned to Nice.
