Hotel Oasis - Nice

Room was tiny and very difficult to move around in it. Shower had poor flow and hard to regulate. room safe inoperable, no attempt made to repair it. Not a nice area many tramps sleeping rough in doorways outside the hotel. Room was quite noisy at night. Very convenient for the railway station.

The superior room was not like in the pictures. We were lucky and we received a room for persons with reduced mobility, and this room was great: large, modern, big bathroom etc. The other 2 rooms were in a separate building, with private kitchen witch was ok but not so modern and clean.

Very small rooms, poor furniture, dirty carpet on the coridors. So dirty,... from the times Lenin was there. Air conditioning was not working so the window must be left open.

This is a very basic hotel room in a marginal neighborhood. If your intent is only to sleep, well the bed was hard as a brick. Perhaps a room facing the courtyard would have made this a better value for us but that is the difference between reluctantly saying ok to this hotel

Staff were excellent. Any problems were fixed quickly eg the TV did not work and was replaced the same day. Also our room was not cleaned one day by mistake and the receptionist immediately offered a free breakfast and a small present was left in our room - nice touch!

Since we wanted to visit various places, the location was excellent being within 5 minutes of the main train station. Staff looked after us well from the moment we entered the hotel. I have no reservation in recommending this hotel - good value for money overall.

I would not rate this hotel as 3*. The decor and furniture, which must be the worst furniture I have seen in a hotel room was of white coated chipboard which was damaged. But most of all the stair banister was dangerous as it had come away from the walls and a serious health and safety issue. There is not really a bar as stated, although you can order a drink i.e. room service. On a plus note the hotel staff where very friendly and there was plenty of hot water.

Must be the quietest hotel in Nice. The gardens are a pleasure for breakfast. Only complaint is that the rooms are on the small side.

Photograghs are very deceiving. Rooms are nothing like the photo's. Very small and basic. Too little value for money. The staff are excellent throughout and have perfect english (which can be rare in hotels in France)

Those looking for historical place will be emased. It is really a place where Chekhov lived. The hotel even has an old newspaper hanging framed on the wall advertizings the writer's stay. The liitle garden the hotel is secluded in is very cosy and pleasant to have breakfast in. It takes only 8 minutes to walk to the beach, 10 minutes to walk to the old quaters, and 4 minutes to get to the train station. If you plan to make short trips to Antibe or Cannes, or Monaco, this is ideal. Additionally, it's the train station where you can easily find a bus stop to take you to Shagal's and Matiz's museums.
