exterior Hotel Negresco exterior Built in 1912, overlooking the famous Baie des Anges, and classified a National Historic Monument in 1974, the 5 star hotel Negresco in Nice is one of the few remaining private palaces still existing in the world. Jeanne Augier, owner and chairwoman, has created a unique living museum based on her desire to share her passion for art with her clients.

Five centuries of art and history rub shoulders: from the classical and historical paintings of the royal portraits in the Salon Louis XIV and Salon Royal to such contemporary artists as Moretti, Dali, Sosno, Gruau and Nike de Saint Phalle.

Throughout the hotel, epic periods in the history of France are represented, from the Renaissance to the 3rd Millennium. With its stylish and beautiful rooms, the Negresco entertains some of the most exclusive guests in the entire world. The decoration of each one of the 121 guestrooms has been inspired by the most outstanding periods of French art and history. Rooms have been individually decorated to reflect styles as different as Louis XIII and art decó.

Situated in the arcade of the magnificent Salon Royal, the hotel's boutiques offer a wide range of articles from works of art to household and holidays goods. Furthermore, a gym and a private beach are at your disposal.

Bit of an old world hotel. Great location. Maybe better value in the area but overall an enjoyable stay. A must..hire a car and drive up and down the coast.

The location was perfect. Staying in the hotel is like being inside a museum. The staff was helpful and courteous. We had some internet access challenges but the staff kept working on the problem until it was fixed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends traveling to the area.

This was an extremely dissapointing stay. My first room was directly over the nightclub and the singer was singing well into the morning and very loud. The second room I had was quiet at night but from 9 in the morning and all day there were jackhammers and hammering above me. The help was barely friendly and I thought for a price like this the accomodations, sevice and quality were extremely poor. i would NEVER recommmend this hotel to anyone. You would do yourself a favor by not representing it. The price was outrageous! The hotel was terrible.

If you're spending a few days in Nice it may not be worth it to shell out between 4 and 600 Euro's a night. However if you only have one night in Nice be sure to treat yourself to this hotel. Although it is extremely pricey, the feel and the location of the hotel make it worth it. The service is top notch and the property is amazing, you may find yourself wandering the halls admiring art on more then one occassion. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay, beautiful room & view, and great service.

One of the finest hotel my wife and I have stayed. From the moment we arrived, until our departure, we felt like "royality!" The management and staff were outstanding during our entire stay. They were extremely polite, helpful and no need was to great/small. The artwork in the lobby area, and hallways was fantastic. One felt as if they were touring the Louvre. A wonderful plus to staying at the hotel. We also had dinner at the Carousel Restaurant, which was excellent. It happened to be our anniversary, and the management surprised us when checking in by upgrading us to a suite. what a wonderful way to start our stay, which only added to our overall experience. We will certainly recommend the Negresco to our friends, and make arrangements to stay again when in Nice.

How to reach Hotel Negresco

By car
The highway is approximately 5 km away. Take exit n° 50 and follow the signs for Nice-Promenade des Anglais. The hotel is situated on the the promenade.

By train
The hotel is located close to the train station (around 400 metres away), and may be reached by taxi or public bus.

By airplane
The Nice-Côte d'Azur airport is approximately 4 km away. A shuttle service to the promenade is available.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Breakfast is not included in the price. The continental breakfast costs €28,00, while the American breakfast costs €34,00.

One night charged in case of late cancellation or no show MONACO GRAND PRIX 2006 : May 26/29 - 3 nights minimum - rates breakfast inclusive 50% of stay requested at the reservation, balance due 2 months prior arrival. Payments are non refundable
