Excellent location in the pedestrian area. Clean rooms , friendly and welcoming staff. The only inconvenience was that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. The stay was really enjoyable and for a reasonable price, I would strongly recommend it.

Clean and quiet hotel. Advisable for those who arrive by car, as it offers a parking lot at an affordable price (10 euros/day). Breakfast is rather standard, however, considering the current costs just for a cup of tea or of coffee in Nice, its rate is reasonable.

Everything was as it should be but the breakfast priced at €8 would benefit from inclusion of fruit. Reception staff were especially helpful and resourceful in relation to a cancelled flight due to the strike. We would certainly like to stay here again.

Printer attached to the public computer would be helpful for printing boarding passes, lift is too small and noisy

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location in town was great. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the overall condition and style of the hotel. I booked it b/c I thought it would be a cute boutique hotel, but when we arrived, the room and its furnishings looked like a dingy, dark room with shag carpet left over from the 70's. For the price, it was reasonable, but I would not have wanted to spend my whole vacation there. It's good for a budget traveler who wants a safe and basic hotel.

The Hotel Massenet is a very comfortable small hotel, conveniently situated for access to the Promenade des Anglais (one minute's walk), but far enough away to avoid the traffic noise. It is also close (but not too close) to the pedestrianised area, with its wealth of cafes and restaurants. The old town and the bus station are about ten minutes' walk away. The hotel is small, but the premier bedrooms are spacious. The public areas are limited, so the hotel would be less suitable for families with small children. The staff during our stay were friendly and helpful, and all spoke good English. It offers excellent value for money, and deserves its high standing in the reviews. It might improve its access details by adding the information that the 98 express bus from the airport stops at Congres on the Promenade des Anglais. It is about a ten minute bus ride, and the bus stop is about five minutes' walk from the hotel. The fare for the 98 is 4 euros (this is a special price for the airport express buses only - most bus and tram journeys are 1 euro for any distance - amazing value!).

The hotel exceeded our expectations, it was very clean, spacious and very quiet and only 100 meters walk from the Boulevard des Anglais and 50 meters from the shopping centre close to the old town. Fabulous! Ofcourse also the sunny weather in Nice even in early February contributed to the overall experience.

Hotel Massenet was an excellent choice for our three day stay in Nice. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is ideally located within 100 m of the beach, the shops and restaurants along rue de France, and an airport express bus stop. The old city and Place de Masséna/Rue Jean Médecin shopping hub are not much further. My only small complaint about the hotel was the charge for WiFi access, which was free at the other four places we stayed on our trip. We found two excellent small restaurants side-by-side on Rue de Maréchal Joffre, just 5 minutes from the hotel - le Carré Vert and Akvavit. For those interested in art, the Musée Marc Chagall is a must.

Highly recommend. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, both prior to and during stay. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe. Room was quiet and extremely clean. Very well located a block from the Promenade and by lots of shops and cafes. Reasonably priced, easy to reach from the airport by bus (get off at Congres, look for signs on the bus stops). If you don't need an ocean view, this is an excellent choice.

It's not really a hotel as they have no facilities. It's just a building with rooms.

Perfect situated for us (2 girls) who wanted to stay near the sea and near shopping. The room was a bit small but clean and nice. We were both happy to stay here as we had easy access to the beach and the shops. We went to the old city for dinner, lots of different restaurants to try there and some shopping as well.

Très bon hotel, accueil chaleureux, seul le petit déjeuner faisait un peu "cheap", il n'y avait pas grand chose... sinon la chambre était parfaite !

A great hotel in an excellent location very close to Promenade, cafes, bars, restaurants and shops but tucked away so it's quiet! Lovely cafe/coffee shop for breakfast just outside, if you want an alternative to the hotel. Rooms are a decent size, clean and comfortable.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is about 1 block away from the Promenade des Anglais. It is also just around the corner from the "Pedestrian Zone", a wonderful street for shopping, restaurants, etc. The hotel ammenities were good (e.g. safe in bedroom, cheap wireless internet access (~ 3 E/day)). Bathroom was spacious (it had a tub!) and the toilet had its own small seperate room of the suite. The only thing we didn't like was the carpet in our room. It was a brown shag and one couldn't tell if it was clean by looking at it. My guess is that this was tredy some time ago and it hasn't yet been updated. Breakfast was OK - coffee/tea/juice, yoghurt, cereals, and buns/croissants/toast. No fruit, eggs or meat. Breakfast started early (7:30 am), which was great for us. The staff were friendly and always available. They ask that you leave your key at the desk when you go out, which is another reason someone is always at the desk. All things considered, we really liked our stay at Massanet and would stay here again.

We stayed at Massenet the night before flying back to the states. I had just come down with a cold and wanted a quiet room. This was perfect! The bed was large and comfortable and the room has virtually no street noise (a bit from the inside of the hotel, but not bad). I was able to get some much needed rest despite being in such a vibrant area of the city!

The two ladies on reception were most helpful and pleasant. Went out of their way to offer advice on places to visit. We stayed for three nights and did not opt for breakfast after the first two. We did have breakfast after the third night and found it substantial and adequate. Would certainly stay at this hotel in the future.

Recommend the hotel and the staff were very helpful and efficient. The hotel is very close to the seafront and accessible to shopping centre and old town. The airport bus stop is only metres around the corner! Don't miss a day trip to Monte Carlo on the train.

Excellent loction and price. Hotel was 1 block from beach and a half a block from street with many restaurants and shopping. By being located in between the two, you did not have the noise from either. I would and have recommended this hotel to others.

Breakfast not worth 8 euro. Irish people eat a hearty breakfast as a rule. First time at hotel but I would breakfast elsewhere. Plenty of good restaurants nearby.

We arrived late to a booking on venere and despite my halting french were swiftly checked in. The room was much larger than expected and had everything we needed (except tea/coffee facilities, which is normal for France). It was easy to find, and a very handy location for everything we wanted to do.

The Hotel, which we selected based on the good reviews by other users, exceeded our expectations. It has an excellent location and was easy to reach from the Airport via No 98 bus. You are straight out on to the Rue de France with its bars and cafes and short walk to the Old Town and the main shopping area. The main Promenade de Anglais is only 50 yds away. The room was spacious and very clean with a large bathroom and separate toilet. The fridge and safe (free) were an advantage (perhaps tea making facilities would have been useful) We didn't have breakfast but took advantage of the many bars and cafes nearby that offer Petite de jouner. It is a 15 mins walk to the railway station from which you are able to reach the likes of Cannes, Monaco and Anitbes (we particularly liked Antibes with its walled Old Town area) The Hotel is ideal if you want a central base in Nice and offers good value for money

Small, quaint hotel in the heart of Nice, one block from the promenade. We had a lovely double superior room overlooking the front of the hotel. The room and bathroom was quite spacious. The TV was tiny and the carpeting could use replacing, but those are very small quibbles. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location just back from the beach. Our room was large and clean and very quiet. Parking was excellent in the underground parking facility but our navigation system in our car found it very difficult getting us to the hotel in the first place with all the one ways and road works (tip the hotel can only be located by car from the promenade travelling in the direction of Marseille).

We tried to take a train to Monaco - the Nice train station was TERRIBLE. The whole area around the station is dirty. The station is terribly disorganised and the staff very rude. The trains schedule was incorrect and caused us to waste an entire evening. We had bought tickets that, although the train would eventually be almost 2 hours late, they would not refund. Stay away from the Nice Station!
