Another great stay at Massenet. Always find the hotel clean, quiet, friendly and so central for getting around Nice. Also to be able to walk the seafront in the evening and bus stop for airport is close by.

Location was excellent. Close to restaurants, beach, shopping and old town but still a bit withdrawn and quiet. The quietness was amazing given the central location. We stayed in a superior room which was very spacious. Apparently the rooms varies in size dependent on room type. Breakfast was "petit" so it is recommended to have breakfast in one of the many restaurants and cafes just around the corner. Would stay here again if going to Nice.

Lovely, small hotel close to all restaurants etc. Ideal for beach and amenities. Breakfast was not varied enough, but plenty of places to eat out, such as cafe fleur. Good meals at Le Lodge just around corner

Pros: The hotel was centrally located and within walking distance to the beach, the old town and the shopping area. Its staff were helpful, polite and smiling; they did their best to accommodate my needs and answer my queries. The room was spacious, especially the bathroom and the bed was comfortable. As for breakfast, there are plenty of options in the nearby cafes. Cons: The walls were thin and I could hear the neighbours in the adjacent room speaking to each other. There were some minor construction works taking place during the day, which prevented me (a bit) from taking a nap in the afternoon. The room carpet needed vacuum cleaning. Conclusion: I would gladly return to this hotel. I wish I could get a cheaper offer next time :-)

My ONLY (very) minor complaint that the cleaning staff DID NOT bother to replenish the soaps and the shampoo (in fact there was NO shampoo in the bottle in the shower the day we checked-in till we checked-out) DESPITE telling the front desk. We bought the supplies ourselves. When I brought up this (finally one more time) at the check-out time, the lady told me to write this so that it will come to GM's attention. She told us categorically that Things DO NOT get resolved unless put in writing. Otherwise...overall experience A +++.

We settled for this hotel after looking at many in Nice. We chose it for location and because it seemed trustworthy for cleanliness and calmness. We were not disappointed. We don't ask for much in from a hotel room, and that's pretty much what you get here. Comfortable bed, large carpeted room, and good staff. We spent a little bit extra to get the superior room, which consists of a larger room and a «balcony», which is about a foot wide, so not much point, but a big patio door. A door conveniently separates the room area from the washroom/toilet area. Don't expect a sea view, as the hotel is comprised in a sort of dead end street and surrounded by larger apartment buildings. It makes it quiet at night though. And you step out directly into the pedestrian zone, without being right in the heat of things, so again, excellent location, very easy to drive to also, as it is right off the Promenade des Anglais, which is a 2 minute walk away. So overall, this hotel was a little bit over our budget, without putting out fantastic features, but it seems hard to get a nice hotel for a good price in Nice, so this turned out to be a good option.

directions to the hotel when driving need updating - I spent 40 minutes driving round and eventually parked in a public car park and walked to the hotel. Once there the staff directed me to the hotel garage. Breakfast needs fruit, something less grain based

Very good hotel offering excellent value for money without compromising on quality. Nothing fancy, but good sized room, seems recently refurbished, immaculately clean. Comfy bed, mini-fridge in the room, safe. Big bathroom with new equipment and huge mirror. Location is absolutely unbeatable, close to everything yet quiet. Did not try breakfast. Overall, highly recommended for short stay in Nice.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Massenet and I recommend it for travelers staying in Nice. Spacious, clean rooms and a very helpful staff. Most importantly is the fact that for the cost compared to other nearby hotels that we tried (and I wish we hadn't) the Hotel Massenet is a BARGAIN and I'm not just referencing cost, the rooms are by far cleaner and more spacious. I highly recommend it.

It was first time I stayed at Nice and Hotel Massenet. First one, hotel is well situated. It takes only 1 minites to achieve Promenade des Anglaise, 5 minutes - to Massena Square, 10 minutes - Nice Ville Gare. Second one, I think 100 Euro/night is absolutely adequate price for Nice's hotel in low season. Also stuff was very welcoming and competent about any questions connected with rest on Cote d'Azure. I can't recommend you have a breakfast here because it poor enough but you can get absolutely unforgetable impressions by visiting any local cafes or brasseries near hotel. And I'm already planing to come back here in September!

Clean and quiet hotel. Advisable for those who arrive by car, as it offers a parking lot at an affordable price (10 euros/day). Breakfast is rather standard, however, considering the current costs just for a cup of tea or of coffee in Nice, its rate is reasonable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location in town was great. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the overall condition and style of the hotel. I booked it b/c I thought it would be a cute boutique hotel, but when we arrived, the room and its furnishings looked like a dingy, dark room with shag carpet left over from the 70's. For the price, it was reasonable, but I would not have wanted to spend my whole vacation there. It's good for a budget traveler who wants a safe and basic hotel.

The Hotel Massenet is a very comfortable small hotel, conveniently situated for access to the Promenade des Anglais (one minute's walk), but far enough away to avoid the traffic noise. It is also close (but not too close) to the pedestrianised area, with its wealth of cafes and restaurants. The old town and the bus station are about ten minutes' walk away. The hotel is small, but the premier bedrooms are spacious. The public areas are limited, so the hotel would be less suitable for families with small children. The staff during our stay were friendly and helpful, and all spoke good English. It offers excellent value for money, and deserves its high standing in the reviews. It might improve its access details by adding the information that the 98 express bus from the airport stops at Congres on the Promenade des Anglais. It is about a ten minute bus ride, and the bus stop is about five minutes' walk from the hotel. The fare for the 98 is 4 euros (this is a special price for the airport express buses only - most bus and tram journeys are 1 euro for any distance - amazing value!).

The hotel exceeded our expectations, it was very clean, spacious and very quiet and only 100 meters walk from the Boulevard des Anglais and 50 meters from the shopping centre close to the old town. Hotel Massenet was an excellent choice for our three day stay in Nice. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is ideally located within 100 m of the beach, the shops and restaurants along rue de France, and an airport express bus stop. The old city and Place de Masséna/Rue Jean Médecin shopping hub are not much further. My only small complaint about the hotel was the charge for WiFi access, which was free at the other four places we stayed on our trip. We found two excellent small restaurants side-by-side on Rue de Maréchal Joffre, just 5 minutes from the hotel - le Carré Vert and Akvavit. For those interested in art, the Musée Marc Chagall is a must.

Very well located a block from the Promenade and by lots of shops and cafes. Reasonably priced, easy to reach from the airport by bus (get off at Congres, look for signs on the bus stops). If you don't need an ocean view, this is an excellent choice.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is about 1 block away from the Promenade des Anglais. It is also just around the corner from the "Pedestrian Zone", a wonderful street for shopping, restaurants, etc. The hotel ammenities were good (e.g. safe in bedroom, cheap wireless internet access (~ 3 E/day)). Bathroom was spacious (it had a tub!) and the toilet had its own small seperate room of the suite. The only thing we didn't like was the carpet in our room. It was a brown shag and one couldn't tell if it was clean by looking at it. My guess is that this was tredy some time ago and it hasn't yet been updated. Breakfast was OK - coffee/tea/juice, yoghurt, cereals, and buns/croissants/toast. No fruit, eggs or meat. Breakfast started early (7:30 am), which was great for us. The staff were friendly and always available. They ask that you leave your key at the desk when you go out, which is another reason someone is always at the desk. All things considered, we really liked our stay at Massanet and would stay here again.

We stayed at Massenet the night before flying back to the states. I had just come down with a cold and wanted a quiet room. This was perfect! The Hotel, which we selected based on the good reviews by other users, exceeded our expectations. It has an excellent location and was easy to reach from the Airport via No 98 bus. You are straight out on to the Rue de France with its bars and cafes and short walk to the Old Town and the main shopping area. The main Promenade de Anglais is only 50 yds away. The room was spacious and very clean with a large bathroom and separate toilet. The fridge and safe (free) were an advantage (perhaps tea making facilities would have been useful) We didn't have breakfast but took advantage of the many bars and cafes nearby that offer Petite de jouner. It is a 15 mins walk to the railway station from which you are able to reach the likes of Cannes, Monaco and Anitbes (we particularly liked Antibes with its walled Old Town area) The Hotel is ideal if you want a central base in Nice and offers good value for money

We tried to take a train to Monaco - the Nice train station was TERRIBLE. The whole area around the station is dirty. The station is terribly disorganised and the staff very rude. The trains schedule was incorrect and caused us to waste an entire evening. We had bought tickets that, although the train would eventually be almost 2 hours late, they would not refund.
