Hotel Massena - Nice

The MASSENA hotel is very well located near "le Vieux Nice" area (barely 15/20mn away from the airport when there's no traffic jam). We had a room with a large terrace and the hotel team was just very helpful, welcoming and professional. we would definitely recommend this place. Two thumbs up !

The room was really small and the TV didn't function well (sometimes the screen was totally black);there was a water leak in the bathroom.However, the staff was nice and location is very good, in the city centre.It was just a bit too expensive for the room we had, maybe because it was New Year's Eve

Clean & comfortable. Good location not far from the water and good shopping area. Staff fairly helpful and welcoming.

Been staying in the deluxe room which was rather spacious. but it was a bit noisy facing the street and the hotel needs the refubrishment - everything looks old but nice though. the stuff was polite and helpful most of the times. I would recommend this hotel only if the better ones are not available or for the price of 150 per nite not 200! And only to stay at the deluxe rooms because the regular ones are small and dont look like 4star(had a glance while walking in the corridor).

Great location, within walking distance of everything. The decor in the lobby was amazing especially decorated to celebrate Christmas. The rooms were quite spacious for European standards.

Room was not clean. When I complained to the staff, I was not satisfied with the response. The location is excellent and the room was spacious.

Excellent location 5 minutes from Cours Saleya, old town, bus station, promenade, but not at all noisy. Very helpful staff with excellent English. Cool modern lobby. Slept like a log. Hotel breakfasts are overpriced. Alarm call on departure day for airport never arrived, and taxi was booked for wrong time. Although potentially disastrous, these slips were the exception in otherwise attentive service. Arrival tip: if arriving at Nice railway station, skip the overpriced 18 Euro taxi (it's barely a mile), walk left one block and take the 1 Euro tram downhill 3 stops to Massena.

The hotel is very well located. All interesting sites are near by including the sea, old town and the museums. the staff attended to our problems and queries promptly. Would stay again during next visit.

Hotel Massena has the central location between touristic area and old city close to the sea traditional rooms are quite spacious,well decorated with big bathroom

Good location and room

Hotel is located close to the big things in Nice. Only a few blocks from the market, the main street which fronts the beach, the main commercial street which leads from the train station to the beach. Hotel fulfilled our request for a twin room with a balcony. Friend was having issue logging on to internet and staff came up of their own accord to help. Much appreciated. Small elevator but this is norm in most hotels in Europe. Day train to Barcelona was full so went over to Monaco which is close by via train. French Riviera is quite impressive and recommended to visit.

1. I did not receive any email confirmation of my booking from Venere, no matter how hard I tried for 3 days (my assitant called Venere several times on the phone - so what exactly is the point of internet booking if you cannot receive a proper confirmation) 2. Details of my internet booking and information receved from Venere did not match which caused me a lot of trouble : a) type of room did not match so the hotel wanted to charge me more than I booked b) number of persons did not match: the hotel wanted to charge for 2 persons while I was alone c) hotel has no communication with Venere so they could not verify the information and I could not prove that I was right because Venere did not email me the confirmation, although my assistant spoke with customer services several times on the phone and the promised to do it. 4) so as a result hotel wanted to charge me more and it took them half an hour to make a decision - so instead of quick check-out I had to spend nearly an hour in the hotel being late for my appointment because the hotel did not receive proper information from Venere from the very beginning and had no procedure to verify or contact Venere for verification. So my initial good impression was completely ruined by gotel incompetence as well as by total mess created by Venere reservation problems

Room was not spacious enough

Hair Dryer was Broken, 2 lamps were broken, 1 plug socket was not working. The room had a very bad smell of stale cigarettes, it was almostt as if somone was with us in the room the whole time smoking. As non-smokers my wife and i found this quite unacceptable, but apparently there were no non-smoking rooms.

Un hotel non di categoria 4 stelle, bensì forse di categoria 2 stelle. le camere sono fatiscenti. prezzo giusti massimo € 50.

Everyone was very nice and went the extra mile to answer questions and to make our stay very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Massena to anyone going to Nice.

Very satisfied, but I would prefer breakfast cost to be included in roomprice
