This hotel is in close proximity to the beach and train station. For the price which we paid you would have a tough time finding a better hotel for the price in this location. In spending 5 weeks traveling throughout we have come to realize that accommodations are quite different from north american hotels. When traveling our primary concerns are finding a clean room with a good shower close to train and sights. This hotel covered them all for us and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the same type of requirements. Enjoy your stay!!

Excellent location a block from beach - but you get what you pay for. Our room was old and oddly placed behind the dining room in a corner next to the kitchen on the ground floor. There were callgirls in the street outside the hotel at night. Do NOT follow the walking directions to get to hotel!!! There is a more direct, less hilly route.

I had a room at the third floor but on the side of the avenue where it was much noïse with traffic during the night. The windows are not enough soundproofed.

No fridge in the room ( +38 outside and no possibility to keep soft drinks and fruits cold), very-very-very old furniture, 4 french TV channels only, terrible old non working radio, internet - 2 euro per 15 minutes with terrible speed, there are 2 advantages - very welcoming staff and 3 minutes to the beaches walking. Never return back to this hotel and do not recommend it to the people who like comfort on vacation

The room was clean and not very spacious, but enough for one night. The bathroom was clean. Toiletries are almost non-existant... The staff at the reception and for breakfast were pleasant and helpful.

There was a layer of mildew in the bathroom, and the wallpaper came of the ceiling, that was disgusting. The third bed (we rented a triple room), espacially the matress, was very poor.

The hotel has very good location, only 200 meters from Promenade des Anglais. The old town is not so close, but it can be reached easily with bus. Bus stops are just next to the hotel. Staff is very kind and speaks English. Don't miss the Carnival of Nice if you visit the town in the end of February!

The hotel is nicely obsolete. . the switches and the furniture are all vintage. there are very old stains on the carpet so it can look dirty but the bed linen were clean and nice. It was very very cheap for us so for the money we paid it was a bargain.

The man work in the night was not kind; he hide off the remote controler at once after we watching TV, that's made us really feel bad. and when we asked him about the bus aroud the hotel, he said that he don't know! he helped us nothing...but other persons were no bad.

It was better than expected, the bathroom was very comfortable and the room was okay. the only bothering thing was the noise of the streets.Personally i don´t like too much hot air from the heating (which was on all time and could not be turned off), so i had to leave a window open and the noise from the streets would bother. Definietly the right hotel to stay for some nights, but not longer, since in summer probably you just can´t leave any window open. It is very near to the airport and easy to reach by bus. If you walk around you´ll find all kinds of shops to supply and refresh you. There is good google streetview support on the area and you can even see the hotel. The internet connection was free at the lobby if you had your own laptop, that is a BIG plus!

I am sure eventhough it is rated 3 star ,it was very much less in par with all the budget hotels i have ever stayed in Europe, kindly review this hotel and its facilities and please rate this accordingly otherwise it will spoil the Venere.com's reputation. But still feel the cheapest hotel in whole my internet search. thanks

Minus points for: - receiving specialy one of the receptionists (the oldest one) was always with a crab face and he was behaving like we were staying there on his money. - room space; the room was too small. Plus point for: - good location, near the beach. - clean room.

The hotel is very nice. The facilities are good. The only thing I didn't like is the wrong information on the website. It's said that there is only 10-minute walk form Gare SNCF, but it actually took us over half an hour to go there on foot.

Our room was very small. If we had stayed for more than 2 nights it would have been a problem. We could not unpack. We found the directions to the hotel very muddling - it was however very central. Lots of prostitutes outside the hotel every night.

The staff spoke very good english. They were very welcoming and helpful when needing any assistance. There were a few teething problems regarding the bathroom - the light didn't work the shower was blocked all of which were fixed when pointed out. The area leading up to the hotel felt very safe. Overall we were happy with our experience.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 days. The Hotel is 1.3 Miles away from the Train Station (20 minutes walk). It is 0.4 miles to the beautiful beach. No nearby tram station though bus stops are near. No good restaurants nearby. The interior of the hotel was shabby, the carpets were old, stained and worn, and a glass pane in the stairwell was broken. Bathroom was dark with poor lighting. Only Shower cubicles and no bathtub There is no AIR CONDITIONER. It’s only a Fan Several "ladies of the night" hanging around outside the front door of the hotel. Thought the rates were cheap but i would still not consider this as an option next time due to the poor room quality & location Much worse than a UK two star hotel

I was looking for a low price hotel, and Hotel Locarno was for me a good alternative. I am satisfied with the location - it was very central and quite close to everything I wanted to see. I am quite satisfied, but I have to make a few "negative" comments: The water in my room was not warm enough. I must also admit that I was not fully satisfied with my breakfast - but on the other hand I got used to it after a few days...

This site gave the best price for our stay. We are a party of 3 and we each had 3 beds in our room. The price via this web site is great!!!! I would do this again for all of my European travels!!!!! Just print out your travel and show up, they have you logged in their system when you check in. You pay when you leave.

Wonderfully lucky choice as a last-minute trip. Location was great for the price - only a block from the water. Unfortunately the parking for the hotel was booked, so there was no place to put our car (but it was Sunday when we stayed, and the Nice traffic patrol isn't very vigilant on Sundays). Breakfast wasn't the greatest - baguettes and croissants were a bit stale. But, it was an affordable place to stay in Nice that allowed us a nice walk by the sea!

First of all its not a 3 star hotel and secondly they gave us the worst room they had in the entire hotel. The cupboards were locked and had no key. The room was so small that there was hardly any space to move. The guy at the welcome desk was not hospitable at all. they had no information about the local transport system.

I was surprised with the fair rate and the wonderful surroundings and the spacious rooms. Also the staff worked seriously. The only two small faults were lack of hairdryer and the inconvenience of parking(but i thought parking was essentially difficult in Nice). I enjoyed the stay at the hotel.

Even considering the modest cost we paid for the room, I would still rate the room as one of the most austere and shabby in which I have stayed. Your very cooperative staff made it bearable. The location was not bad, on the edge of a convenient, desirable area. Your staff gave us an excellent local restaurant recomendation (Aux Gourmets) which was probably the best meal of our trip.

The carpets throughout the Hotel were not clean the rooms were not that clean. We found a number of small cockroaches in the room exactly five during our three night stay. There may have been more during the night but who can tell. Those we found we killed. The Hotel is way off the centre of Nice and it took us a while to find places to eat and drink

I found the hotel was very poor. Although it was only €70 per night it did not justify the uncleanness and scruffiness of the rooms and the hall areas and there was a stale smell throughout the whole hotel. I was surprised that it is classified as a 3 star hotel and we were lucky we had only booked for 2 nights and were able to move on. I will not be returning to hotel Locarno and would not recommend it to anyone.

I am in the process of writing a letter to venere.com to inform you of how disgusted we were with regard to the condition of these premises. Unfortunately we arrived very late and as we were only staying for two nights we decided to put up with it, however the pictures on your website are of no resemblance to the hotel at all! Our room which was extremely noisy had stains all over the ceiling which I think is the cause of the room smelling so damp. To say the room was basic is an understatement. I do not believe we got value for money and would not consider using venere.com again to book accommodation.

Hello, Didn't really help that they said they had a car park, but it was v.small. Also they were doing works on the building next door hence v.noisy! Otherwise it was ok... Also, avoid breakfast, its not bad but you can get better cheaper nearby and eat it at the beach. Far nicer!! Mark

We extended our stay there on arrival in Nice and returned there for a few days before returning to the UK. We would certainly us it again.
