With a beautiful garden and pool with a fantastic view, it was a perfect place for relaxation for us. The room was okay, there are no amenities but it's normal in France. Overall I have a lovely weekend in Miramar.

Awesome view, but the room smelled like urine. Do not rent the suite, it is dated and smells like urine. Would stay again no matter how bad the room was because the view and pool were excellent. Very close to Vence and the town was great!

Wonderful stay - quaint little hotel with a beautiful setting and pool/terrace. Vence is a charming town, all within walking distance. Breakfast is good but pricey - an additional 12 euros per person

When we arrived the owner was present and could not even hold open the door to allow us to get our bags inside. We were simply given a key and told third floor. We asked for a room with a balcony. We got one with room only for one chair. Also we discovered that a room with a balcony means you get no air conditioning. Breakfast was appalling. The food was stale and unappetising. On day one we had a cup of tea only and gave up for the rest of our stay. Hotel rules say no food in rooms, no drinks in rooms. They also say if you want to eat anywhere at the hotel you have to buy drinks at the bar in the hotel. We looked ech evening and found that after 7 pm there are no staff and no bar so dont even try. To travel around the world to stay in a hotel that wont allow you to eat or drink on the premises unless you buy it there despite there being no service at all after 7pm is not only odd it is appallingly bad. Finally the owner was arrogant and rude. We wont ever go there again. There are much better hotels than this to stay in in the area. Sadly the fantastic view from the terrrace is negated by an arrogant owner who gives bad service.

Located in a lovely hilltop village, the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood (soccer fields adjacent but lights out at 10:00 pm) 5 minutes walk from the historic and charming center of Vence. Daniel is welcoming (his English is excellent). The view of the surrounding hills and mountains is breathtaking. This is an old villa, so rooms are well-kept but quaint. If you want to be away from the big cities but near enough to take a day trip to them, this is a great location. I think a car is essential (no trains in Vence but bus service to Nice, etc.) to see the surrounding area.

Our room had a fantastic, beautiful view of the hills and valley...just spectacular. The room's ambiance (wall colors, high ceilings) was very subtle and peaceful, and we enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, parking was often a problem. On two occasions we had to assist new guests who were trying to check in because no one was available at the hotel to help them. It would have been a more enjoyable stay if we could have had lunch or dinner on the patio to enjoy the view. Twice at breakfast, they ran out of coffee and we had to wait for refills..The "bar" closed at 7:00 p.m. and we resorted to a vending machine one evening for our "beverage." All in all, a very special location, and for the price, probably quite fair.

As the only apparent English speakers at the time, I did not really meet other guests. People seemed to be from all over Europe, many Germans. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Signage/diretions to the hotel were good. Vence was a very interesting city to visit. As an American, I have found that Vence is one city that many Americans are not familiar with. It is a good location to visit surrounding communities. Views were great. Reminded me of Santa Barbara, California, the California Riviera. I wish they served wine in the evening and had Internet access available to guests.

The hotel was very hard to find by car. When we arrived at 7 pm we found no one there. A note was attached to the door giving us a cell phone number to call.We were given a code to punch in. On the day we left, we wanted to check out at 7 am, but no one was there. He came quickly when called by phone. We never saw any other guests, and the hotel had the feeling of being deserted. It was neat and clean, and the room was comfortable. It looked like it had recently been decorated extensively, but somehow it was not attractive.

The hotel is in a great position with lovely views, and only 5 minutes walk to the historical centre. Good free car parking. All rooms were spotless and gardens very tidy and well kept. Excellent and helpful service. We will definitely return.

Highlights included simple and excellent breakfasts to start the morning and a pool for swimming off the days heat. The most fantastic panoramic view from the terrace and from our room, which being on the corner had views in two directions. A small relaxed and friendly place where M Varlet kept a quiet but accessible profile. Only noise was from lorries moving overnight furhter down the hill, and Mum snoring. Definately recommend it to others wanting a quiet base for a long weekend. Also an excellent base for exploring St Paul, Grasse and the Meght Foundation for a long weekend.

It was a gem, with beautiful views from the room. The ceilings in our room were very high and the decor was very pleasant - very Provence. My favorite aspect of the property was the patio on which we took our leisurely breakfasts while enjoying the beautiful views. The owner gave us tips (and directions) about where to get wonderful meals in the center of Vence - a short walking distance. The whole experience was very relaxed and satisfying.
