Hotel Le Lido - Nice

Magnificient location and surroundings, friendly service and comfortable room made our one week stay enjoyable. Especially we appreciated the little kitchen. Good value for money, can be recommended for low budget travellers.

Hotel very well situated and very good service, the lady was very nice. But the room was quite dark and did not correspond to the pictures, it depressed me. The price was too high for thqt kind of room but maybe that was because of the cooking facilities, which we did not use.

This hotel is not at all like the pictures. First of all, when we got there, the downstairs lock was broken and open, so anyone could walk in off the street. This was especially scary when we (as 2 young girls) came back late that night and there was no light by the staircase, so any creep could've been lurking around. The room was so small you couldnt walk without banging into something, the bathroom didn't even have a real door, and smelled REALLY strange- like mildew and old lettuce. The sheets were clean, thank god. There is a good Wifi connection and the close proximity to the beach are about the only things I liked about this place. Otherwise, it was super dingy and not a value for the money.

I highly recommend this stay. We were greated right away and given plenty of useful information. The location is only a block from a gorgeous beach and the room was very spacious, and surprisingly came with a lovely kitchen equipped with cooking ware, glasses & more. We were offered beach towels if needed as well as the use of beach cushions. We were within walking distance of shopping, nightlife, beach & market. This was the first time we had been to this country and the stay was fabulous. Thanks.

Nice and clean hotel perfect with little kitchen and very close to the beach. Nice surroundings also with good shops etc. Very kind people working there. Would absolutely choose this hotel again.

For a 1 star hotel it was excellent. 1/2 block from the beach. Perfect location. Very clean and updated rooms. Only draw back was it was hot and our air conditioning broke. They did try to fix it, but no success. Good for a night or 2, but probably not long stays.

If you look for an inexpensive good hotel choose this one. If not, take Negresco in the front and pay a lot of money. Le lido is good value for the money. Rolf & Maria

We stayed in room w/ kitchen..The room has a nice window looking at the back of the Negresco where people who live in apartments go in and out. It was noisy but clean and pleasant. The entry lobby is a cramped hallway with absolutely no care given to the affect it has on the traveler.

This hotel was perfect for a friend and I spending a long weekend in Nice and the Riviera. Less than a 15 minute walk to the train station and just a couple minutes from the beach! The room was perfect and exceeded expectations and the staff was unbelievably helpful, offering tourist info, beach towels, etc. Our only complaint was that the beds weren't very comfortable but for a 3 night stay, we didn't mind. Would stay again!

L'hôtel est très bien situé, juste derrière le Negresco. C'est en fait un appartement où les pièces ont été aménagées en chambres d'hôtel. Les chambres ne sont pas très grandes mais suffisantes, elles sont très propres et bien aménagées. Nous avons apprécié la plaque de cuisson et le frigo qui permettent de prendre un repas sur place. Depuis l'hôtel on accède très facilement aux rues commerçantes alentour. La place Massena et le vieux Nice sont à quelques minutes de marche de l'hôtel.

We stayed at Le Lido at the start and re-booked for the end of our stay in Europe. The hotel is one floor of an apartment block right behind the Negresco, so it is well-located. It is family run and the managers are very helpful, friendly and accommodating, prepared to adjust their hours of attendance if given notice. Our first room looked onto the courtyard garden at the rear and was very peaceful. Our second room overlooked the street and so got winter sun. In summer, I'd choose the courtyard room, as the street may be noisier. Hydronic heating was set at a comfortable level. Each room had basic kitchen facilities so, with small shops nearby, we could prepare some of our own meals. Restaurants and cafes abound along the promenade and in the streets nearby. It is a 15 minute walk to Place Massena and Vielle Ville (Old town), the train station and the main bus station. There's an Internet cafe two blocks away on Rue Buffa. A couple of suggestions for improvement: towels could be softer and the cleaning chemicals for the main entry need to be low-odour/non-scented. Take the number 98 airport bus to Gambetta and walk on 3 minutes, rather than let a taxi driver charge you 35 euros for a 5km journey!!!

Fantastic location, just behind the Negresco - the most famous Nice landmark. Very friendly and helpful owner who was there to greet us. Hotel changed hands while we were staying, but new owner seems just as welcoming and helpful. Basic accommodation,very small bathroom, but with added value of cooking facilities and tiny fridge. We bought materials and made delicious picnics. Whole place needs redecorating and updating, but great value for money.
