Hôtel La Pérouse - Nice

The location of this hotel is truly outstanding. It's an easy walk to market areas and other attractions and there are great views of the beach. In fact, the view from the top of the hotel has to be one of the best in the area. The pool area is lovely. The restaurant was excellent, with particularly good service. They have a bar, but they really don't offer much other than wine and don't have a bartender. The staff was very helpful. The layout of the hotel is rather unusual and it's not at all handicapped friendly, nor is it a good property for anyone who has difficulty walking or navigating stairs. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay.

We had an absolutely good experience with the hotel. All employees were polite, warm and helpful in any way. The food were delicious and there is a charming atmosphere.

Hotel La Perouse was every thing it said on the can. Good location and helpfull staff (their knowledge of English was excellent and were well able to help us find our way around Nice and the surrounding area)and our room was excellent. It was spacoius, had a large balcony and veranda overlooking the sea. The bathroom was excellent, roomy and clean with ample hot water. We took a board only reservation. We found that the dining room was very expensive and drinks extortionate. However we could not fault the service or quality. If only the drinks and food had been more reasonably priced we would have spent more of our time and money in Hotel La Perouse. The person in the next room smoked cigars on his balcony, fequently causing us discomfort and we therefor were unable to enjoy as much time there as we would have liked, we even had to close our window at night because of this selfish person. Over all we would definately return again.

We were very impressed. Everyone was extremely friendly.

Excellent hotel and location. Only disappointment was that the full restaurant was closed in November. I don't remember this being highlighted on the web site.

Junior suite

We were in Nice for three nights. Hotel La Perouse was beautifcully situated, within easy walking distance to Old Nice. We had a balcony room with a gorgeous 180-view of the Mediterranean. We did not have the hotel breakfast (20EU per person!) but did have dinner at the hotel one night. Great food. But two of the three days we stayed there we received towels that were visibly dirty---not what we expected from a 300-euro per night room.

Excellent location. Beautiful views from room exactly as pictured on web site, however our room was certainly smaller than the double rooms pictured. A guest we spoke to said he'd been coming back to this hotel for years and it's the best location in Nice. You absolutely must try the restuarant "Baud & Millet, Restaurant de Fromages". It's very close to the hotel and the food (and wine) is unbelievable. The two brothers who run the place are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about this place. We had very poor restaurant experiences in Nice until we found this gem.

Lovely hotel in lovely location. Great position for the Old Town and views to die for. Pay attention when you arrive, though, to get directions to get out again!

Pour le prix payé la chambre était minable, la décoration affreuse nous nous serions crus dans un hotel Ibis seulement le prix était de 150€ sans petit-déj !! Bref je ne le conseillerai à personne si ils ne font pas de gros efforts pour changer toute la déco !!

Fantastic!

Stayed at La Perouse for 4 nights in april 2004 based on reviews. Location, price and pics were exactly as quoted. Views from the balcony were truly amazing. Breakfast was adequate but too expensive and not included in price of room. Overall had a great stay and would only do it again if I had the money to splurge.
