Hôtel Elysée Palace - Nice

For us, it was absolutely perfect. Close to the beach but also close enough to the restaurants and shopping areas. Next time when we go to Nice, we return to this Hotel.

Good place but they have no ocean view rooms, only partial view, which is not what I expected and what was promised on the web site. All windows are locked.A bit disapointed...great location, walking distance to all interresting places

Hotel is extremely shabby and is in need of refurbishment. Good staff.

The standard was not as good as expected.Bathroom shower was broken and took them 2 days to fix.Room much too warm as air conditioning,even at lowest setting unable to cool room to a comfortable level,especially at night.Restaurant service at dinner appallingly slow.Breakfast buffet would have been good if staff had properly monitored food quantities available.Unfortunately,some of the hot food had run out and the staff much too slow replenishing.One morning we waited 20 minutes for scrambled egg to be replenished,nothing appeared so got fed up waiting and left. Would never stay at that hotel again. Have been to Nice 5 times.

We booked a junior suite are were immediately disappointed with the quality of the room. The decor was tired and worn out and was not at all what i would expect from a 4 star suite. The room was spacious enough however. Felt that other areas of the hotel were just as worn and would say that the whole place could do with a bit of a refurbishment to bring it back up to a quality 4 star status which would matching with the prices they charge! Location is good though there certainly arent real sea views. Would definately go back to Nice but not to this hotel.

The hotel was decent enough, and it looked nice, but there were some REALLY serious flaws: 1) The location is untrue. The map on venere.com puts it in the best section of the bay of angels, but that's an intersection. The actual hotel is 1.5-2 kilomters farther away - actually outside of all of venere.com's maps. We walked A LOT! In addition, the address of the hotel is promenade de anglais 59. Although that is officially correct, that is not the address. The hotel is located an entire block away from the promenade de anglais - actually on rue de sauvan. 2) The room air condition never went below 23-24 degrees celsius - even at the coolest and at top speed. Hotel maintenance looked at it, and assured us that it was the best they had to offer. That's not air condition in my book. 3) The supply of hot water was so shifting, that taking a shower was a temperature roulette. It went up and down every single time. Although the hotel looked nice, and the roof terrace was nice, this was a total ripoff. Reasonable expectations, based on upfront information, was very far from being met.

Bad service when we went to leave - the carpark was pitch black and they expected me to go and fetch my own car... i complained and then they got it for me. Bar tender was a classic - overall good stay.

The web site and address give the impression that the property is on the promenade - which it clearly is not. Sea view room did not have much of a sea view! Business facilities in room are poor - the desk is too low to work on - no leg room. Also, bo broadband internet.
