Quality/price this hotel is perfect. Clean, small rooms, near the tramway or 20 minutes walking distance from downtown. Perfect for those who have a little budget and want a not so bad experience... I usually traveled in 4 and 5 start hotel!

On our arrival at The Hotel Comte de Nice we were welcomed by the staff who were friendly and helpful,we were offered a choice of rooms, the rooms (2 doubles) although small are more than adequate, The hotel is ideally situated for exploring Nice and the Cote d'Azure due to its proximity to the train station and although breakfast is not included in the price it represents excellent value for money.

Request a room with air conditionning or on lower floors if you go in summer; top floor rooms are unbearably hot with no a/c. First floor rooms are OK but rooms with a/c are the best and well worth the price difference. Don't plan on using the parking garage underground if your car is bigger than average.

Very bad and unfriendly, unmannered employees at the desk. Some German girl with no manners really behaving bad and arrogant. They gave me wrong information on where to park my car which ended in a fine for me and the hotel employee just laughed and said it was not their problem. Such a bad service....

Room facilities were nice except bathtub which was bit awkwardly placed Could not understand why checkin could not be provided when we reached 4 hours in advance ( 9am in morning ) of supposed check in time. It was ridiculous of them to suggest that we should have booked one day more for this. Definitely some rooms would have been available as there is no way hotel would have been fully booked.. Location is fine. But something nearer to Promenade des Anglais would have been better and saved some time . Best thing about Nice is the tourism office next to railway station. Staff is fabulous and they can guide u the best on how to go about exploring cote de azur

Nice trilingual concierges (English French German) who were always too busy. Reception area clogged with visitors coming and going and their mountains of luggage. There was a fierce electrical storm and water came in through a skylight to soak one of the beds! Not necessarily their fault though.

It's a little far from the old central town. the room's small and there is no air conditionner even in summer. besides, the bath room is very very narrow and you have to hold the shower head all the time because there is no fixation on the wall

We stayed at Hotel comte de Nice for 2 nights in late July. The service of a male staff at the night shift was miserable who could not understand and speak normal English and his rude attitude was also offensive. The triple room we were given was very small and very hot. The bathroom was very small and had no effective ventilation in it.As a result, after having a shower. it was like a sauna room. Fortunately, on the second day, with the help of the nice lady staff, we moved to the air-conditioned roof unit. Although at higher rate, we were much happier. One thing we do not understand: why the hotel does not fix the shower-head on the wall so that the guests do not have to hold it when they are having a shower?

Room was small, although we had a extra bed in there so for just 2 people would be more spacious. Hotel is in a good location - a quiet street off the main thoroughfare. The directions were not very good but the main street had major roadworks on it so the bus stops were wrong. It is actually easier to walk from the Railway Station than to take a bus. Overall a convenient, cheap place to stay, clean rooms and helpful staff.

The hotel was quite good, expecially the price to quality ratio. Keep in mind that if you are going to have an holiday in this hotel, you can found out something closer to the downtown at the same price. Probably it would be safer!

This hotel is modest but clean and quiet. It is at 5 min from the railwail station of Nice. The very center of the old Nice, that I strongly advise for typical restaurants pubs and coffee shops, is at 20 min by walking or less by bus. The hotel staff is mainly german and speak french, english and german. Excellent ratio quality/price.

There was no initial clarity of room types available i.e. double room meaning a twin room, This created booking problems. Avoid room no 2 as it is next to the dining room. Also you got disturbed at night with the lights going on and off in the walkway to courtyard rooms. The directions to the hotel were very poor and did not say about the road works which made a detour of the number 23 bus. For reference the bus stop is Vernier and head towards the SPAR shop. But don’t let this put you off this hotel. We stayed for seven nights and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Good base for us to explore Niece and the outlying areas. Close to the Train Station and the new tram system going in. Making it suitable for travellers on a budget and we would definitely use this hotel again.

Excellent value (for Nice) and very helpful. It suited us fine as we wanted to travel next day on the Chemin de Fer de Provence (Train des Pines) and its brilliantly located for that - and not bad for the main SNCF station. If you were holidaying in Nice you would want to be out during the day - the menus were very basic, though breakfast was fine. The rooms on the top floor have some very low ceilings - if you are inclined to bang your head, ask for a lower floor when booking!

Small but clean hotel. Except for shower defect (no hanger) everything was alright with the room and as other guests had mentioned two keys were offered to chose between two rooms. The area is far from the beach but actually you can walk and enjoy the city sights on the way down to the beach. I believe Nice Tramway will soon start to work so the access would be evn better in the near future.

We really enjoyed our stay: the room was clean and tidy and the service was quite fine. Breakfast is charged separately (5-7 euro per day depending on the length of your stay). Only shortcoming: the rooms are badly soundproofed and you can (clearly) hear your neighbour(s) flushing the toilet. Just to sum up: "Comte de Nice" is a good middle-class hotel and the relationship between price and quality appropriate.

I thought the hotel was fine for the price - a fair bargain. The welcoming staff and the departure staff were really wonderful young women who seem to be aware that the hotel industry is a service industry. The guy who was at the night desk was rude and extremely unaccomodating, however, when I asked him for an extra pillow, becasue we had only recieved one when we checked in and he acted as though I had asked for a five course meal to be served at midnight. He was extremely put out and rather obtuse to the fact that the customer comes first. And I did not think that my request was all that out of line.

Value of money accomodation in the heart of Nice. Very friendly and helpful staff with 24 hr manned reception. Please note that the accomodation is quite far from the beachfront and promenade (approx. 40-50 min walk), although you can reach it by bus (10-15 min), which operates until 1 am. Another point to note is that the all four of the wheel covers on our Mercedes were stolen on the first night whilst parked at the open parking lot right next to the accomodation. Comte de Nice does offer underground parking, however it is pricey and the entrance is extremely narrow (no 4x4 or luxury cars).

The hotel was very easy to find from the train station. Upon arrival, I received a very friendly welcome and was given 2 keys to go choose which room I wanted to stay in. The room I picked was very clean and I did not get the feeling of being closed in like other typical small hotel rooms in Europe. As this was my first visit to Nice, I did not know the city. When I asked the front reception for directions to go to post office, restaurants and the harbor, she took her time to give me detailed route to the destination. The breakfast buffet offered by the hotel (for the price of 7 euros) were great. The croissant was very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, ham and salami were delicious and gave other choices of yogurt, fruit cocktail, cereal, bread and orange juice. I would definitely return to this hotel again and highly recommend it to other travelers looking to visit the beautiful French Riviera of Nice.

The hotel was clean, well positioned, not far from railway station but a long walk from the beach.our rating on noise level was due to other very loud guests on the same floor, when this was taken up with the staff the problem was overcome. A very nice little hotel - about half an hour's walk from the beach/Promenade/old city, and close to many restaurants and stores. Also very handy for the train station. Tiny rooms, but clean and comfortable. The concierge was very friendly and helpful! Be aware that the breakfast is NOT included in the price, and buy a baguette from a nearby bakery instead. The biggest problem was thelack of air conditioning causing us to check out after only two nights of a planned seven nights. anoterproblemwasthe condition of the bathroom floor, broken and loose tiles could very easily have led to an accident. As we checked out we were asked for reasons for leaving but the receptionist seemed to sympathise. We actually checked into another hotel very close by and the owner knew where we had come from, and said that it was a regular occurance. Tis hotel was the Mirabeau if you wold like us to fill a questionaire about this hotel we would be happy to oblige

We had a lot of difficulty in choosing a hotel to stay at in Nice because we had heard many bad reports about the accommodation standard at a range of hotels. The hotel is appealing from the outside and in the foyer. The reception staff are excellent, both professional and friendly. The staff we encountered all spoke good English. We were given a choice of rooms - one was smaller but more modern, the other larger but not as modern. We chose the larger one. The room was comfortable with TV, desk, lounge chair and wasn't at all cramped. The bathroom was quite nice aswell. The room we chose wasn't modern but was well kept. They offer breakfast but we didn't choose to have it because it was more than we wanted to pay. It is not a 5-star hotel but is good value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I have been very satisfied in the end with this choice. It has been an excellent base for my participation on the Marathon de Monaco. The hotel is very near (5 minutes) to the train station with good connection to Monte Carlo and to Nice airport by bus. The hotel itself you'll find in a quite street. The staff has been very friendly, the room has been OK, clean and included a TVset (with German programes!) and bathtub, which has been perfect to relax after finishing the marathon. The only disadvantage has been the distance to the old city of Nice. It has been nearly 30 minutes by feet. But this wasn't the most important fact for me. In relation to the moderate price the hotel is nearly perfect. My choice for this hotel as a marathon base has been verified by meeting there nearly 15 other runners. Most of them were booking it as a complete marathon trip by a specialised German travel agent ...
