This is a good option for one night for the convenience of the town center. The rooms are clean, fairly standard and quite modern. A lot like the standard of a premier inn. The triple room I shared was so small it actually made us laugh when we arrived.

The hotel was clean, modern and functional. Very reminiscent of Premier Inns in UK. As a single traveler it suited my needs for a short stay. Although I had three single beds in my room I cant see three people with luggage being able to share the small space. My only disappointments were the coffee at breakfast, the unattractive breakfast area and the WiFi which needed the login procedure every time you used it. That said I would certainly use it again.

The photos do not really help you understand how small the rooms are. They are adequate for a short stay but more than 4/5 days you would struggle to have room for clothes. But ideally located, great staff and a decent if slightly expensive breakfast. Perhaps 7 Euros would be a better charge.

I have been in Nice a lot of times but never stayed at this hotel. The location for this hotel is perfect. Close to old town and Place Garibaldi. The bus (no 98) from the airport stops 300 at Place Garibaldi and so does the tram. The room is small, but everything else give you very much value for the money. I will come back!

The hotel is close to Place Garibaldi, about 10 min walk to the beach and close to the old town. The staff is nice and welcoming and the room was a bit small but nice and clean. I was in Nice for study and holiday and this hotel was the perfect solution for me. It is a very simple hotel with free wi-fi and air conditioning in the rooms and i would definitely come back again if going to Nice for the same reason. If i have to go for a romantic Holiday i would probably look for a different hotel, maybe closer to the sea and with bigger rooms. Last thing, the hotel offers breakfast only (which i never had as it was not included in my rate and there are lots of cafes in the town). Restaurant is not available in the hotel however this is not a problem as it is plenty of restaurants all around in Nice!!!

A really excellent value for money hotel with really helpful staff, nothing too much trouble, booking taxi, giving directions etc, making sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Room was spotless, toiletries provided and replenished daily along with towels if needed. The location is brilliant, being on the edge of the atmospheric old town and round the corner from Place Garibaldi which is a beautiful square with restaurants/cafes where we sat out at night and had some excellent reasonably priced meals and wine. The pretty port and the promenade are a short walk away. The tram and the buses stop near the hotel including the airport bus number 98. This stay was just a short break but we will return to Nice and definitely stay at this hotel again. Can't fault it.

Situated in downtown Nice, although an older hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of our room and bathroom. There was a slight odour but you would expect that from an old hotel...but really clean. The rooms are small, but hey, you are in Europe so enjoy! The area around hotel has some lovely piazzas where you can sit and have some wine or full course meals, or check out the museum of modern art which is right across the street.

There were no towels in the room by arrival, and the sheets had stains. The reception staff had too much to do, but were polite and friendly! I have been in this hotel for 3 nights in May 2011. The staff is competent and helpfull. The room was quite small but as I was alone, it was not a real problem. The room and the bathroom were very clean. Breakfast (buffet) offered a lot of choice. There is no restaurant in this hotel but "le vieux Nice" which is very close to the hotel offers a lot of nice restaurants. The hotel does not offer parking. I recommand this hotel.

We liked the Campanile so much last year that we came back. It was the best value we could find, with friendly, efficient, helpful staff, and fast check in and out. Great location, near bus station, tram, old town and new town. Strong shower and bath in clean bathroom with lots of toiletries, also a kettle with teas, coffees and biscuits. We asked for a quiet room and had a lovely view from the 8th floor. Compact rooms with limited storage, and not much English on TV, but ideal for us.

We were delighted being welcomed by Lisa, after driving on Cote d'Azur. She is certainly one of the most valuable staff member of the hotel. Her friendly and professional attitude makes our staying in the hotel comfortable and quite homey. Add good location (15 min walk to the heart of Vieille Ville) and, considering price, you will get one of the most satisfying hotels.

The hotel is in a convenient area, within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. We parked our car in the lot across the street which was relatively safe though not particularly cheap. I believe we paid about 190euros or so for parking overnight (+ some time in the late morning/early afternoon). We did not have breakfast at the hotel so can not comment on the food. There is a decent cafe close-by (1 min walk) so we ate there instead and saved on breakfast cost. The hotel has free internet access which is a plus, though the system was down during my 2-night stay =( I would stay at the hotel again if I'm in Nice next time because of the price/quality. If you are looking for a very basic, relatively inexpensive, clean hotel then this is a good choice.

Excellent location near Acropolis where our convention was held. Also near the main bus station and Old Town. Many nice restaurants near the area and the tram is convenient for getting to other parts of town. Our room overlooks the gardens making my wife very happy even though the room is really too small for two persons. There is even no place for our luggage. The coffee/tea making facility and the free internet makes up for the too small room. It is our first time to book with Campanille and can say their people are friendly and helpful.

If you need simple good value I recommend it here. Just steps away from the bustling night life of the old Nice you're not far from the maze of restaurants that make old Nice such a neat attraction. Maybe 15 mins away from the more expensive main strip on the beach area. I found the value to be a bargain and covered my needs. Clean rooms with hardwood flooring and very helpful front desk. No gimmicks no frills.. just a solid stay for a good price. If you're on a budget I'd recommend it here.

We stayed in the Camponile for a long weekend in October. As a base to explore Nice it was ideally placed on the edge of the old town and excellent value for money. The hotel was clean and well run and in a relativeley pleasant neighbourhood although there was a lot of development going on around the area. Great Staff and Very accomodating (and spoke english well)! 24 hours at the desk so great when coming home late. Room 803 was fantastic with a balcony view of the Contempory Art Museum and surroundings (Huge Square Head Sculpture). Even though there is work on the tram still going on, that did not disturb our sleep or stay at Nice and the great thing about this hotel is its local to Old Town and a walk away from great food (Nicoise Socca for soca at 2 euros and mussels+chips for 7 euros!) About a 10 min walk to the beach but who cares when your walking through Old Town surroundings. We opted out of paying 8 euros for breakfast, instead there is this quality local cafe (on the same road opposite the bus depot) that sell freshly baked cakes and pastrys with coffee for about 2 euros. Only bad point I would say is that our check-in was not until 2PM instead of the 1PM it said on the package but instead we left our bags in their secure holding cupboard and we just walked around the Promenade instead. Do not go into Casino Rhul, rubbish excuse for a casino (will not except 5 euros in the slot machines), best to go Monte Carlo (Bus 100 for 1.30 euros) and casinos in there are more impressive. Follow he oldies for the best slots to go too, for some reason they got a six sense for fully loaded machines!?

The hotel is in a great location. It's 2 minutes walk from the main bus station (which happens to be the last stop on the bus from the airport). It is on the very edge of the old town which makes it a great base to explore and find places to eat. The sea/promenade is only a 10 minute stroll away also. outside the hotel door is the moderna art museum. Rooms are compact, but are fit for purpose and very clean with a good bathroom. The rooms are also nice and quiet, especially considering they are on a main road (with lots of work going on outside when we were there). Reception team are knowledgeable and helpful and the recption is manned 24 hours. I can't comment on the breakfast as I never opted to take it. We simply got breakfast from one of the several supermarkets or Boulangerie's located next to the hotel. The only thing to watch out for - the roads are extremely uneven and in a bad state of repair due to the works going on for the tram track installation, if you are not sure on your feet it may not be ideal. Otherwise I can highly recommend it !

However the major source of noise was due to other guests talking loudly in the corridor or other rooms during sleeping time (2-3am sometimes): internal isolation is quite poor. No Internet access: only paid access that is incredibly expensive. Central zone with nearby "Gare routiere" (300m) were bus arrive and depart to the airport. Easy walking to other places and close to Conference centre.

My first time to Nice and was impressed overall at how cheap you could find hotel rooms compared to anywhere else I had been in Europe! I was arriving after 8pm so I called the hotel to ask what bus I needed to take from the train station. The girl answering was very friendly and helpful in telling me to take bus 4 and to get off infront of the Acropolis. She then gave me the walking directions from there. Which is only crossing the street and just past the supermarket, across from the gardens. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and cheerful. My room was nicer than what I figured it would be from the picture. Very basic but very clean, comfortable bed and pillows, bathtub with shower that had good pressure and lots of hot water. Only problem I saw was that there was some mildew in between the tiles in the shower that should be taken care of. My room had a fake hardwood and no carpeting, which made the room feel that much cleaner! The size was perfect for me, being a single traveler.I was 6 floors up so I had a nice view of the Acropolis, Gardens and Museum of Modern Art. Even though at a fairy busy intersection, the windows did their job well at blocking out noise and I'm sensative to that. The room even had a kettle with a couple types of tea and instant coffee along with a couple of cookies which were complimentary. There are no blow dryer in the room but can get one from the front desk but must leave ID card/passport in exchange. Maps available at front desk when asked for. Do add .70 tax to final bill-read the fine print and don't be surprised. Didn't get breakfast, unable to comment, believe it was 8 euro. Positive experience, would recommend hotel for a stay.

The hotel is located 5-10 by foot to all sights and restaurants on a major street in a clean neighbourhood. The rooms are very clean and inviting and are a good size. The bathroom was very clean and had a good shower. Basically the room looks exactly like in the picture. All staff were friendly, the breakfast was extensive but very expensive. I would say the hotel is slightly overpriced, but still worth it. Would definitely come back.

This is a great hotel to base yourself in Nice. It is near the old town which has lots of interesting shops, stalls and wonderful restaurants. It's also a short walk to the beach and the port. The car parking location they recommended was the only down side it was really expensive (Promenade des Arts) so I would look for another parking location next time. Overall a lovely City to visit.

Nice little hotel - close to the old part of Nice, and from there, about a 8 minute walk through the winding streets to the seaside, a little far of a walk from the train station; however, there are a few buses that go near there, and the hotel was helpful in telling us via email how to get to their hotel from the bus. I believe it was bus #4 (across the street from the train station) to the Acropolis/Pont du Barla stop, then a 3 minute walk from the bus stop. The hotel was clean but the rooms were tiny. The staff was generally helpful but a little bit on the brusque side (perhaps this is just a general "French" thing). The rooms and hallways smelled like smoke or old smoke, so that wasn't terribly pleasant. Still, decent value for the money, especially in Nice. And! There was air conditioning, which was nice. Also a bit noisy in the mornings, as you can hear people in the hallways closing their doors and/or chatting. Overall not a bad stay; I would return.

Contrary to the claims on Venere.Com this hotel is a LONG walk (50-60 minutes with lugguage) from the train station and it is about a 25 minute brisk walk to the beach. It was difficult to find given the limited information available on venere.com and varying street names on maps. It is near the contemporary art gallery and the statue of the cube coming out of a head. The 3pm checkin time was very inconvenient for us, having arrived at 11am and requesting an early checkin. There were no facilities for us to use in the interim. The room was clean, modern, soleless and well located to the old quarter where there are nice places to eat, and there is an asian and normal supermarket close by. Air conditioning worked well. Price quoted excluded tax, which we were informed of only at time of departure. This dishonesty in advertising and doing business is highly objectionable to us and means I would not recommend this place to anyone or return myself. Breakfast was not included. Our room was as small as it could possibly be with no place to put lugguage and retain a path to the bathroom or the door. Room door could not be locked from the inside and lock was faulty for external access too. A massive tram line construction project resulted in endless jack hammering commencing at 7am right out side our hotel window (July 2006). The neon hotel name light kept the room bright throughout the entire night. Nice itself was a very pleasant and beautiful city.

It's my first time to go to Nice and Campanile gave me a good impression! Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Though the location is a bit not very convenient, neither near to the beach nor the train station (that's the only drawbacks, I guess), but the area is ok and not very noisy at night. The room is very clean and tidy. With such services, I think the price is more than reasonable though the cheaper is always the better for backpackers! I have to say I had a nice time in here!

This is a far better hotel than the Kent. Rooms are small but well kept and serviced. Air Con works well. Ideal location for bus station and old town. Breakfast good but a little pricey. Staff very helpful and spoke excellent English. I will stay here again.

This hotel was in a good location and was very reasonable for Nice but one thing just ruined it. The window!!! The window could only be closed using a handle that I had to request from the lobby and they only had one for the whole hotel. Well there was a landing right by our window so I did not feel safe leaving the window open all night. But then by morning time it because quite warm in the room, so I went downstairs to get the handle and they had already given it to the cleaning lady and they said I should track her down. I have never heard of something like this and I am not so picky, I know this is not an expensive hotel but it seems ridiculous to only have one handle for everyone.

It's in an awesome location of Nice. It's a 20 minute ish walk from the train station, and maybe a 10 minute walk to the beach/old town. The rooms aren't anything special, but we only used the rooms to sleep in so it wasn't bad at all. The only complaint is that we didn't have hot water for the first half of our stay. Made the stay kind of miserable after traveling all day.

Hotel Campanile is situated between the new and old towns, it is almost adjacent to the bus depot which makes getting about very easy. The hotel is very clean and practical, rooms are a bit on the small side. Our room overlooked a park and was pleasant. For a budget hotel I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel. Staff are pleasant and helpful.Breakfast at 8 euro is worth a try.

We stayed for two nigts. We had initially felt cold and requested for an extra blanket/cover, which was never delivered to us. Nonetheless it was not as cold as we originally felt and therefore ok. Location of hotel is very good: oppositing a huge park, next to the "Acropolis" (which you cannot oversee from a far distance) and the art museums, and very close to the old market and the Promenade. Bus stops are just on the main road of the other side of the park, and therefore is only 5 mins walk from the hotel. There you can catch a bus to the SNCF and other places. Do not try to walk to the SNCF though, it may look not too far on the map, but in fact it's very far away. Nice is undergoing local tram construction and the roads and traffic are all messed up, so be prepared for a not very easy/leisurely walk around for the time being.

in our opinion price versus quality was an excellent bargain. The hotel was a little bit farther away from the train station than we thought, about 30 min walking. The beach was about 15 min away as weel as old Nice.Breakfast was very good value for 7 euros. Would recommend this hotel anytime.

The rooms were very, very small, but this is not uncommon in older hotels in Europe. However, the service, location and assistance of the staff were all faultless. We would definitely stay there again. It is one block from the bus station. The airport bus, buses to Monaco and all the surrounding areas leave from this bus station.

This hotel was just perfect for us. We walked down to the marina for lunch in just a few minutes. And wandered down to the pdestrianised area for dinner. No need for taxis at all. We had the car and as the hotel has no car park we had to leave it in a paying multistorey car park over night. If we'd realised that you can park for free in the street over night we'd have done that. We did that the next day though. It was also free all day Sunday. Room was lovely, nice shower and no buildings looking onto the hotel, just an open view from the window. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Didn't try the breakfast though.

Great hotel: cheap and cheerful. Ideally sited for the Acropolis convention centre. Short walk to town. Staff very friendly and courteous. Room bigger than other visitors' feedback had suggested. Room had a spacious wardrobe and functional bath/shower room. Perfect if travelling alone e.g. conference, short break.

A fine ** hotel, good value for the price. EXCELLENT location -- tho the street itself is not charming, it's very convenient to walk into the old town, restaurants, the bus station, local shops, even the beach (15 min). Very helpful and accommodating staff. Great breakfast! It is nice to have air conditioning, but the system was in fact barely adequate rather than truly comfortable. Tiny room, with one small wardrobe, and barely enough floor space to live out of one's suitcase.
