Hotel Armenonville - Nice

The room was ok, but the wc position in the bathroom did not allow you to use it comfortably. (not enough room). Doors on the shower would have been much better than a curtain that clings to you (not enough room).Our room on the top floor tended to be noisy when other guest were using the hallway. The noise was travelling through the ceiling void. This was the first time we were guests at the hotel and we were very happy with our stay apart from the above.

The hotel is located a bit far from old town but it is reachable and the plus is free of parking. By the way you might feel not safe to walk at night. The room that I reserved is small so I upgraded to another room with more space. The bathroom is standard but the shower room is very very small. That is the worst thing that I got.

All in all we stayed in Nice for 7 days the first 3 days for pleasure and the last for business. The stay at the Armenoville was the best,the place has class. The facilities are well tended and everything works. The administration (family) is very attentive and well organized.The rooms furnishing is simple but tastefully chosen and you know that you are in the Provence(opposed to a 4 star where all cities are the same and is impersonal) The very well assorted breakfast is served in the nice garden, what more can you wish......

Quiet location, good off-street parking, free WIFI in rooms. We had a very pleasant stay.

10 mins walk from railway station and town and short walk to nearest bus stop and beach front. Set back from the road it can be a bit tricky to find the first time, set half way along Avenue des Fleurs, then up a small lane. Amongst a quiet, well maintained residential area Very secure with coded entry gates and doors, pretty, well maintained outside area with fruit trees for relaxing or eating breakfast. Owner was very friendly and welcoming, and spoke great English. It is obvious there is still some work to do on the renovation of this fabulous period French Villa but the original features are lovely. The rooms were large, and very very clean with Juliette balconys and shutters and small t.v. (only 1 English channel - CNN), I asked for(and had) a room overlooking the garden area. Excellent service, delicious, plentiful breakfast in bed or on patio everyday 7am - 11am, cleaners were unobtrusive but everyday we came back to our room we had fresh, immaculate bedlinen and towels and an extremely clean bedroom and shower room. My only complaint would be that breakfast is the only meal served but there are hundreds of restaurants locally and a supermarket 2 minutes away to stock up on snacks. I would highly recommend this hotel, and hope to go back again in the future. Compared to other hotels in this expensive area of France, I was surprised at the high standard of accommodation for a very reasonable price.

Although we booked early and paid extra for a balcony, our balcony looked out on the car park at the rear. We felt that early booking should have meant we had a balcony with a pool view. If you want a balcony you should stipulate a pool view or don't bother. We did not have breakfast but the evening meal was excellent French food at a reasonable price. Our room was just off the reception area and above the kitchens and was very noisey until the kitchens finished about midnight, after which it was very quiet. Very comfortable king size bed. Good size bathroom with good shower.

Extremely friendly staff. Room always cleaned perfectly. Lovely garden area for breakfast.

Would stay their again, if and when we go back to Nice. Very comfortable and clean.
