There was a horrendous smell of petrol/gasoline throughout the lobbies and corridors, which got worse at night-time. When we notified reception he responded by shrugging his shoulders. Plus, you can't open your mouth after 11 o'clock for fear your neighbours will bang the paper-thin walls down. Not worth the money.

This is a 1 star hotel in a 4 star location with 4 star views. Our initial room was quite shabby. The A/C didn't work and we asked for it to be fixed. When we returned after dinner it was not fixed and it was hot and stuffy in this shabby room. I complained and was told, "I'm sorry". That not being an appropriate response for me, I persisted and demanded a new room. We were moved to a room that was just as shabby and this one had huge burn marks on the drapes and cigarette burns on the comforter on one of the beds. The wood molding around the door to the bathroom was rotting. It's very well situated though and our view was very nice. But it's a shabby hotel in dire need of a facelift. It's advertised as 3 star and I think they get that by taking the average of hotel quality (1) and location (4) and view (4).

The hotel was awful. The air conditioning was virtually non existent, the staff didn't care. The only good thing about the hotel was a reasonable location

This hotel was in a perfect location for walking access to restaurants, shops and the beach. It is a bright, clean hotel with helpful staff. Our stay here was wonderful and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nice.

- Breakfast is too expensive (11 €) for what they offer - it is very noisy (new windows would probably help)

Confusing webpage, it didn't say if the rooms have balcony or not. And they did not, only two rooms had and here were a lot more expensive. the friendly staff put us in a superior room, but we only payed for a std room. the superior room was very small, You didn't want to spend any time in the room. I can only imagen how small the std rooms are... Overall the hotel was Ok, but my recommendation is to rent an apartment instead for this money, in that way one can have a larger accomondation with balcony. Other: breakfast not included, +11E sea view...well, if you leanded out the window maybe... very central location! friendly staff

Mattresses were bad and sagging. Room was very noisy because it was one floor above street level at an intersection with heavy traffic. Front desk employee was very helpful and understanding, but couldn't do much about the problems.

Website showed symbol indicating restaurant, this did not exist although continental breakfast was served. Bar facilities indicated were minimal and evenings only. Mini-bar in room only held two bottles of water, anything else would have to be ordered from reception. The hotel's 3-star rating is dependent mainly on it's situation close to the Promenade - definitely not comparable with a 3-star in Ireland (or Far East)

I was very satisfied with the location of the Hotel Ambassodor. However I found that the breakfast provided was poor value for the cost involved. The staff were very helpful and welcoming.

The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful and I enjoyed my stay there. The only fault I found was the quality of the breakfast for the price paid.

Very friendly atmosphere. Manager will help you with any enquiries and sells tickets for tour buses etc. It's really well located for beach and old town, but be careful of rock concerts in the open air theatre in the park out front, very noisy. Airport bus stops across the road.

The quest for a reasonably priced 3 star hotel within walking distance to shopping and night-life/restaurant districts was challenging. This hotel came up trumps for this. The location is very easy to find if driving in Nice city centre and also well located for visiting other areas around Nice. We would use this hotel again and recommend the staff helpfulness highly. Rooms are a bit dated but roomy and have a small fridge but no tea/coffee making facilities. Continental breakfast is 9 euros and fulfils the requirement with no extra frills.

I pay 15 Euros for a double bed modern 2 star hotel in the city centre of Lisbon, 60 Euros for a nice hotel in Paris, 50 Euros for an excellent hotel in South Africa so for a single bed it is overpriced

The room/view was fine. The bed was very uncomfortable (too soft). En-suite could be cleaner.

Good central location with seaview between promenade and old town! Next bus stop in 5-10 min walking distanse, but with easy bags the hotel is 20 min walk from the train station. No separate brekfast room - it is served next to the lobby room/breakfast not included in price, but at 11 EUR resonably good. Beds in twin rooms cannot be moved to separate walls due to design. Bathroom clean, personnel friendly. Unfortunately, we had no hot water for 45 min in the morning, but this might just have been bad luck, otherwise I would give the hotel one notch better rating.
