The rooms were so so dirty! There was some stuff from the previous guests. It was disgusting! I will never ever come back to this hotel. I hate the cheaters who show nice pictures on their website and when you go there you will be surprised! Except the location, nothing was acceptable. Instead of 70 Euro, if you pay 90, I am sure you can find something which is at least clean enough to feel comfortable.

I didn't expect that it was so hot in Nice, and there isn't air condition in the room. Next time I will book a hotel with AC if in Aug. Anyway, the price is ok even though the room is really small. Less than 10 min to walk to beach, 3 min to walk to tram station, restaurants are all around.

This was a wonderfully funny little hotel! If you're looking for a four star hotel for a luxurious stay this is not the place, but if you are an adventurous traveler looking for some great stories this is the place! The rooms are incredibly tiny- I literally had to stay in bed while my husband used the bathroom and then he had to get back in bed so I could get to the door. There is no air conditioning and the large windows open on to a busy street, but all of this added to the quirky charm for us. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful and we LOVED our stay! Word to the wise- the reason Nice stays so pretty is that all of the cleaning, trash pickup, landscaping gets done at night so as not to disturb the tourists, so it sounds like a construction zone outside your window from about 1am-5am. The price was great for being in a resort town and it was right off the main square. Very close walking to restaurants, trams and the beach. Skip the breakfast at the hotel and instead search out some local croissants and expresso. If you plan on staying here google directions before hand. The directions on their site are good but only get you to the tram stop. We wandered around for about an hour before we finally found it. Overall, great experience, but not for the weary traveler.

Room is extremly small - hardly possible to open a suitcase on the floor. Bathroom is sooo tiny - for a slightly overweight person, access to the toilet will be impossible. There is no room to stand behind the sink when the door is closed. Breakfast is not worth it(5EUR for 2 breads 1 orange juice 1coffee/tea). Rooms are very noisy (neighboors and street) There is no AC only a fan. Impossible to sleep with thr window open becuase of the very noisy people in the street (and I'm not picky...) Finally a plus point, the staff is very friendly and the location is absolutly perfect. Also, other hotels if this category in the area looked much worse! But next time I would probably spend a little more for a nicer place.

Travelled to France At the end of August. The week was extreamly hot, so lots and lots of water was required, sadly there was no fridge in my room, so I had a lot of half drunk bottles of water in my room, as they became quite warm overnight. Pity there was no fridge to keep it cold. The room itself wasnt bad, and fair play to the cleaners who kept it very clean for the whole week. Trying to dry my hair was a real challenge, as the only plug in the room was very hig up in between the wardrobe and a wall and hard to manipulate the plug into. There was no mirror in the room apart from the bathroom,so I went out and purchased one, and as I had to dry my hair in the room, trying to stretch the flex..well couldnt be bothered and found myself going to the hairdresser which cost me 25 euro. At breakfast I had to ask every day for milk for my tea, and then only hot milk could be provided, I also had to ask for a second butter as they were only the little pieces of butter, the breakfast lady was very pleasent, but some of the ladies on the reception desk were so surley, a little smile would have been nice. The genleman on the desk was very pleasent and at least smiled. There was a fan in the room as there was no air conditionong and if the window was open it was very noisy, would have been nice to have it open but I suppose it was all the holiday makers and traffic. On the whole the hotel wasnt bad but really needs to see to the little things, like a hair dryer, mirror and have the plug accessable, and maybe a fridge. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast utinsels were very clean. Hotel and room ok apart from the little things that make a difference when on holiday. Thank you all

The room was clean however it had a bit of a hospital feel and there was no refrigerator in the room as we were not allowed to have food of any kind in the room. The location was exceptional.

I stayed first time at Hotel Acanthe. The location of this hotel is very good and also the price was ok. Only the room was very small. I was on vacation with my good friend and we really spent excellent 11 days in Nice. I have been there many times before, but for my friend this was the first time and now we both will be back some day. We loved Nice and also the other little villages between Nice and Monaco. Nice has everything I need for vacation, lovely town, sunny weather, blue see, many, many shops and restaurants, museums etc and from Nice it is easy and cheap to travel to other places. I recommend always Nice to all my friends.

Reservations at first after being given room above main entrance. No need to worry hotel was quiet. Excellent location for tourists, walking distance to bus station and tram. Train station 10 min walk. Breakfast at hotel adequate at 5 euros, prompt service, good start to the day. Would recommend for short stay.

stayed in Nice for 4 nights, it's a lovely city, we loved it very much. Beautiful beaches, water sports available, nice restaurants with sea food. Would only recommend ! Nice at night was busy, with ice cream shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Skaters on the promenade and generally we felt safe and relaxed, welcome too !! 9/10 points

Great value: for my purposes (i.e. not luxurious, but practical & clean). That is important, as eating & drinking in Nice is relatively expensive. Central location. Lovely, helpful staff. I should definitely return there. "Mille fois merci."

Location is great and very central to everywhere and if you don't mind the rooms being basic and will be out sightseeing most of the time then this hotel is ideal. Our room had a really, really tiny bathroom. We asked to be moved to another room and the staff was great.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The wall is thin, so noisy. The shower was choked and dirty. And the second day, When I came back this hotel, the room was not cleaned!! Unbelivable. And I didn't know that the toilet is out of the room. Anyway I will never stay this hotel. It's the worst!!

If it's possible to get the "rotonda" room you will have fantastic view to the Place Massena. Great location, difficult to find parking place though (as usual in that area).

If you want to actually sleep, don't go here. The doors are all on spring hinges so they slam ALL NIGHT LONG. It's a really small room too

Good placement but the rooms are small. Beware: you have to pay a bit more than the established price due to some taxes that are not included in the price!
