Royal Station Hotel - Newcastle

My friend and I only stopped for 1 night in a twin room, but we arrived early and thankfully not only were our rooms ready but we could check in. The room was reasonably quiet with a view over the train station, it had a flat screen tv, bath and shower, also a real bonus a fridge with water, orange juice and a lovely touch a couple of kit kats, all in all a very pleasant stay and would definately stay and recommend this hotel again!! Well done.

Friendly staff who responded to our requests efficiently. The single room was spacious but the twin room was a little small. We did not find a guests lounge which would have been nice and the restaurant lacked atmosphere. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the position of the hotel is excellent.

Good place for the hotel, just two mn walking from the train station. And relatively quiet.

My stay was only 2 days but the hotel seemed well run and the staff were pleasnat and friendly. Only problem was the railway announcements early in the morning which we could hear in the room.

Really a rather excellent hotel , a very courteous staff, breakfast a little disapointing. Generally very good, clean, good service.

Rooms very quiet and well laid out.electric heaters available. ample supply of tea and coffee and daily stock up of juice, bottled water and biscuit which was a nice touch. Room service quick and keenly priced and good selection of tasty food on offer. beautiful lobby and excellent leisure centre attached. Proximity to railway station an added bonus due to easy access to and from airport.Happy with my stay there.

Actual hotel and rooms do absolutely not match the very pompous discription on the internet and in-hotel available flyers. Rooms are old, haven't been remodelled in years. Local people say it is one of the worst hotels in town. Absolutely not recommendable for the business traveller.

Excellent hotel for service and location, I would certainly use the hotel again on my next visit. There was some confusion over the type of room booked, I booked two single rooms and my documentation clearly showed this but on arrival at reception they had a reservation for one double room. The problem was delt with quickly and effecently by the staff and no discomford was felt.
