I stayed a couple of days at this marvellous and extremely beautiful hotel in August 2011. The service was really great, the staff were friendly. The proprietor told you everything you needed to know about the hotel and Newcastle. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Internet access was for free. It's really a value for money option (I paid 42 GBP a night for a single ensuite).

Had a lovely stay, was upgraded too for no extra cost and was given a special rate for an unexpected third night so I felt very looked after, plus the private parking is a real bonus as the area is a bit grim. The character inside makes up for that though! The food was excellent in the morning, I only wish they served later than 9am. The gentleman who checked me in was a little inexperienced so I wasn't offered help with my case and had to find my own towels but these are very minor details, overall I would highly recommend staying here.

Friendly and helpful staff, secure storage for our bikes was appreciated, helpful local info as it is a bit out of town, Good Indian resturant within walking distance,
