L'hotel è situato nel tranquillo quartiere residenziale di Jesmond (abitato principalmente da studenti universitari benestanti). La fermata della metro (west jesmond) necessaria per visitare la città (per lo meno per chi non la conosce) è a 7-8 minuti a piedi. Le camere sono piccole ed essenziali senza grandi finiture, la moquette non troppo pulita ma le biancherie e le lenzuola lo sono e c'è il necessarie per tè/hot chocolate.. L'english breakfast la mattina è ricco e completo ed il personale è gentile. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è buono.

Noisy guests at 3-4 a.m running up and down corridors; rather tawdry rooms and corridors with worn out and dirty carpets; on the plus side the breakfast buffet was very good, However, we will not be staying in this hotel again.

How to reach Cairn Hotel
By car
From Newcastle airport roundabout, take the first exit and after 101 yards (90 metres) take the second exit off the roundabout into A696 towards Newcastle (signposted A696 THE SOUTH and THE SOUTH via A1). Continue straight into the A696. After 1 mile (1.6 km) take the third exit off the roundabout into the A167 (Ponteland Road). Bear left into the A167. Then join the A167 (M) and reach the A1058. After 431 yards (400 metres) take the first exit off the roundabout into the B1600 (Osborne Road). Continue straight into Osborne Road for 0.25 mile (400 metres) until you see the property on your left hand side, next to the Lloyds TSB bank.
