The hotel location is in a great spot. Close to times square. When registering staff were not very informative about facilities. Just gave us a key and we had to ask what floor we were on. Had to ask what time breakfast was served and where located. Breakfast could have been more varied - scrambled egg instead of boiled eggs every day.

This hotel is tired and dated but delivers exactly what it says on the tin. Breakfast is adequate and sets you up for the day and the location is PERFECT for exploring the City. The Hotel is what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything different. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

Location is perfect & so close to so many attractions. The staff very friendly & rooms clean but offer very little 'extra space'. But it is Manhattan & space is at a premium. The room was very quiet, in fact it was the quietest room we had on our East Coast Trip (inc. Washington & Boston). But the automatic door closer on the room doors could do with a bit of maintenance - a bit of WD40 will go far not wake up everyone in the hotel! From a price perspective, it averaged us $372 per night which is expensive for us, but again it is Manhattan. My Wife loved the toiletries & the smell of them! We would stay here again given the location. If you want a room with a view & something more luxurious you will need to sell organs to pay for it on Manhattan Island!

No complaints about the room. I liked the fact that they had a 2nd curtain I could have closed to block out the city noises. Ice machine was way down in the lobby. Elevators were sometimes crowded. Huge line for the one-seater bathroom in the basement (there wasn't one in the lobby). Lots of businesses nearby (cluster of Irish pubs down the street; McDonald's around the corner). The street nearby was full of smushed food and vegetables after the Saturday flea market. Stored luggage with the bellman on checkout day. Watch out for expensive taxis: walk down the street to get the cheaper yellow ones. No real negatives, so it all went pretty well. This was one of 4 hotels I stayed in during my visit to NYC. It was my 2nd favorite, and the most expensive. My 20-year-old daughter stayed with me, and we had relatives in a couple other rooms who had stayed there before. Venere was good too.

The only complaint I had was the staff not leaving any coffee for 2 days to be able to use the provided coffee machine. The location was excellent. And we had a great time during our 6 day stay. There were a lot of very good eateries within a short walk of the motel. Breakfast room was very busy and the food was constantly replenished. My sister and I were very happy with our accommodation .

The hotel was good, the location to Times Square was great, there was a good selection of restaurants & cafes within walking distance of the hotel & it was also centrally located with access to the subway's we could be anywhere in New York fairly quickly. The bed was extremely comfortable & felt luxurious, the room & bathroom was on the smallish size but still manageable. The continental breakfast could have been better, I was really craving peanut butter or just something different from strawberry or grape jam. The gentleman who was in charge of breakfast every morning was also always grumpy & not very approachable. Overall though I would stay here again.

This was a very poor experience! The personnel is barely competent and nothelpful. The room was acceptable except thta it had no natural light (one small windowon a shaft). The bathroomplumbing was bad - the drain of the shower didn't work and a hotel employee had to come and fix it, and the toilet overflowed until someone came to fix it (he said it happened frequently but was on call for repairs). Going to a theater performance one night, I asked to reserve a taxi but when we were ready to go, the woman in charge told us she had been unable to find one...Avoid at all costs

I chose the hotel for price and location. Though the room had view of a brick wall and was small (understandable in NY) I commend the hotel for all brand-new furniture, large modern TV's, and extremely clean bathrooms. The cont breakfast was well above average. Once you have your bearings, it was an easy walk to Times Sq, 30 Rock, etc. I recommend for budget traveler.

We visited in September 2012. It was quite close to Times Square and Rockefeller Centre as advertised, but it was in little Brazil, and had many Brazilian guests staying there. Breakfast was included, with every bread product you can name plus cereal, yogurt and fruit. Tea and coffee available 24 hours a day in the lobby, which was good. Service was disinterested, but did the job. The room was tiny, the air conditioner was noisy and asthmatic, and it smelled like cigarettes and disinfectants. In fact, the entire stairwell smelled like disinfectant. Our room was right in front of the elevator, which made it quite noisy all the time. The bed was quite soft. It looked a lot better in advertising. Wouldn't recommend unless you get a really good rate.

There was construction right next to the hotel, it was pretty loud. Doors in the hallway were so loud that I woke up each time somebody used them. Housekeeping didn't fill products back up (e.g. toilette paper, Kleenex, shower gel) had to call front desk to ask for it. Very close to Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, Sak's Fifth Avenue...

The location was great, 20min from Central Park, 10 min from Time Square Cente, 5 minute from Empire State building and Rockafella center. The biggest complaint was the construction noise outside the building which started 12 midnight, kept us all awake all night. We did complaint to the front desk but they could do nothing about it. It would have been nice if they could have acknowledge the noise situation when we arrived, and offered earplugs to any rooms affected by outside construction. It realy ruined our trip as we never got a good rest. Complimentary breakfast was great for us as tied us all over until supper. Staff were helpfull. I would not come back if got same rooms on construction side.

This was a great find and I was pleasantly surprised. Reasonable price, good amenities and great location. My room was small but hey in NY you only need a place to sleep as you are out on the town. The location at 46 St & off 6 Av is fantastic - easy walk to 5th Ave, Rockefeller Center, Times Square,24 hr drug store, variety of restaurants.I like the guest area in the lobby which felt like a nice cozy living room. Continental breakfast and free WiFI sealed the deal for me. I had a problem with clogged bath tub one day and clogge toilet the next, but staff dealt with it promptly. They are most helpful and courteous. Breakfast choices are basic and OK. Make sure you get down early for b/fast as it gets busy (crowded). Over all its was a great weekend. I will most definitely stay here again.

When we first arrived, the lobby smelled faintly of cigarette smoke, but this went away by the next day. We stayed in a non-smoking queen room, as requested. Our room was on the 12th floor and was small but adequate. We did have one window with a decent view out the front. We enjoyed the little bar on the 2nd floor - too bad one can't get a light snack there. The breakfast was adequate and food was plentiful, but the breakfast room was very hot and stuffy, as if the HVAC system couldn't keep up. I noticed that the concierge desk was unoccupied several times during the day when I wanted to ask a question. The best thing about this hotel is the location - close to subway station, Times Square, MANY good restaurants, etc. And, it was a relatively good value given the location.

I see that they have added hard boiled eggs, flavoured coffee and pears to their breakfast menu....A pleasant surprise! I thank them for their effort to get some protein on the menu to keep me energized! I think that this hotel works very well for my friend and I, and I don't see myself staying anywhere else when I travel to New York! P.S. Just take the bags off of the hanger in the closet, take the hanger out of the closet, and invert it.Then take a bath towel and clip it on the hanger, and hang it on the hook on the bathroom door! I had a wonderful stay. It wasn't the biggest room but what do you expect? I was traveling with my friend and we didn't care about how big the room was. we just needed a place to sleep and shower. it was an awesome deal and the front desk guy knew the best chicken and rice place and was so helpful! Super friendly, easy to ask questions and to sort things out. I left my ipod in the room and contacted the hotel expecting to never get it back(whatever is left is usually free game for the workers who find it...) I got an email later saying that they found it and sent it back to me asap! Seriously. They are reliable, awesome location, and perfect for anything.

We LOVED the location - in the Times Square area wihout all the noise! Close to subway lines and the Rockefeller Center. We loved seeing the fabulous museums, probably the best-produced play we've ever seen, tasting New York hotdogs and delicious bagels everyday at our Hotel breakfast buffet, where there was plenty of seating. We took a boat cruise, walked in Central Park, and came home to a clean room every day. The staff was friendly, and the free interner helped us find half-price play tickets. Excellent location in Manhattan Midtown. We had the chance to get a spacious room on the top floor, which is rare in NYC in general. The hotel was rather quiet, if we skip the noise made by other guests in the hallways and the elevator box (just above). Breakfast is good. Stayed 4 nights and was completely satisfied and happily comfortable. My room was clean and spacious and nicely decorated. Wish there were more TV Channels as I like watching TV at night. The Concierge Service could be better in answering questions; they were young and not very New York savvy except for one I interacted with who knew a lot about getting around. The location could not have been better if you want to be close to Time Square, Rockerfeller Plaza and the designer shops on Fifth Avenue. The Lobby has 2 internet connections that make it easy to check for email messages and do some online research. The hotel guests and cleaning staff were friendly and cheerful and the hotel has a charming relaxed feel while feeling safe and secure the entire time. I will DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again the next time I visit New York City.

The Hotel at Times Square is a small hotel 2 blocks away from Times Square. In a city known for inflated prices & tiny rooms, it was a refreshing change. The price was reasonable, the location was great & the little extras like complimentary breakfast & WiFi made it even better. The room was not the quitest. The noise from the hallway & the street was loud but since the hotel is small not too many people are outside your room. The noise from the street is a bit of a New York thing & an issue at most hotels. The one thing I really hated about the room was the glass panel in the bathroom door. This made the bathroom lack privacy & let in lots of sunlight early in the morning. I would recommend this hotel for travelers who want to be close to Times Square and are okay with a functional but not necessarily plush hotel. The hotel could use more people working their in the evenings as any glitch led to long line ups at the front desk.

Very pleased with this hotel. The room was larger than expected and very clean. (Slight mildew smell in bathroom, probably the shower curtain, but very minor.) They were able to check us in early and combined two separate reservations into one. Large dedicated breakfast room with plenty of the standard fare (cereals, bagels, donuts, coffee, juice, yogurt, bananas, apples, etc.) Good rate through Venere. Would definately stay there again. Just two blocks from the heart of Times Square and a short walk from Grand Central Station.

This is a great value. The rooms have all been renovated. They are on the small side, but perfectly adequate. The location can't be beat.

The Hotel at Times Square is centrally located, within five minutes walking from Times Square and the 5th Ave. The rooms are small, but enough to sleep and have a shower. A very positive and surprising point is that it is a very quiet hotel.

The location is ok and the price is very good. There was a lot of noise caused by a group of guys shouting and turning on the radio at 2.00 o'clock a.m. The personnel didn't do anything to help us. Breakfast is not so excellent and the clerks were not so kind. The hotel is good overall

Overall the hotel was disappointing for the money paid. The room was on the very top floor and there was only one lift to take you there which was very small and took forever. The breakfast was good but the room was very small and very nosiy as it was right beside a fire door which slammed frequently through the night.

The only problem I had was with the alarm clock. It didn't work except to beep every once in a while. Since it wasn't even connected, I just put it in the closet at night and used my own. The information given by concierge about shuttle to airport was confusing. Luckily the original time I was given and paid for was accurate. If the second person's time estimate was correct I might not have made my flight as easily as I did.

Nice hotel, centrally located on a not-too-noisy side-street. Breakfast is included in the room-price which is a big plus. Other plusses are a safety box in the room and a big TV screen. The charges for (local) telephone calls are moderate. The hotel also organises a transportation to the airport (a slow and cheap shuttle or but a faster and also more expensive private taxi). The reception officers are not extremely nice but somewhat tough New Yorkers - but what else would you expect in a big city like this? The only real drawback, perhaps, is that most of the rooms have very small windows and are pretty dark even on day-time. I wanted to swich rooms because of this but the new room they gave me wasn't any better than the first one. On the other hand, you won't probably be spending a lot of time in your room. Despite its name the hotel isn't at the Times Square but some three or four blocks away. Still, I was very satisfied with my stay at the hotel and would defitely consider using it on my next to New York, as well.

The place is cheap for its great location, and we could use the Internet in the lobby area, so that was quite convenient. The building next door was under construction, which made it kind of noisy in the evening, but I don't think this happens regularly.

I've been to this hotel many times and with this new management it has gone from okay to very good! The location has always been great for me. My room was small but clean and well decorated, the breakfast room was very nice and the food simple and plentiful. The staff was very helpful. I will DEFINITELY return again!

We spent two nights at the hotel @ times Square. The rooms were excellent, elegantly furnished and supplied with all needed. I had a problem with the hair dryer and the safe box, called reception and within 2 minutes the two problems were solved. Breakfast is included in the price, something that you cant find in other hotels in NYC. They have free wireless in all rooms but also they have two PCs connected to printers in case you need to print your boarding pass etc.. The staff is friendly and ready to help. We were surprised cause we thought that you cant get a nice hotel in a fair price in NY, and were truly surprized.

What a pleasant surprise when we arrived at the Hotel at Times Square! Myself and a high school friend (45 yrs ago!) went to visit another H.S. friend who lives in Manhattan. The room was small, but very clean and updated. The bathroom was very clean. Big screen TV. Continental breakfast in the morning which was a really nice "perk"..lots of fresh fruit, bagels, donuts, cereal, toast...more than enough to fill you up. We were on the 9th floor. The floor itself was quiet, but we could still hear noise on the outside. It didn't really bother us though.I would highly recommend this hotel for location, cleanliness, friendliness and price. We will definitly stay there again on our yearly visit to the Big Apple! And, we have already recommended this Hotel to family and friends.

Rooms and price are OK. Very comfortable matresses and pillows. Basic breakfast too, similar to Argentina. It has everything necessary for a week's stay for that price. Staff was correct though VERY unfriendly. Excellent location! Carefull with NY hotel's taxes and extras! It MAKES a difference in total rate.

it is just for having overnight stay near Times Square. The rooms are small, dark and unconfortable. Breakfast area is too small, often there are long lines and unconfortable sitting. Service at breakfast is bad (the service guys generally were in bad mood. Reception desk personal was good and friendly.

First stay at this hotel and I was very pleased. Stayed in #909 and had a nice view of the GE building. Loved the room, employees nice. Great location for getting to the usual places while visiting NYC. My only complaint was booking a car through the hotel to take us to JFK, paid a $10 deposit and once at the airport the driver told me the amount due was $65. The hotel quoted me a cost of $55 total. So be aware of this if booking a car through them. I will be staying at this hotel for future visits. Oh and be early for the cont. breakfast, the employees clean up early. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

There were some problems -1. the room TV did not get CBS and NBC and when we complained they sent a person who jiggled a few wires and then said it was the cable connection to the outside, and there was nothing that could be done. However one tripadvisor someone else had the same problem, you think they would have it fixed by now. 2. The breakfast area was being renovated so they had a free for all in the lobby which we did not even try on our first day because of the amount of people in a small area and on the second day my husband went down with a bag to bring back a few bagles to the room and the desk clerk was giving him harsh looks like he was stealing something. He felt uncomfortable but you would think they would understand given the small area that people would want to bring the food back to their rooms. This was not told to us when we made the reservation that there was renovation going on.
