Very basic but clean and well located near a subway station, you can be in the Theatre District in ~15mins. Stayed in a private room for not much more than some hostels were quoting for dormitory accommodation. Overall: adequate for a couple of nights but if staying longer it may be worth shelling out more for some extra creature comforts.

Well, you get what you pay for. It's a bare-bones place to crash while you soak up the sights and sounds of the big apple. Good inexpensive restos and a dynamite grocery right around the corner. Cold rooms and an ongoing problem with bedbugs. Management will not tolerate party animals. My friend was in a room next to a bunch that stayed up all night raving and when we complained, the management told us that the people had been asked to leave.

The service is very poor, and the price is too expensive for the commodities they give. The room we have was like a prison, and we pay u$s85 plus Tax, more than u$s100. In another places near, our friends have a very good apartment for the same price. Thanks, but this is what we think, we don´t live in this bad places never. Maria Teresa Pradere

Very nice low budget hotel. Excellent location, near Central Park, near subway station, just a few meters from Broadway Av. If you want to visit New York and need just a place to sleep without paying too much, this is your choice. Ps.: The price of the reservation will incriese because 1 million NY taxes (almost 25% total).

The hotel rooms are very basic, no chairs, no tv, with restrooms outside to be shared with other 5 rooms. The hotel is quite old, but clean and quiet. It is located in the Upper west side, near central park and the subway. so I guess this is probably the cheapest you can get in Manhattan. Good for budget conscious travelers only.

This was the worst hotel I had never had. First, I was not aware that the bathroom is shared. These bathrooms were dirty and repelling and toilet paper was never available. This is a trick because the hotel looks quite good from the outside, like in the photo of the venere web site. Besides, you must pay the entire stay when checking in and there is no refund, which makes you impossible to decide to leave the hotel before (as you could find it not enough comfortable) without loosing your money. This is simply scandalous.

Morningside Inn provided a basic, clean room with excellent employees. The building, located on 107th Street had a nice, neighborhood atmosphere. Although we only stayed one night, we will book this hotel again on future trips to Manhattan.

We were very disappointed by this Hotel. I do not recommend it at all. The room was very noisy. we booked twin beds and we got a double bed. On the web site, it was said that there would be a private bathroom and finally the only two bathrooms for the level were in the corridor ! If you could book another hotel, do it !

The worst hotel I've ever been. I was expecting an poor and cheap surrounding, but I found was even worse. The price is alot to high for the offered accomondation. Pictures presented on the homepage do not match the reality and bathrooms aren't clean and tidy.

JP, Belgium

5 days in the Hotel. Morningside Inn is located very convenient, close to the subway. It has shower and restrooms on the floor, not in the room, but I understand that this is a very cheap fare for NY. I saw a lot of young people staying there. You get everyday new towels, but there isn't a TV in the room. Helpfull and efficient staff. The standard was o.k. if you want only sleep, even if I am used to a better standard.

My friend and I awoke to bug bites all over our bodies. I'll admit that we weren't smart enough to mention anything assuming it was only a one-time thing. There were ants in the room and who knows what else. The showers on the second floor were impossible to control. You had to constantly turn the dial throughout your shower in order to get a temperature you hoped for (but was always cold or luke warm at best). The manager P----k is a decent person. We thought against complaining about the bugs and bites. (What could it get anyone after the fact?) Maybe that was dumb on our part. Regardless, I'll pay more next time for a nicer place to stay and I'll sure check any bed and floor before I accept a room given to me. We also encountered pinky-sized cockroaches in the basement where one can store luggage before/after checking in/out.

The MSInn Team is great ! Thanks a lot for hospitality. Everything that I needed them helped me with quality! The hotel is too close to everything that is necessary for a peaceful stay: markets, subway, pharmacies and more. Everything that in the website is available. I had only one problem: A water pipe inside of my room. When people bathing, make a lot of noise. :( Anything else, perfect ! When I'm back to NY I already know where to stay without fear. :) Must choose only a room without water pipe. ;) Thank you Venere, thank you MSInn Team !

This hotel is terrible!! There are bricks on the hall, the elevator is scary. But the worst thing is the manager, Mr Patrick. I´ve made a reservation through this website and when I got there, there was no room for me. I had been waiting for 1h to Mr Patrick got back from his diner. He has tryed to put me in a dirty room without bath (I´ve called the hotel to confirm bath in the room and he told me the guy that confirmed was fired 1 week before, but I´ve talked to him). After more than 10 hour flying I´ve got my bags and I´ve spent 4 hour looking for another hotel in NY. This guy was very rude. He started yellin in the hall (there is no reception, just this hall) trying to convince me that he´s solved my problem (he created). Don´t go there! Nobody deserves that hotel and that people!

We didn't know until we arrived that we would not have to share a bathroom. It was a positive surprise when we had our own. It was a short walk to several nice restaurants. Subway access was nearby as well.

The worst hotel I've ever seen: shabby, the people who are working there are totally unreliable and incompetent !!! Even though our room (with private bath) was confirmed by the owner himself, we were given another room (with shared bath) for the night. The next day we were supposed to move to our booked room and stored our luggage in the storage room. When we returned the same evening, they just stared at us and said: "We didn't think you'd come back so we gave your room to somebody else". And all this time our bags were in the storage room and they knew it !!! That's no way to treat anybody, especially not with a small child !

The hotel seemed fine, until I woke up with several large spider bites. I didn't find the spider(s), but it definitely happened while I was sleeping in the room. I won't stay again.

I spent some days in this hotel. The location and the surroundings area is pretty good. There's a subway stop 3mins walking from the hotel. The rooms are fine. Simple, for low budget travellers. Hotel's employees are incompetent at all. During my stay the hotel was managed by 1 or 2 teenagers. During my last night in US I flew from San Francisco to New York and I spent one more night in this hotel. When I got there the receptionist, he was about 16/17, told me that due to a mistake in the reservation procedure my room was already booked and someone else was already speeling in there. After a long discussion I got another room for the same price.

This Inn was in a great location for us - we don't like staying in the "tourist" areas. 107th W St is only a 10 min subway ride to Times Square but is located near lots of good restaurants & facilities. We were disappointed with the room because it was a little shabby - with very little work it could be so much better. Generally, we really loved our stay in New York and the room is only a place to sleep for a short while to regenerate the batteries!!

There is no reception at all, not even a chair; my son had to wait for us in the sidewalk. The manager is unpolite. A friend of us (whom I recommend www.venere.com) had to pay a higher rate for her room, although she had her room "confirmed" by the web page. The manager said they didn't have any available room of that type.

The area where the hotel is located is very good and well communicated with the centre of town. Although the room was quite small and we only have one bed to share for the two of us, for the price that we paid you cannot ask for more than a clean room in a good location.

We had to check out twice during five nights stay, because somebody had messed up our booking. But we had got our booking confirmed through Venere. They made us pay more than the rooms we had booked since they put us in other rooms. The manager was so rude to us.

The hotel promise you a lot of things but when you get there, the reality knowcks on your door. Its clean, but only on the first day since that is not room service to change your sheets or towels or even clean your room. The water can get freezing form one moment to other and they can take a great time to fix...Oh the phone...yes the phone is only a decoration thing on the bedroom and tv what is that i am still waiting for mine... But the place is located in a very good area, full of nice restaurants and near to the subway and to Central Park....
