Hotel The Jane - Manhattan, New York

The room was very small but it does it job. The common bath room was clean and almost never a que. The only bad thing about the hotel was the air conditioning in the room that was VERY noisy.

This is a fantastic hotel! One of the best locations in NYC, a stones throw from Chelsea Markets and the village. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the walk from the subway is very nice. Yes, the rooms are small, but for what you're paying it's excellent value for money. The showers and bathrooms are all spotless and I never had to wait for either. I look forward ot teh opportunity to stay again.

Not having the bathroom in the room is a problem, but toilets in the floor are cleaned often and I found them always in order, therefore I did not suffer this too much. Staff is helpful and kind. The cafeteria downstairs and the surroundings are a plus. If you can overcome the bathroom issue, I strongly recommend it.

This was my first time at the Jane and I really enjoyed it. It's not for everyone but it you are looking for a very practical yet soulful place to stay in NYC this is it. Also the bar area is a real treat and so is the little breakfast place. These are both good enough to draw crowds from outside the hotel. I will definitely be staying there again.

Next time I would opt for the Captain's room, so that I could have my own bathroom. The shared bathrooms were okay, but I missed having access to my own facilities.

It is unique. Of course you have to accept shared bathroom but is worth at least if you travel alone. The hotel is great, the place is great and staff is very helpful and kind. I have already recommended to friends.

Small rooms and not so clean public areas, but what we're talking about New York after all

Overall a great stay at the Jane. Rooms were as described like ship cabins. The common bathrooms were well-clean. Easy to find and use and each with separate rooms for individual shower stalls and toliets. It can get noisy but used the AC to help cool (as the heating is efficient) and also to cut down on the noise. Subway is not that far away, easy five minute walk if that. Not that far to walk to other areas. For the price and location, not a bad deal at all.

I stayed in a standard room. They are beautiful, but very small. I really enjoyed my stay overall.

Great for single travellers on a tight budget who don't want to compromise on location. The Jane has bags of Greenwich Village shabby chic charm. The rooms, or "cabins" are certainly small, but so well designed that I never felt cramped. Very well appointed with air conditioning, fan, flat screen tv, iPod dock, safe and more than ample storage. The shared bathrooms were always very clean, and I never had to wait to use them. Ample hot water and great, powerful showers. The white waffle robes and slippers are a nice touch. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Even the old-style elevator is charming!

Hotel had everything and was in a great location. room was quite tiny and air ventilation was not so great , rooom only had one small window that would not stay open.
