Location was excellent, very close to subway with good connections. Didn't have a problem with the small rooms but we did find them quite noisy, with a lot of door banging early morning as guests who didn't have rooms with bathrooms used the communal bathrooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The free walking tour was a bonus as was having such a good bar/restaurant next door.

Good hotel and cheap for manhatten but i would stay next time in queens in a much cheaper hotel with breakfearst and bigger rooms where you have also a good connection to a lot of subways. If you stay at pod you should eat breakfearst at "Ess a bagel" around the corner. not in the hotel.

Well situated in Manhattan. Unfortunately prices for breackfast are a little bit expensive (7 usd for a bagel and a fruit juice)

It was my first stay at the hotel and I would suggest everybody to book it, if the most important things for you as a traveller are to be able to walk by foot and just have a clean place to sleep, to take a shower and so on. If you need space while staying in a room, you should search for something else, because all rooms are little. we took a room with two beds above each other, but we also took a look into a single bedroom and a double bedroom, when we left, because those where open for cleaning. You also have not to walk far to reach the subway.

I stayed at the Pod for 2 nights by myself. I had read a lot of mixed reviews so I had doubts going in. After staying there I can understand why some might be disappointed with what you get but I think that is just because they had unrealistic expectations at times. This is a three star hotel called 'the pod'... so don't expect that there is tonnes of room but DO expect a pretty good price. I had my room upgraded for free from a single to a double with a bathroom. everything was clean, tidy and was very comfortable. the air conditioning worked and it was not noisy at all. I ate at the bar downstairs and it had fair prices. I wouldn't use this place if you were expecting to spend a lot of time in your room but it is perfect if you just need somewhere to crash at night. it is conveniently located near some breakfast cafe's, a couple of minutes walk to 5th ave and central park is only a 20 minute walk away. The staff didn't go out of their way to help me but i was only there for a short time and they definitely were NOT rude. for a short stay in NY I would go back to The Pod

The best value in the middle of summer in New York! Single twin bed room was tiny but had everything I needed. If you get a "shared bathroom" like me, don't worry - it's a single toilet and shower, so when you are using it you lock the door and have complete privacy (and shampoo and body wash are provided). There was also a sink, mirror, towels and soap provided in my single room, so I could brush my teeth in my own room. Just bring your own flip-flops for the shower - the hotel does not provide these. The ambiance of the hotel is slick and fun, with New York lounge music streaming in the bathrooms and hall and Eurostyle furnishings. The bed and sheets were what you would expect in a motel, but I slept fine. The window air-conditioning unit worked well. Although I had an interior courtyard room, there were still some noise from sirens and constant noise from the air-handling unit for another building, but again, I still slept well. I will definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend it.

I am a single woman at the upper end of my '70's. I was in a single room, and while a bit nervous about sharing a bathroom down the hall, it worked out very well. The room was quiet and had the necessary ammenities. It was clean, and I felt safe. My only complaint was that there was no PBS available on the television. The concierges and the bellboys were helpful each time I requested advice. I would consider staying there in the future.

some noises from the "midnight activity" right next door reminded me the stay in hostel in other countries....which was not what i expected...aside from this, things are pretty good!

The biggest impression from my stay was how they were able to fit a whole room into a bathroom-size space! But it worked. Everything was clean, new and stylish. Location - a little bit of a walk from Times Square, but I think it's good - provides a little sanity after a day in crowds. The only think I didn't like was that I could hear everything in the hall from the room, so sound isolation could be better.

Good location but the only fault was noisy air-con but air con was essential due to hot weather. Breakfast food was good but staff not particularily friendly behind the breakfast bar. No laundry service was available contrary to web site. This service was offered by local laundry firm 2 blocks away - we had to take our laundry ourselves and their collection service was disorganised. But we would stay at the POD again. Room is definitely too small with no space at all to arrange clothes => luggages remained opened on floor the 5 days long. But most disapointing, it was not clear enough on the website that shower and restroom were shared outside the room..... Location very practical (near Times Square & Central Park). Roof Top is a real plus.

I was in NYC after a business trip as I have never been there before. The rooms and in particular the shared bathrooms are very clean - it almost felt like it was my own bathroom clean. The nearest subway is only 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel entrance with cheap food nearby. I rated the hotel low on spaciousness and price lower as I am more used to bigger and cheaper rooms. But this is NYC so do expect to pay a little more. The only points of improvements would be brighter corridors (some parts were pretty dark) and a proper safe box! The safe provided was so small I would had issue fitting anything more then one book there.

A cute little hotel which can serve one's basic needs over the course of their stay. The single room I booked was functional: bathroom, amenities, wi-fi all sufficient. Honestly quite surprised at how much the designers did with so little space, but I guess its so conveniently located that you really can't complain.

This is my new favorite hotel in NYC. The rooms are tiny (naturally), but brilliantly designed to make use of space and spotless. I had a single with a shared bath. The bathrooms were very clean and the only problem was when fellow guests didn't clean up the water on the floor from their showers. The shower was a treat, with the overhead rain effect and side jets. The location is wonderful, on a (for NYC) quiet street with good restaurants in the immediate neighborhood (BXL was terrific). The highlight of the stay was the roof terrace, with spectacular city views. Overall great value. I will definitely come again!

Perfect location, very functional and cool rooms, if you plan not to spend too much time inside your (very small) room, is a perfect stay for a relatively-budget accomodation just in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Absolutelly to be reccommended.
