Fabulour location! Everything within easy reach! New York is a very expensive city to visit! It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room! (sorry, it's a very Irish thing!)

The hotel location is awesome but I must confess that we were disappointed in the quality of the rooms. Stark and plain, the beds were very uncomfortable and the bathroom was terrible, dirty old, rusting, even chewing gum on the wall. Your hotel is in serious need of a makeover. I have stayed in better Motel Sixes.

Bearing in mind that every hotel in NY is very expensive the quality and price match together. However, in quite a lot other cities you could get much more for this money.

It was a really old hotel and the rooms smelled like paint, so really bad for allergies. Room is big and spacious but one of the beds was broken. About the staff, we only had the experience of the check in and the person in charge of that in our case was very rude and displicent and clearly was more preocupied about gossiping and talking with other lady Instead of paying atención to us. Bad service from Gustavo.

I had booked 2 rooms. One was spaciuos but the other one was less larger. The room where you have to take your breakfast wasn't big enough. The hotel should make that place bigger with more tables and chairs. But the must of the hotel It is his location. Easy to go everywhere and the subway just on the corner.

The location is great but the room I got for the price I paid was horrible. I am a well seasoned traveller and have stayed in everything from trailer parks to high class hotels. I wouldn't have had as much of a problem with my stay if it had of been a $50 a night kind of place. I arrived in what looked like a flash hotel and has problems from there on. They claimed I had only paid a portion of my room rate which I was under the impression I had paid the whole thing. I was too tired however to fight them on this so I just bared the cost (I'm still not sure who was right here I'm just saying be careful and double check what you have paid). I got in the elevator and on the rid up to my room I got a glimpse of the other floors which looked lovely. I got to my floor to find it looking cheap as anything. My door was chipped all over but it did say it was from 1944 so whatever. I got inside and the bed sheets had holes all through them and the bed was made to have a dust ruffle which was not there. There was mould within the walls and across the ceiling. The shower was okay however the floor felt sandy and the drain was clogged with hair. The tv was tiny. The closet was dirty but the drawers were fine. There was no in-room safe and no safety lock on the door. My phone didn't receive messages even thought my mum seemed to be able to leave them and the phone looked as though it was equipped. I could hear everything that happened in the hallway and rooms either side of me. Ultimately it was a room so I survived but I won't be staying there in future.

There was no possiblity of making tea or coffee in the room. The room was a inside room with no view on the street. I choose this hotel as the location is very central and walking distance to all the major attractions. This is not the first time we have stayed at this hotel, but the time before we had a better room.

Dirty and small rooms, big confusion, long queues at check in, no free wi-fi, sad atmosphere and no communication with people of the staff. old and bad conditioned bathrooms, with dirty and spotted doors.

This hotel should be take down, the room walls were mold and the smell of the room were also moldy. There was a rusty air conditioner that smell also moldy when opereting. I have traveled in Europe, Asia, Africa and South-America and this hotel was the worst experience of any hotel and I have traveled also in a very low budjet hotels. Ofcourse in New York you are not supposed to spend your time in hotel room.

I recommend everyone to book rooms at New York's Pennsylvania because the relationship between price and quality is excellent and it's in the center of Manhattan. You can go everywhere on foot or by subway.

Such a price for such a service: there is no word. 1 and a half hour to check in. No assistance. No knowledge of the city. No internet in the rooms and payable internet in the lobby. Noisy. Just clean. Bathroom are a desaster. Never back in this hotel.

The location is very very close to Times Square,Macy´s and right in front of Madison Sq Garden. If you don´t mind being in an unpersonal hotel where you meet the staff only when you make a big line for check in, and it seems you´re constantly in a train station packed of anxious people and when you have to wait ten to fifteen minutes to take an eleveator to come to the lobby in rush hours (between 10 and 12 o´clock in the morning)... well, you may consider it...though it´s not a bargain at all. There´s no breakfast included, the rooms smell, the carpets are not clean, the bathroom was awful, the windows are dirty and make the rooms darker and somehow scary. Yes, it´s an old hotel but it seems that the managers feel satisfied with its full all year around ocupancy and make no efforts to improve anything. For the price I paid, I would have and I will get something much better next time. To this hotel, never ever again.

The service was non-existent. I had to wait in line to check-in, which took 40 minutes. The carpets were dirty. The TV service was good, and the toilet and shower was clean. The bed seemed made up, but the sheets were used. The closet was smelling musty. I would not recommend this hotel to any friends/relatives.

For the bedroom, the level of cleanliness was average. They changed the sheets of the beds every day. The staff was attentive. As weaknesses, I stress the fact that there is no place to put your luggage and be extremely old. It has great moisture in the walls and ceiling. The price / quality is bad, taking into account, which is a 2-star hotel and being too old.

The best was the location of the hotel. Long waiting to check in. Very few and old securitasboxes to such a big hotel! The room we got on the 7th floor needed a real renovation.I guess all the rooms at that floor. No place to put your luggage, just the dirty floor.

We were on a weeks break in NY the hotel was located very centrally we were on the 4th floor and the noise was horrific from traffic and pneumatic drills. Bathroom had a stain behind the door and even though the room was cleaned daily this spot was still there and we leaving also there was paint peelin these are the only 2 things I'd drop points on. I wish we were on a higher floor :-(((

The hotel rooms need refurbishing, as there were many snags, falling fixtures, old paintworks, dirty carpets. The room size is as expected for Manhattan and location is fantastic- lots of cafes near bye, right above the subway and main shopping district, bus station. But make sure you get the rooms with either Empire State building views or on the 7th avenue. Most other rooms face each other or has other blocks right up against it. It is a huge hotel and service standards vary from one day to another.

the position of the Hotel is excellent: just in front of the MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, it was easy to reach & to walk out from.Inside the room looked poor but essential, far from the exibition of our 3star Hotels we can find around in Italy (i.e. in Italian spa-areas), but acceptable, at least to us.

Ideal location if you want to be where it's all going on - incredibily busy outside the main entrance. The comunal areas outside the hotel rooms are tired and run down. The room itself needs a complete refurb. The smell was dreadful, the decor dirty, the bathroom covered with mould. Go elsewhere - there are other and better hotels available for a small increase in price.

The hotel was in a great location to visit large buildings (Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center ...), buses to and from Washington stops practically at the door and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. But we struggled to find a supermarket close economic and breakfasts are not included in the hotel.

The situation of the hotel is really fantastic but it's all. For exemple, Internet is not free; the bed was comfortable and very very large (2 meters) but sheets and blankets were for usual beds! AC very noisy; and so on... The relationship between price and quality is the main problem.

rooms are terribles When you arrive at the Pennsylvania hotel you think is beautiful because the hall is perfect and really big, but, when you reach the rooms you think "is not the same hotel", rooms are really old with terrible furniture. The first room we got was reallu durty, there was an open soap on the bathroom, bad blankest were moved, beds were curved, and we also find some pieces of chicken on the floor. Fortunately the replaced us the room, was old as well but clined. I do not suggest enyone to go at this Hotel.

The hotel is not an hotel: it is a room factory! They only care about money. No one in the desk ever smiled. It took us more time to check-in in the room than the one we spent in the immigration in the airport: there were an incredibly long queue, we needed more than one hour. When we did the check-out we had to fight in order to have the receipt. And the people in the desk were really impolite. I traveled a lot, but I have never been in an hotel where all the people in the desk were so bad-mannered. BTW, when we told our NY friends that we were staying in this hotel, they made fun of us, because they say that this hotel is well known for his bad reputation. Stay away from here. The only good point of this hotel is its location, but if you are willing to stay close to Penn station, go to the New Yorker hotel (or any other hotel!!!)

The Good: Excellent location right across from Penn Station. Nice view of Empire State Building right outside room window. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure in shower. Nice refrigerator in room. The Bad: Check-in/out staff impersonal. Lobby is like a train station. Hallways are dark, seedy, and carpets are frayed. Room doors look like coffins. Room needed a spackle and paint job. Faucet handles on sink turn in the wrong direction.
