Hotel near subway and most important attractions in NYC area. Is very close from Central Park and the subway trains A,E,F, NQR, 1, 2 e 3, thus this makes your visit very simple. By the other hand, there's a very poor breakfast, the room is small and the service isn't so good. It's a cheap hotel so you have to think about, to me it's worth.

We were given a horrible room on the 8th floor that looked as if it was leftovers. There was no heat nor regulation vents in the room so it was cold. We were not able to check into our room until 12:30 a.m. and I think that is why we were given inferior accommodations. Frankly, I would like a refund or a discount for my next visit. I have stayed at the Park Savoy three other times with no problem.

The best location from Manhattan. Access by JFK airport is very easy. But if you stay this hotel, you don't Excessively hope for anything except good sleep.

I thought at first, what a nice closet. After climbing over the bed to get in the room I realized it was the room... It was nice, saved a lot of walking. One step out of bed and BAM, in the bathroom. No walking at all, could almost hit the toilet from the bed.. As a matter of fact I think someone before us tried.. But for the price, not bad at all and the staff was very nice and also helpful when asking about the people sleeping in stair case.... The brick wall outside the window wasn't all that bad to look at, counted 1298 bricks before falling asleep... Elevator was, was... interesting.. Never knew I had a problem with tight places... It should be rated for 1.5 Americans or 6 Ethiopians... In fact, I had a damn good time it was more or less clean, sort of run down, but would be great material for a comedian, and the Health Dept.. And YES we will use the Savoy next time..Sleep tight don't.......

If you constantly remind yourself that you are paying 130 usd a night and you are one block away from central park and the subway, cost/benefit relationship is a 10. Rooms are small but clean. People at the front desk aren't going to be your best friends but are nice and willing to help. This is not the Ritz Carlton... this a budget hotel, and it works really great from that point of view!

I hope the low numbers won't keep you away. The fact is, if you were in the suburbs, you would turn around and drive away, headed for Motel 6. In NYC, however, this hotel is good value. It's right in the middle of everything and the price is great for a room with its own bathroom. Across the street at the Essex, rooms start at $579. The rooms are small, as is usual for NYC, and well-kept, albeit a bit run down. The beds are extra firm which is not a plus but the linens are clean and new. Losing the bedspreads for an easily cleanable duvet would be a bonus but, as said earlier, this is a budget hotel in NYC, rare and nice to find. As to the noise factor, bring ear plugs. This is not the fault of the hotel. There is major construction going on on 57 and 58th.

The short review: Stay here if you are on a budget, used to regular city background noise, accustomed to budget European hotel room sizes and want to stay in Midtown. Do not stay here if you prefer large room size over good location, central air over in-window AC and can't sleep without the quietness of suburban living. Real pros: LOCATION and price. Real cons: only paid wi-fi ($5 for 30 mins!!!), no fridge and really cheap pillows. Note the excessively high taxes on hotels in NYC - a $106 room is actually $125 after all the government tax. The long review: When I contemplated booking at Park Savoy, I looked at the reviews and saw that it ranked fairly high in Cleanliness and Location, but seemed to compensate that with noisy, tiny rooms and jerks working in the lobby. Turns out, it was a good place to stay. The rooms WERE clean and the location was SUPERB!! To address the complaints re noise - we didn't hear anyone else on our floor, so the room wasn't noisy because of our neighbours. The only sources of noise were the window AC and the construction happening next door. But that did not bother either of us - for us, the noise isn't a problem, simply because it's the regular audiotrack of a big city. If you are from a big city, the 'noise' at Park Savoy isn't anything you haven't slept through. But if you live in a quiet suburban cul-de-sac, then you'll probably complain about the "noise". The spaciousness of room - the rooms ARE indeed tiny. If you are used to pampered spaciousness of Best Westerns and Westins, then you'll feel cramped. But if you're ever travelled in Europe and have stayed in budget rooms there, you'll find Park Savoy to be JUST FINE. Just remember how expensive real estate in Manhattan is and how much you're paying per night at Park Savoy. In regards to the staff - everyone we encountered was nice to us. They were brief in their responses and they don't do much smalltalk, but that's the NY way of doing things. The staff downstairs answered all

Staied with my wife 6 nights,Venere ofered great prices, compared to other sites ! The hotel has great location, 1min from Central Park and 10min from Time Square. The room was't very spaci but it was clean and so was the bathroom. The value for $ is great and the only bad thing i can point was the noise ! Windows have no sound isolation, so you can ear EVERY sound on the street ! I definitely recommended earplugs !

Hotel located in an excellent area of NYC. Subway station very close, 10 mins walk from Time Sq. and 30 secs from Central Park. Room noisy due to works starting from 7am and aircon but clean and of acceptable size. No extra beds for kids if needed. Reception staff not helpful and cold but cleaning staff very nice and useful. As always, car parks nearby are extremely expensive (approx. 55$ for 24 hrs.) but plenty of them in that area which is good. Overall a place to recommend given the challenge it is to find a good place to stay at a ''reasonable price" in New York.

I'll repeat what people on for example Tripadvisor has said about this place: the rooms are small, the frills non existent and everything is just at the adequate level - but you can't beat the location (for it's price level anyhow)! If this hotel was able to update it's facilities and tie in better services without raising their prices it would get far better ratings. Still, fine choice for budget travellers who want to stay centrally on Manhattan.

Good price hotel for prime location in the midtown. However, bedsheets made me itch when I slept, and I didn't sleep very well on the bed. A good place to crash when you want to be in the center of NYC but nothing more than that. The room has a lot of bass noise from the club nearby. Unfortunately, I stayed at The Mirage in Vegas prior to my NYC trip, so that didn't help this review. Still, good price for prime location, but don't expect too much other than a decent place to crash.

I was planning about a week-long vacation in New York City, and I wanted to find an inexpensive hotel with a convenient location and no bed bugs. The Park Savoy fit that bill, and overall, I was pretty pleased. There were some quirks with the television, and construction was going on next door, but these were not serious problems. For the money, I got exactly what I wanted, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Horrible customer service!!! Do not stay here if you want customer service. The room was tiny I mean even if your staying with family you feel confined. The room is the size of a large closet. The facility was so ragady that the door to the bathroom got stuck and I was trapped for an hour. When we called maintenance and spoke the front desk they said and I quote "that's not our fault". They also asked if we really needed to use the bathroom at all b/c they were totally booked there only solution was to check out. They finally busted me out of the bathroom and proceeded to close the door and it was locked again. The other option was to use the bathroom w/out closing the door b/c if we were to close the door we would be trapped! Finally they taped the lock so it wouldnt get stuck again. Trying to find the hotel manager is like trying to talk to the president no one knows where he is and how to find him... The only positive thing about this hotel is location and because of that they offer nothing else! Again do not go there if you might think you need to actually use the restroom in the room b/c you may be trapped make sure to bring a nice size book so you have something to do while they break you out.

This is a very reasonably-priced hotel in a great location. We enjoyed our stay and will return. The room is small but comfortably furnished, cute efficient bath. The continental breakfast features good quality pastry from a local bakery. I had a delicious croissant with almond filling one day, and a big blueberry muffin the next. They also had real NYC style bagels. The luggage storage is very secure, in a locked room that the maid has to open.

The location of the Park Savoy suited me quite well. It is within walking distance of the BoltBus stop from DC to NYC (24 blocks, about 30 minutes walk), as well as being within walking distance of Times Square, Broadway, Carnegie Hall, 5th Avenue and Central Park. The accommodations are spartan, but the guest room as well as the bit of public space (postage stamp size lobby, elevator that carries 3 people comfortably, stairwells) were very clean. The guest room (which includes a petite but complete bathroom with toilet, tiny sink, mirrors and shower) reminds me of rooms in the old hotels in Paris - compact but serviceable. A flat screen TV was mounted on the wall with cable access, including HBO. In addition to the double size bed, there was a night stand with a lamp, and a desk with a chair, plus a good size closet. The blinds on the window as well as the furniture were made of wood. The carpet seemed to be new. There was a large framed Monet print on the long wall. Every object was in good condition and clean. My only teensy complaint was that the pillows had a very faint smell of cigarette smoke. I slept soundly and everything worked properly. I plan to make the Park Savoy my home base the next time I return to New York City. Well worth $125 (including tax)!!

This was our first time staying at the Park Savoy and location wise, it was fantastic! However, front desk personnel rarely spoke when going in and out of the hotel, some didn't speak at all, not even good morning, good evening etc. Never knew the name of the front desk personnel. I asked for a hair dryer one day after getting caught in the rain, they wouldn't give it to me until I gave them my drivers license! All of our credit card info is right there in their computer, and they wanted my driver license too.. thought this was ridiculous! They could improve by teaching their staff to be more interactive with guests and having the maids speak english as well.

No at all what I expected....there is no $25 per night parking next door, it appears it has been closed for quite a while. You walk into the hotel via a small corridor to a rickety elevator and noisy ac. quite a let down. BUT Norma's breakfast at the Meridian was wonderful..will stay there next time.

In city to attend daughters college graduation at Radio City Music Hall, so there was 5 of us. Great location. Nice pleasant walk to it. Also nice walk to Central Park, Times Square and great restaurants. Hotel itself was the cheapest I found in that area. We were on 3rd floor and could hear everything outside all night! Elevator is the slowest we every took. Would only hold 4 people at a time so we kept splitting up, when someone would decide to take the stairs. It's the old fashioned one where the door has to be physically opened which is difficult when you have luggage to hold as well. We checked out and they held our luggage all day which was really great. Sheets were super scratchy, but clean. Pillows very small and uncomfortable. Bathroom had no hooks to hold anything and no counter space and bad lighting. Also no electrical outlets in bathroom! Bedroom itself was real large and clean. Hotel is what it is for an old apartment building but could have thought more about the comfort of people. Check in desk is in the tiny hall area and if you have a quick question while another party is checking in, you'll have to wait, because it seems like only one person was ever at the desk at a time. Wasn't told during check in about the "breakfast room". So we did find a restaurant for that. Really wasn't told about much at check in. Expected a better welcome and a few brochures available for area, but you're on your own for that too. In future, I would bring my own pillow, hooks that could over the bathroom door, ear plugs. Not good for elderly, parties of more than 4, or physically challenged people that can't do stairs and can't push the heavy door open, but are tired of the slow, small elevator. No vending machines but a convenient store next door. Total for 2 double rooms for 1 night was $402 with taxes so depending on what you are there for, it would not be a good choice if you were spending any time at all in the hotel. If you need a cheap place to shower and sleep

No views at all. Small rooms. You can hear the TV from other rooms. Uncomfortable place for breakfast, need to take it to your own room. Small bathrooms. Slow and small elevator. We haven’t received breakfast one day. The personnel responds to your simple request but make you feel that you are bothering. For couples or group that only need a place to sleep, the price is reasonable and it is very well located (just one block from Central Park).

This hotel has an excellent location in mid-town Manhattan a stone's throw from Central Park on its southern edge between 6th & 7th Avenues. The rooms are clean with an adjustable air conditioner, tv/remote, closet and desk. The bathroom was on the smaller side but clean and functional. The bed was firm and sheets and towels changed daily. Good value for the money and, again, a fantastic location close to several subway lines (at Columbus Circle) and Central Park. On the downside, there is no lobby area as such. The reception area is narrow so guests entering and leaving with luggage to or from the elevator will find it a challenge. The staff at the reception desk are not particularly energetic but if you are seldom in the hotel, as we were, it hardly matters. Cleaning staff start early and if you're a light sleeper you'll probably be awakened as the hallways are narrow. Ask for a Do Not Disturb sign for your door handle or you can expect entry. Phones are available in the rooms but you'll need to buy a $5 phone card from the reception desk to be able to dial out to access even local numbers. The phone card can only be used in the hotel so you may be better off buying a regular phone card from any convenience store that you would be able to use at phones anywhere in the city. The hotel is nine floors total and there is an elevator but be warned - it is very small (holds a maximum of 4 people)and very, very, very slow. The biggest drawback to the Park Savoy though would have to be the construction site adjacent to the hotel. Hydraulic jackhammers pounding below the surface next door can be felt throughout the hotel from 8ish to 5ish during the weekdays and I imagine rooms overlooking the site will hear and feel the worst of it. If you are staying over the weekend you'll be fine as the site closes down between Friday evening and Monday morning.

The price is quite low if you consider the good location of the hotel. But is important to underline some things: - with taxes the price is 115 USD per night; - in this period the hotel is located next to a huge yard that's extremely noisy expecially during the night: if you're planning to stay there during the week end you will be fine; - our bathroom was very very little.

What struck us about Park Savoy was that they had the courage to give us a 'room' that was so cramped that we couldn't even walk around the bed; but the worst thing was the infernal din starting at 7am. We were close to a construction site! It should be even forbidden to give guests such an awful space!
