The Marrakech is located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side at West 103rd Street and Broadway. The neighborhood is trendy and redefining the Upper West Side as the new hot spot for those seeking a mosaic of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Over 50 fine restaurants are within a five-block radius of the hotel. Columbia University and a large number of specialty bookshops are located a few blocks to the north. Also nearby are Grant's Tomb and the magnificent Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

The prices are ok in the web page, but they should tell about the taxes. If they tell you about order a taxi at the hotel say no because the price is higher and you can find a taxi at the door.

I went to NY for the first time with my 2 best friends to celebrate my B-day. The hotel room was fine, though the bathroom was kind of small. It wasn't a big deal for us, since we were barely in the room anyways. There are no elevators, so excessive packers, watch out!! :) On the plus side, the hotel staff was VERY friendly, and they were there on the spot every time we needed help with our luggage. There is a subway stop right across the street, which was incredibly convenient for us.

Ok room, but with some major faults. - The shower was small and had only fixed showerhead. - The water in the shower was as median warm enought, but it ocillated between hot and cold. - The TV set remote control didn't work. Even after 3 complains to the reception in 3 days, they wasn't able to fix it. The told us that they would send someone to fix it, but that never happend. The probable fix was to replace the batteries. This made the TV-set pretty unuseable, having to change channels on the TV itself, and not being able to use the internet/hotel-TV services.

When we arrived to Marrackech the hotel said that something had happened to our room and sent us to another hotel for the first to 2 nights (of 5). When we returned we found that the reason was oversubription. The staff handled the situation VERY poor and instead of turning our mood from negative to positive by maybe up-grading us, checked us at the other hotel, sent a pick-up we had to start a tiresome discussion. In the end the compensation was probably more costly for the hotel and still with a negative view from our side. That effected our view and despite a quite nice hotel I´ll never recommend them to a friend. Caroline

My only complaint is that they did not have our reservation on record. If I had not brought the printout with me they would have been a lot less accomodating. Also, the woman who checked us in was not very friendly and seemed somewhat preoccupied.

From Grand Central Station take the purple subway line (7) until Times Square then switch to the red line (1-9) and get off on 103rd street. From Pennsylvania Station take the red line (1-9) and follow the indications above.

Another option is to take the Air Train Jfk till the Howard Beach subway stop. The blue line of the underground will take you till 103rd street.

Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel.
