The Gershwin experience begins as soon as you walk into the Pop Art-bedecked lobby, a museum space unto itself that contains an actual Campbell's Soup Can by Andy Warhol, signed by the artist himself. The welcome continues at the front desk, where our guests are greeted by the friendly, multinational staff, who between them boasts a formidable array of languages and smiles.

A veritable arts festival unto itself, the Gershwin also boasts The Living Room, a separate performance space that features regular music, comedy, and theater performances. You can also read your E-mail in one of the two handy Internet kiosks.

The Gershwin experience, however, doesn't stop at the ground floor. Each of the 13 floors has its own installation of original art for you to enjoy. Then there are the guests themselves, who represent a cross-section of New York and all the lively arts. By the time you check out - if you check out - you'll agree that the Gershwin is not just another hotel.

Good location but extremely expensive considering the type of room we got - small bedroom/bathroom, old bed, bathroom not super clean.

We stayed in New York for two nights and were looking for a budget freindly accommodation. Value for money was amazing. The hotel has a funky aesthetic and the staff service was really great. The rooms don't have any frills, but are clean and comfortable (and nicely decorated). Great location and we will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in NYC.
