Nice and friendly hotel. Room was quite clean. Furniture is quite old and sofa needs renovation since it was a bit dirty. Clean bed sheets. Minus: wifi and/or internet is not available for free.

Thanks to Venere (or the hotel) we have got a special price which was quite fair. Otherwise the prices are a bit high (yes, it's New York...) but the EXCELLENT location and the hotel itself worth it. The bathroom could have been a bit more renovated but otherwise everything was o.k. It's absolutely recommended, we also come back if we stay in New York.

Lovely hotel and it was going back in time with all the art deco features but prices inaccurate for cost of WiFi and the taxes from my order confirmation from venere.com. Great to have a kitchen and fridge, cooker etc

Beekman Tower is a short walk (less than a quarter mile, or about 350 metres) from the UN and perhaps half a mile (just under 1 km) from the New York subway system. The area is largely residential without much in the way of tourist attractions, but public transit will take you efficiently to all parts of the city. There are a number of small restaurants and pastry shops (including French and Turkish confectioners) in easy walking distance, and markets not far away. We were received promptly by a very helpful front desk staff, who were cordial and responsive to our request for special assistance. Similarly, the waiter in the top-floor bar and restaurant, with striking views of the city, was friendly and courteous, especially to our much younger guests who were first-time visitors to New York. Physically, the hotel lobby is tiny and can easily become overcrowded. At busy times, there can be a tiresome wait for the lift. Many of the smaller rooms (the studios) are quite small. In our experience, however, the accommodations are comfortable and the staff are helpful. Venere.com offers a good value for a hotel of this quality in this location.

Room was a bit shabby - clearly not renovated in the past 20 years, but otherwise fine. Very convenient that kitchen corner was part of the room. Proximity to subway is poor - 20min walk to nearest, this is relevant information and should be provided to potential customers.

My husband and I had a wonderful four days in New York. Our stay in the Beekman Hotel was comfortable. The rooms were large, especially by New York standards, but they are in need of updating. The sofa in our room was old and dirty. The bed was comfortable and the bath was roomy and very clean. we did have problems with the heater in our room, but it was still comfortable.

Definately the WORST experience of our NY / New England fall vacation. I have been in NY several times and from the web it looked like Beekman being an alternative to other highly rated hotels such as RogerW or Hudson, less trendy but same class. Definitely wrong, it was cheaper by a few bucks but the stay was horrible. - incompetent staff, absolutely no suggestions for dinner etc. - offered us a room which was absolutely inacceptable (2nd floor with scaffold in front of the windows) and when we asked we got another room on 6th floor... nice try - very dated interior - mildew in the bathroom Wonder how they managed to get such a good rating, value for money isn't good at all. If not pre-booked, I would have walked out and went to afore mentioned hotels at whatever cost...

The Beekman Tower is a GREAT value!!!! The rooms are not the nicest you will ever find... but absolutely FINE for the price. The location is great!!! A short walk to 5th avenue. Hotel is in a great neighborhood-like community. People out jogging and walking their dogs early morning and late night! Felt totally safe and comfortable. Lots of great small restaurants and cafes nearby. Loved the buttercup bakery, the morning star cafe and dos cominos, all nearby. Service and friendliness of staff was great! We are from the south and used to friendliness day to day, did not really expect it in Manhattan but recieved it anytime we spoke to any of the hotel staff. Had dinner at the Top of the Tower- beautiful view and great food. Lots of young, business people having drinks. Highly recommend the Beekman. EXCELLENT value for midtown Manhattan.

The experience was positive, but there were some issues. The main problems were the fact that the hotel is far from any subway station, and the faint smell of cigars in the non-smoking room. The room was spacious and quiet, though. The hotel is relatively close to some points of interest, such as the Rockefeller Center, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, etc. Since it was very hot in NY, we had to use taxis most of the time because of the long distance to the metro stations.

We reserved the room because we were sharing it with another family member, so we needed 2 beds, but when we got there (very late due to a late train) we got a bed and fold out couch/bed. Otherwise, the room was much better than we expected and we loved the Beekman Tower and their staff! We have already recommended the hotel and Veneer to others traveling to NYC.

We stayed 9 nights in this lovely location. After asking for a room with view we were upgraded to a suite in the 18th floor with just a wonderful skyline in front of the windows! The living room was really huge with nice furniture. The kitchen was very basic with just a few items - but ok. Staff was exceptional friendly and helpful. The restaurant on top of the tower offers delicious breakfast again with excellent view, but the steak for dinner wasn't worth the money. The bus station is across the street and a lot of restaurants are near the hotel. I can't imagine getting anything else in NYC for that price and hope I'll return one day.

I was shocked at the size of the unit. We had been upgraded to a suite that was the size of my home, well furnished, impeccably clean, and with amazing views of the East River and midtown.
