1. The rooms are kept very clean. But We (2 rooms) never had our pajamas thrown on the bedside table or the bed, as it were trash. 2. The arrival was efficient, but very poor and not welcoming. Just one more, impersonal. 3. Why don't you not say on your homepage that it is a non smoking hotel? or is it not? 4. Poor attention to the guests: no drinking water or coffee at the reception? Afraid to lose your money?

The hotel is in a great location, but the staff is not the friendliest and the continental breakfast is very minimal. The rooms are not spacious, but when you come to NYC you don't stay in your room that much. There are LOTS of places to eat around the hotel and there is a whole foods just around the corner. The subway is steps away and on the # 1 Red Broadway Line at 23rd street station.

Hallways are dumpy and dull-in need of renovation, unventilated and not air conditioned. Lobby area felt like you were entering an old Motel 6. Desk staff was neat and clean. On at least one night, the security guard looked like he was somebody's mafia grandfather, not someone who could effectively provide any security. The place felt "seedy" like it should located under an overhead subway ell in the Bronx, not a hotel in Manhattan. But the location could not be better suited for my needs.

The hotel is in a great location for those comfortable navigating NYC. Especially good if you are equally comfortable navigating the subway, because there is a station right outside the hotel and another main line a block away. It is not the most modern hotel, but it was clean and quiet. WiFi wasn't included, which was disappointing. Even more disappointing that after paying for the service, it was terribly slow (read: useless).

Nice hotel in a strategic New York midtown location close to the Empire State, Macy's, Penn station. A red line subway station is next door. The hotel room was quiet and in good shape. Complimentary breakfast had minimal menu choices but was on an all you can eat basis. The only negative remark is the expensive extra I had to pay for internet connection.

Good location on the subway line to Penn Station which was the main reason we picked this hotel. Hotel staff appeared to be European and not very friendly on arrival. They did hold our bags when we couldn't check in. Largest hotel room we've seen in Manhattan with lots of space in the entry/bathroom area. No power available next to the bad so phones were charged on the dresser. The clock radio did not work. We had an early train out and time was springing forward that weekend so we were concerned about getting up in time. We set our phone alarms and also called the hotel operator for a wake-up call at 7, reminding them that time was springing forward. We got up with our phone alarms without any problem. The wake-up call from the hotel came at 7:55 as we were leaving our room. The front desk did provide a band aid to my teen daughter as we were leaving. I'd probably stay here again just for the location and convenience, but I wouldn't expect mush in the way of service.

"This hotel is a very nice place to visit Manhattan (central park, times square, MOMA, empire state building, Flatiron,...) - 23 Street station (metro) is next to the hotel...and if you prefer, you can take buses ! it's very easy to move where you want ! The hotel is really comfortable with large bedrooms ; it's very clean and quiet. But... the breakfast would be perfect with a few extra fruits ...for example. Then, a marvellous market called "Garden of eden" is also next to the Hotel, a good idea for dinner... very nice !"

Hotel was well positioned for all the things we wanted to do in New York. Our room was comfortable after a long day's sightseeing. The room was on the top floor and faced up 7th avenue and down 23rd street, providing us with great views. Tea making facilities in the room would have been good although coffee was available downstairs.

Great location, but subway and traffic was noisy (ask for inside room). Room just big enough. Room not really well prepared when we arrived - should change their sheets and laundry (but staff helpful). Breakfast is bagels and pastries (latter often run out) and coffee in basic ex-bar area (there is no restaurant or bar). WiFi costs - use Macdonalds for $1 coffee. East of Eight bistro (100m) excellent. High Line walk recommended.

We were three girls in NY. This hotel turned out to be great and really nice for our tour of the city! The hotel location on the 23rd Street is perfect: Subway line 1 is on the corner and other lines are to be found on the same street nearby. On foot one can reach easily Chelsea, Flatiron Building, Madison Square Park and Union Square. Price is convenient; hotel provides you with breakfast (some muffins, some other pastries, coffee, tea and milk). Not very big, but enough for the whole day around Manhattan. Rooms are spacious, clean and have a big TV screen, a clean bathroom and air conditioning.

The hotel is quite good and very near to undergrounds, the breakfast instead was very awful. We ate there the first morning and the rest of the week we went out (there is a very pretty place near the underground).

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Savoy Chelsea. Our room was always clean with new towels ready every day. We had a comfortable queen bed as requesetd during the booking. The room featured an inevitably noisy street view (you simply can't escape the noise when you stay in Manhattan), beautiful flat screet TV and a nice wooden furniture. There were newspapers lying at the door every morning. The reception staff was super friendly and helped us with any inquiries we had. On our check out day, they even allowed us to stay until about 2pm despite the official check-out time of 11am. We also got a more then comfortable car service to take us to the airport for a fixed rate. The surroundings were excellent given the hotel's central location. Plenty of restaurants, convenience stores and various other attractions were usually within a short-walk reach. Metro line 1 is not even one-minute walk from hotel's main entrance. Other lines are accesible via 8th, 6th and 5th avenue stations. The only drawback is poor breakfast which included merely a coffee, tea and not-so-fresh pastry such as muffins or cinnamon rolls. However, all in all, we enjoyed the stay tremendously and would definitely recommend to all those seeking comfortable and clean accomodation for affordable prices and great location!
