My stay at the Vincci Avalon was inconsistent in nature - both highs and lows. On the plus side, the room was very large and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was good. Location is excellent. On the downside, it appeared there was both a lot of deferred maintenance in my room (lamp broken, tv didn't work, lighting generally poor and slow Internet access) and, due to very limited hours for the engineering department, not great response in addressing the issues. I DID find a very responsive Bellman who took a risk and made another room available to watch a playoff game I was anxious to see. But, the price was excellent.... Oh, they were VERY sticky about the check-out time and tried to charge me a half day's room rate just to stay an extra 90 minutes, even after my extreme patience with the maintenance issues...

The location is great. The room was big and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was not so cheap, but it is New York, and everithing is expensive!!!

We arrived late morning expecting not to find a room ready; not only was one ready but we were upgraded to a junior suite. We had mentioned that we had stayed at the Vincci La Rabida in Seville and like it very much; apparently they appreciated the compliment and gave us a larger room!

We arrived at the hotel at 9 in the morning. Had to wait at the reception for about 30 minutes because only one employee spoke english (hardly) spanish owned hotel chain, all or almost all employees are spanish, being in the USA you woulg think that english would be primary language... We specified that we had requested upon reservation a non smoking room because my daughter has asthma, the room reverved for us was probably not so they upgraded us which was great. We left our luggage at the reception and when we came back at night they could not find it, they were arguying that we had already picked it up... They finally found it after 20 minutes and almost giving us a heart attack .How could our luggage been given to somebody else when we had handed the bellboy our coupons with our names on it... And it was the same employee both times in the morning and at night that handled our luggage. The hide-a-bed in the room had no sheets in it ( we were 3 in the room), we had to call room service at 11 at night when we opened it.Th bed (in the sofa)for an executive suite was more than terrible, you could feel all the metal bars from the structure through the 2 inches... mattress) There was a cupboard beside the fridge that had old opened carton of juice and yogurt in it( not refrigerated), we asked twice for them to unlock the fridge which they did not do and also ask 3 times for an extra bathrobe until we had it, and I had to run after the maid to get it...

For a room in New York City, this place was very clean and spacious at a price you couldn't beat! We were in a Junior Suite so I couldn't tell you about the other rooms. The bed could've been a little more comfortable, but other than that I would recommend it. The service was very friendly as well.

Very good lacation. Some problems with our reservation the first night so they booked us into another hotel. As compensation we got a suite for the rest of our stay.

Mgmt was advised from the first day that the TV was not functioning. After the seventh day, it was still not repaired. The A/C was EXTREMELY noisy and not adjustable. The mgmt was also notified that the floo in the dining room was EXTREMELY slippery. In fact, a few older ladies actually slipped the following day! There were NO spaces in the public areas of the Hotel...

Only issue was I thought you booked us with a breakfast and the hotel said breakfast was not included in the price. This caused confusion the first two days. We finally got the manager to ok the breakfast. Your profile of the hotel said breakfast was included but the manager said the reservations did not specifically say that breakfast was included. This confusion should be cleared up between your company and the hotel.

The hotel is very clean and quiet with competent staff. The continental breakfast is adequate, but could be better. The rooms are nice size, but the room shown on the website, is not the room that we received. The bathrooms are on the small size, but very luxurious with marble floors and sinks. My two major complaints are that you cannot adjust the temperature from your room. The air-conditioning is either on or off and you have to call the front desk and ask them to turn the air conditioning on and off. Basically, your room is either very cold or very warm. It's tough to get it at a comfortable temperature and keep it there. Also, the view out of our room was less than desirable. Another drawback...NO INTERNET CAPABILITIES IN THE ROOM. However, for $175.00 a night in NYC, I thought that the room was fairly priced. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were great!
