It is a really nice hotel in the quiet end of the French Quarter, but close to the Frenchmen Street with good music, especialy "Snugs Harbor" is a good place. The hotel room was rather small considering the price and the heating device was very noisy. A very friendly staff, esp. in the reception. We stayed 4 nights and will deliberately return hoping to get a slightly better room.

What a great place! It is close enough to the French market, Bourbon St. and the highway, but there are no noise or safety issues. The breakfast was great, and its a locals favorite b/c it is quality for a great price. The staff are very knowledgeble and so pleasant. We have stayed there twice already, and have sent our friends there. Of all the places we had stayed in New Orleans, this is the best one!

My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Le Richelieu several times. We have always had excellent service. The location in the French Quarter is perfect, close to everything, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful at night. There is our favorite place to stay when we are in New Orleans.

Perfect situation in center of New Orleans (French Quarter). Very good service from staff of hotel. Parking included in price, which has been fantastic considering the lack of parking in this location. The only think was that the central air conditioned was a little bit high (like in most places in USA...). The decoration of the entire hotel (and rooms) is according to New Orleans style. We will definitively come back again.

The staff at the hotel was superb! They were friendly, very helpful and really took an interest in making your stay very pleasant. The property, for its age, was very, very nice. We could not have been more pleased.

Our stay at LE Richelieu was fantastic--Having been to New Orleans several times over the past few years, we wanted to stay only in the quarter this time-and the free parking is indispensible--We were there for our son's Tulane graduation weekend- It is the most quaint, classy hotel situated in a very quiet area--within steps form my favorite street (Royal) While the decor may be old, we have never experienced a cleaner, more sanitized room--and we've traveled extensively--Considering all rooms are both non-and smoking--we were amazed-- We highly recommend this hotel

We had a balcony room looking over the parking lot. It was very quiet. The unlimited in-and-out free parking is convenient and one of the best bargains in the "Quarter". The staff was very accomodating. This section of the French Quarter is perfectly placed for access to the French Market, the Faubourg Marigny Section (Frenchmen St.) and fine restaurants without having to run the gauntlet of "nut cases" on Bourbon Street. This hotel provides some of the "old" NOLA charm, however it does need some serious upgrades...internet service, paint, carpet, bathrooms all need some attention.

Terrific location in the French Quarter - quiet as far as street noise goes, but could hear the guy in the next room coughing quite clearly. Still, for the price and location, we will definitely stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was our first time visiting Le Richelieu and we will return. The rooms were spacious and clean. We checked in at 9pm and the front desk man was very kind and knowledgable. He promptly called a cab for us to make our 9:30 reservations. Hotel Le Richelieu was well worth the money spent. The only complaint was the older caucasian man who waited on us at breakfast. He seemed a bit smug and non engaging. Other than that it was a fabulous stay. Quiet but still close to all the fun stuff. We loved having our own balcony and fridge.

We would highly recommend Le Richelieu to anyone considering visiting New Orleans. The location can't be beat - we walked everywhere we went, yet we were in the quieter part of the French Quarter which was perfect. The hotel staff are very courteous and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. We feel that the hotel was well represented on the web with pictures and descriptions. Great little bar off the lobby to hang out in at the end of the day.

The Hotel was an older style hotel-still use a door key vs. key card for room entry-which you leave at the front desk when you leave the hotel. The room was adequate, nicely decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was larger than expected, highlighted by blue tile and a blue toilet-seemed like from the 70's. However, everything was in perfect working order, clean, and well-maintained. We had a balcony that provided a nice view up and down Barracks Street. The neighborhood was more residential than commercial and quiet, except for the occiasional train whistle. Expect a three to four block walk to the French Quarter and/or Frenchman Street for the jazz clubs. Nice small bar with great atmosphere and friendly bartender. Some locals were gathered there for a post-Mardi Gras Parade drink. I felt that the room was a great bargain for the price we paid, and would recommend it to others.

We were very impressed with Le Richelieu, the staff were amazingly helpful and bent over backwards to help us with every aspect of our stay. Everybody was so friendly and recommeded some great places nearby. We ate at a little bar called Coops place that served great local food as well as pasta dishes and burgers, massive portions and great prices. The French quarter is small enough to walk everywhere so it's best to just explore at your own pace but the hotel staff are always willing to recommend places to suit your taste. I would definitely stay there again if I was to return to New Orleans.
