My stay at this hotel was a little touch of luxury at the end of my trip. The staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. As I commented in their guest book upon departure I was treated like a princess during my visit. I would also recommend the massage and cooking class offered at the hotel. The food at the charming rooftop restaurant was excellent. Should I be back in Delhi I would definitely look no further than the Shanti Home. The location whilst a bit difficult to find for some provided more of an intimate experience than the larger chain hotels in the same price range and after all, locating a place in India is sometimes part of the fun and people are always ready to help. Close proximity to the metro was also an asset.

The location of this hotel made it one of the most disappointing experience I had with booking through this site. It took me 1,5 hours to get there from the center of Delhi. The surroundings are the worst someone can imagine in India: local bus station nearby, poorest Indian suburbs.. Total waste of money! The staff is friendly, but it does not help that much.

I really liked the hotel and the staff. Especially, I liked the festive offer the hotel provided - the massage was heaven! The only disappointment was the way to the metro - it is only 5 minutes walk - it is true, but these 5 minutes are very hard to survive because of the signts and the scents.

The only thing I regretted is the location. Walking around closeby does not bring you anywhere. Only the distance to the metro is good, although crossing the highways to reach it is difficult if you are not used to indian traffic.

A very pleasant hotel with an individual rather than corporate feel, however our room was on the small side and the price is very high for a hotel which is located on the edge of the central area, with a long Metro ride to tourist attractions.

This was our first time at Shanti Home. It's a beatiful oasis of calm in a crazy but fascinating city. The staff are excellent and nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend a stay here. Sadly we only had one night before flying home.

This hotel is well named as Shanti Home. I was made to feel at home and more like one of the family than a paying guest. The hotel is clean, quiet and very comfortable whilst retaining its Indian character. The staff are to an individual friendly, welcoming and eager to help. Nothing is too much trouble. If you like the Holiday Inn offering, with TV in the room and piped music in the elevator, it's not for you. If you prefer a well run boutique establishment, eager to establish and maintain its own unique identity, you just found one.

We stayed at the Shanti Home Hotel on 3 separate occasions and for a total of 5 nights due to hubbing in and out of Delhi and we found it to be an absolutely excellent hotel in many different ways. It is furnished beautifully in a much more traditional Indian way than you would get expect of a standard ‘chain’ hotel and the staff give a very personal service. There is a delightful rooftop restaurant with a varied and reasonably priced menu and the breakfasts are also of a good quality. All staff went out of their way to accommodate our every need, including all transport to and from the airport and sightseeing trips both in Delhi and beyond. The hotel is situated in Janakpuri, which is about 12 miles from central Delhi and app. 10 miles from the airport. It is a five-minute walk from the metro (skyrail) station and the trip into the centre takes approxixately 35 – 40 minutes. The Shanti House staff were extremely helpful in taking us to the station and showing us the ropes on our first trip into the city. Delhi can be quite an intimidating city on a first time visit to India – even for more experienced travellers, but the Shanti Home Hotel made our stay as comfortable and convenient as we could possibly have hoped for.

Shanti Home is the best ! Only thing is that it's a bit far from center but subway is close by. It's clean, quiet and the personnel is really nice. They even made a special cake for my son's birthday and everyone sang Happy Birthday. Very nice touch :)

Beautifully decorated hotel, very pleasant staff, and a good restaurant. Only complaint was that the room was a bit cold even with the heater on, but I did have a terrible cold.

Our room was very nice and the beds were very comfortable. The service was outstanding! The food was delicious, we ate every breakfast and dinner at the rooftop restaurant. Any request we made was handled promptly. Our driver Bobby was the best too! My sister and I had a wonderful time. A fabulous hotel!

Shanti Home exceeded my standards & expectations. We had two visits, each excellent. Our welcome each time was wonderful, flower leis, chilled juice, and friendly people. Our room was immaculately clean & bathroom was modern. We ate at the rooftop restaurant where the service was 5-star and the food delicious. I have told many of my American friends who travel to Delhi often to stay at Shanti Home. Thank you for an exceptional experience.

Shanti Home was a wonderful place to spend my first few days in India recovering from jet lag. I really had no complaints. The staff was extremely helpful. I almost felt like I would offend them if I weren't excessively demanding! The hotel was very beautiful on the inside. I didn't venture out much due to prolonged difficulties with jet lag, but it seemed convenient to shopping when I hired a driver to take me for some necessities. The bathroom had a ceiling and exhaust fan which really helped tod ry it out after showing and to dry wet clothing overnight. The rooftop restaurant served delicious food at reasonable prices. The availability of wine by the glass was particularly appreciated. I remember thinking that if every hotel I stay in during my trip is even half as nice as Shanti Home then I will be most comfortable! And, again, you could not hope for a nicer, more professional staff. I look forward to staying there in the future even if only to spend more time with such kind people.

Hotels in Delhi tend to be pricey, considering the service/value you receive in return. That being said, my husband and I had a lovely stay at Shanti Home last week. The hotel staff is professional and helpful and go out of their way to solve any problems. The room was comfortable (and nice and cold!), and roof-top dining has nice ambience (and the food is quite good; we had breakfast there every morning, and did dinner one night). The only negative is the location. It will take at least one hour by subway to get anywhere; by taxi, in rush hour, 1-2 hours.

The hotel itself was great. Best for those who want to be away from the noise and craziness of central Delhi, but only be 30 minutes away by subway. The main drawback is you are in a far away suburb of Delhi and most taxi drivers will take forever to find it.

Hotel Shanti Home is an oasis amidst the chaos of Delhi. It is convenient to the historical sites of Delhi by metro. It appears that most staying at Shanti Home have found it through Trip Advisor. The hotel caters to those who want good value for the money, excellent service, an in-hotel restaurarnt and proximity to the airport. I highly recommend it.

Outstanding staff, very helpful, friendly and competent. Helpful management. Convenient to the Metro. Quiet road but surrounding area not particularly pleasant. Fabulous breakfasts included. Good food at the restaurant though expensive. No good restaurants nearby. Tasteful, themed rooms. Wifi is a little unreliable. Will stay next time, for sure.

This was a great place to stay, with a wonderful staff, which was very gracious even though we arrived at 2:00 a.m. (3 hrs late). Single women travelers would feel safe and well cared-for here. Rooftop restaurant has excellent food; just turn your palate over to the chef! Our lobby level room was a little noisy, but this should be solved by now, as the reception area is being moved to the lower level. Hotel will arrange for airport pickup and include it in your bill (don't pay the driver, except for a tip.) Location was out of the city center, but since you have to cab most places anyway, it wasn't a problem. If you have special requests, the staff will try to meet them, and in the event of e-mailing a request, you'll get an immediate response. I would go back again any time.

Location is the only conceivable drawback to this wonderful Delhi small hotel. Plan to take the Metro into town -- 25 minutes, where driving can take well over an hour. But free pick-up and delivery from the airport mean you can do this luggage-free, and you will treasure the warmth of attention you get and the comfort of the rooms.

Our room was absolutely gorgeous! The whole hotel paid attention to every detail. The staff was incredible! We felt like royalty during our stay. The hotel was spotless! We ate at the rooftop restaurant for breakfast and dinner everyday because the quality was so excellent that there was no need to go anywhere else. This hotel was our haven in Delhi. We will recommend it to anyone we know who visits Delhi.

This hotel is a wonderful respite from the chaos that is Delhi. Even though the hotel is pretty far from the heart of the city, Connaught Place, it is very close to a metro stop and therefore easily accessible to the main areas of the city via the metro. The restaurant serves up good food in a very nice environment and the owner, who stopped by my table to chat, is kind and interested in her guests.

I stayed there 5 nights on a business trip. Close to the subway station (be carefull when walking there). Very warm welcome and lots of attention. Far better than most 5* hotels I stayed in Delhi (Maurya, Hyatt, Crowne Plaza). The only problem for a business trip is its location. However, the Uttam Nagar East station is just 35 mn away from Rajiv Chowk station. So I still think it is a good deal and will return there without any problem.

NO TV in Room; One of the rooms we stayed felt more like a confinement than a Hotel room. The Shower was painfully slow (no pressure) and cold water. Bathroom gets wet all over. Needs a shower tub or area from which water does not flow into the rest of the rooms. Shower fitting and bath room fitting may be nice looking but water pressure in shower is very low and water just trickles out very slowly. The reception is understaffed. The person is nice but appears intent on following the instructions he has been given. we said we wanted the room when we arrived after 10pm but we we offered a 'home made' soft drink and a garland - both of which in our opinion improve the arrival experience when all we were looking for was to get into our room and then have some dinner. Owners seems to be nice people and trying hard. But need to advertise more about the place so that Taxi drivers know its location. May be it would happen over time. The cupboards/wardrobe in the Room appear dusty and for one of the rooms as in the bath room instead of the bedroom which was not at all convenient. Also, in terms of reservations, it is difficult to know what room you have reserved and what room you are getting when you arrive. Some rooms are big but others are not as big. If every room has a name, why it is not possible to reserve a Room by name in stead of Premier/Standard etc designations? Staff are very polite and helpful. This is a great plus. But overall experience seemed for us to be less positive because of the Room interior and amenities, bath/shower disappointments and reception experience. The Shanti Home has attempted to do a good job but is far from perfect as many have tried to portray in many trip adviser column. Our experience unfortunately was not a positive one. The hotel is 3-Start hotel and should rate between # 10 o 15 in trip-adviser and surely does not deserve #1 rating. We are sorry that our experience was not more positive. Rooftop Restaurant food is ok and servic

The Hotel staff wasn't very helpful during our stay. We pretty much had to arrange for most of the things ourselves. During our initial correspondences, hotel had indicated that we can arrange for sightseeing when we get there, but when we enquired the next day after we arrived, they said to take the Metro. Also, they were not co-operative in accomodating an extra guest. They made us get an extra room. The Hotel is also very far from the city. Takes 40 minutes to get to teh city without traffic.

We used this hotel to stay one night between two flights. The hotel has a fine shuttle service to the international airport i Delhi, although it takes between half an hour and one hour to get there. The hotel is excellent, but the surroundings seemed to be a bit gloomy. It is much cheaper than more western like hotels i Delhi, but the service couldn't be better.

A Fantastic start to our honeymoon - and a haven as described in other online reviews... Loved the rooftop restaurant/ chilled beer glasses/ free internet on the roof terrace, professional setup/separate TV room and general friendly personal service. The best massage service we had out of all the places we stayed. Tandoori food in the evening was an added bonus. A breakfast buffet would have been a welcome addition
