Hotel Castelbourg - Neive

This is a lovely small hotel in a beautiful old Italian hill town. We were welcomed warmly, and the accommodations exceeded my expectations. On our arrival, our hostess treated us to a glass of regional wine, and was very helpful arranging a wine and cheese tasting in nearby Barberesco. They have a lovely breakfast buffet in the morning, as well as a wine tasting bar with delicious snacks in the evening, and a small restaurant with well prepared regional foods for dinner. I wish we had planned to stay longer than 2 nights. The only reason I gave a 7 to room quietness was for the contented talk from the restaurant below at night.

We had booked two nights but the weather changed over the night before we arrived (cold & wet) plus we needed to get home so cancelled the second night the owner did not charge for this. We had suite on top floor, beautifully done, lovely breakfast. Restaurant La Contea (not related to the Hotel- but just 100 metres away)was superb although we only just got a table. Lovely village, great views from bedroom.We will recommend and go back to both!
