Quality of breakfast poor for a 4 star hotel. In a 3 star, the De Petris in Rome, it was much better!

This is a great hotel to stay at if you are traveling by train. It is about a block away from the terminal. The rooms are good sized and my wife really like the roominess of the bathroom. The traffic outside was mostly muffled and the breakfast was great! Very Close to Pompeii. We would stay here again if ever in Naples!

I stayed two nights at the hotel and I really enjoyed it, excellent service, helpful in every way. The clientele at the hotel looked nice to me. I was sightseing alone a whole day in Naples and met only smiling and helpful people.

This Hotel is in an excellent location for travelling right next to the train station. The room was well equiped but very small. If you are booking make sure you get a quiet room as the one I had was on the exterior and the noise was extreme. The breakfast was very nice. One of the reception staff and the porter I encountered could do with a few lessons in customer service and learn how to smile. The location outside the Hotel is a bit dodgy but for an overnight stay it is very convenient

A nice hotel in a very convenient spot for access to and from Airport - take the 3S busline from the Airport and it virtually drops you at the door. Also metro takes you direct to Pompei and Herculaeneum. The R2 bus can be caught down to the port where you can catch the ferry to Capri or Sorrento, again from right outside the hotel. The only complaint I have about our stay is that the roof terrace was not open, probably due to the time of year, it was however quite warm. Breakfast was more than adequate and served in very pleasant surroundings which is more than can be said for the area outside the hotel. Don't let the area put you off, it is scruffy, but we did not encounter any problems and as stated before the hotel could not be in a more convenient position. Would stay again.

THIS IS A GREAT HOTEL IF YOU WANT TO USE NAPLES AS A BASE TO VISIT POMPEII ETC. AS IT'S RIGHT BY THE STATION. VERY PROFESSIONAL STAFF AND THE BREAKFAST IS GOOD (HOT AND COLD FOOD). GOOD REASONABLY PRICED RESTAURANTS DOWN THE STREET, AND ALOT OF SHOPPING IS FUTHER DOWN THE SAME STREET. ROOM IS QUIET. OVERALL A VERY PLEASANT STAY. NOT THE PRETTIEST AREA OF NAPLES BUT IF YOU'RE USING THE TRAINS OR IF YOU JUST WANT A SAMPLE OF NAPLES WITHOUT TOTALLY COMMITING YOURSELF TO THE CROWDS AND TRAFFIC IT'S A GOOD CHOICE! I WILL STAY AGAIN

Room was a bit noisy as it was overlooking the station and smelt of smog. I have stayed here before and some rooms are a lot better than this one. Very handy for the station. Great pizzerias 10 min walk - Da Michele or Trianon.

The first room I not was not very good. Bad shower and a above the railwayline. I complained and changed to a recently renovated room on the sixth floor, and this was very good and quiet. I can recommend this hotel if you want to stay close to i.e. the trains, but ask for a quiet and renovated room! The breakfast was plenty. Good restaurants close by.

Nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. Good Staff. Nice overall stay. The surrounding neighborhood wasn't all that great. Lots of construction and garbage in the streets. But after the construction is done, the square and train station may be very nice. Lots of traffic, butthe noise didn't come in the room. For a great meal, walk around the corner and eat at "Franco Ristorante". Ask for Pepe!

Nicely decorated rooms - could have been a bit cleaner. Reception area and hotel lobby elegant and nice. Breakfast quite ok - nice restaurant. Big place in front of the hotel very noisy and under reconstruction. How will it look afterwards??? The rooms however very good isolated and quiet. Alll in all good location for sightseeing! The hotel was an overnight stop en route to the Amalfi coast. Convenient location for the train station but we wouldn't go outside of the hotel as it looked very dirty outside and didn't feel very safe. The hotel was nice enough and the room adequate but breakfast service was terrible. We were sat at an empty table and no one came to serve us - we had to take our own cutlery from a sideboard even though staff were around clearing other tables. The head waiter was more concerned with chatting to a guest and I had to go and ask if we could have coffee. We had barely started to eat our breakfast when we were asked if we wanted anything else from the buffet and five minutes later were told breakfast service was finished and would we please leave! The previous night when we arrived late we were just in time for a drink from the bar and ordered 2 martinis (to celebrate the start of a well-earned holiday), which arrived in wine glasses with no lemon or olives - barman was miserable and anxious to close up the tiny bar and go home. All in all an adequate hotel if you are stopping en route to somewhere else but wouldn't recommend staying there more than one night. Someone definitely needs to have a sharp word in the ear of the restaurant staff - particularly the one who is supposed to be in charge.

Wonderful Hotel. Quality vs. price fantastic. Coming from noisy station and entering the elegant, spacious lobby, we felt like beeing on a lovely island. Staff was extremly helpful and friendly and our very luxury furnished big room on the 6th floor had a balkony from where we could see the castle as well as the sea. We can highly recommend Starhotel Terminus and stay there again when we come back to Naples.

There was supposed to be a complimentary shuttle to the airport--no shuttle. Shower had no door, but a curtain than ran to about 2 inches off the floor. No ledge on the floor, so shower water floods the bathroom with each use. Very unsafe area. Spend as little time there as necessary.

Very happy with the service we got here. There was a strike on with the ferries to Capri, we had our hotel booked there, but where unable to get there. If not for the a very pleasent staff member who took the time to ring our hotel on Capri and explain the strike. We would have lost around 300 euro.

The standard of the hotel is excellent - but the area in which it is situated is awful! However, it is extremely convenient for the railway and bus services and bus link to airport - which is what mattered to me. If it were in a more pleasant area it would be twice the price!!!!

Despite most of the stuff written about this location of Naples it was great for our short stay. Walking out of the station and straight into the hotel to drop our bags off and get out exploring was brilliant. The area is a bit grubby, but nowhere near as bad as everyone makes out. The hotel itself was nice and typical of a large European hotel in this price range. The service was efficient and friendly.

The hotel was great. Service, clean, and just across the street from the train station, about 5 minutes walking distance. Only reason to stay in Naples however is to visit Pompeii for the day. Other than that, Naples is not a safe place to visit. The city is unkept, the people are scary, be sure to not wear any jewelry or anything of value while you are there. We cut our stay short because of this and took a 30 minute boat ride to stay in the island of Capri, which was paradise.

The hotel was easily located right next to the train station in Naples so very handy for transport. The hotel was lovely and the rooms very comfortable which was good as Naples itself did not look very welcoming! The city was dirty and you certainly didn't see many tourists out after dark. We stuck to the main roads and were fine but glad we were only there for the one night.

This hotel couldn't be more convenient to Stazione Centrale, which was perfect for us -- easy to come and go. But that means it's in a very busy, congested, loud area, on a noisy, traffic-clogged street. Sleeping with the balcony doors open was out of the question, and the room was hot with them closed. All carpets in the hallways and the two rooms we stayed in were badly in need of a good cleaning, but except for this minor issue, this is a lovely, clean, well-appointed hotel. It's decor is sophisticated -- a modern hotel with an international flavor. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, with very nice bathrooms and showers. Staff were, without exception, courteous and competent. Breakfast was unremarkable but sufficient with a buffet of rolls, bread, salami, cheese, yogurt, juice and canned fruit. Overall I was very pleased with the accomodations and impressed by the value of this hotel.

the hotel is very convenient. Garibaldi station is right next to the hotel. We were able to get the alibus for the airport, trains to Pompeii etc, the metro and buses from Garibaldi station/square. We didn't have to trail our luggage around or get taxis. The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke good english. Breakfast had good buffet choice - although get there early if you want hot food. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel on check-out day. The only disappointment was that the roof terrace was closed as we went out of season.

I booked the hotel thru venere when I arrived in Naples, so there was limited choice. Wanted to stay near the staion as we were moving on the next day. The hotel is perfectly placed next door to the station, and it was more than happy to store our luggage for us before and after we stayed in the room - another big plus. I have two small children, and the 4 of us stayed in a 3 bed room. The bed was nice and wide, and no problem for the smallest to squeeze in as well. There is a restaurant there which we did not try, but the menu looked interesting. B'kfast was included (which we didn't expect) and was extremely good. The only downside was a minor problem with the air conditioning on that day. All in all, my wife thought I had made a good choice for the last night of our stay in Italy, and she used to be a hotel manager!

Rooms were nice - small, but clean and modern. The hotel is getting a facelift so you can not use the balconies. Breakfast is good. It is right next to the train station, so the area around it is not that great - it is dirty and cramped, and there are only a couple of restaurant to get food in close by - but we never felt in danger and it was easy to get anywhere from there. It also has an underground parking facility

Very good value for money hotel but its position on Plaza Garibaldi is both good and bad. Good for the station with trains to Pompeii, Sorrento, Herculaneum etc but general surroundings are dirty and somewhat threatening. Staff generally very welcoming and helpful. I wouldn't go back to Naples again (it is a dirty city with very little of appeal) but for those wishing to spend time at Pompeii and elsewhere and use Naples as a base, the Start Hotel is probably as good as any.

First of all I was lost when I arrived and didnt find the hotel that easily. I did however find and was impressed with the hotel on a whole. the odd free things were not available, ie coffee in room, safe deposit in room and free robe in room, however they were not enough for me to complain about. The room was adaquate for a single person. The bar and restaurant were good and the service was excellant in both. The fact that the staff all spoke english helped me alot so another plus point.Breakfast was good although the hot food had alot to be desired for. General information for local sights and areas was also approached by the staff in reseption with a professional and useful manner. All in all my overall trip and stay was very good and i would concider staying their again.

It was a very nice 2 nights staying in Naples. People there were very friendly, room was clean and spatious and breakfast was great. Piazza Garibaldi is not the most beautiful place in Naples, but it is very easy to reach if you travel by train. The only bad thing I can think of it is that at the hotel they are rebuilding the front so it is not easy to open the window and it is not possible to appreciate the view of the Vesuvio from the 7th floor. But I am sure it'll be a wonderful place when finished. I would recommend this hotel as it is really worth the price!

The Terminus was a beautiful hotel with a very competent and kind staff. However, I was told that there was a free shuttle service that would pick us up at the airport and when I arrived it was not there. I called the hotel and was told that the shuttle would not be there and that I would have to take a cab. I was given no explanation for this and was upset that the shuttle was not available.

As I was travelling alone I decided to book into somewhere which looked good. It cost me 110 euro for the room, which was very small, slightly shabby and definitly not worth the money. The windows would not be opened as the exterior of the building was being renovated. The hotel advertised a complimentary car collection service from the airport to the hotel and visversa, infact this is a mini-bus service which only operates at certain times. As I would have had to wait over an hour and a half for it to collect me from the airport I ended up taking a bus. My flight the next morning was at 7.30am and the bus wouldn't get me there on time, so I had to take and pay for a taxi. For what the room cost it definitly wasn't worth it, infact I was very disappointed with it.

Hotel was difficult to locate as it was completely covered in scaffolding and under-going major renovations(which were not reflected in the price). Halls/communal areas were half-decorated and the terrace dining/breakfast room was shabby. Food and service was standard of a 3 star hotel and location was very 'down-town' Naples. We would not personally return to this hotel.

We had a great time here. Michele was especially good, but all the bar and restaurant staff were terrific. Front of house a bit mixed - depending probably on level of English they could speak (our fault for not speaking Italian). Gym was ok, but really hot - could have done with a pool to be absolutely perfect. If we ever go back to Naples, we'd certainly stay here - location was good, making it easy to get about and out of the city.

It was suprised for me how different the hotel in star hotel group. It was very poor quality than I stayed in other hotel of this hotel group before. Many flies in robby hall, unlicenced taxi drivers came into the lobby. Only one elevator is available(equipped) for all people. Many people walked up and down in stairs every morning. Anyway it is not recomened if you choose this hotel by only name of star hotel.

However, we did not find the staff to be particularly friendly, especially the barman who displayed a rather surly attitude. We attempted to eat dinner in the bar one evening, but were forced to find a meal outside the hotel because the barman ignored us.
