Santa Lucia Grand Hotel - Naples

This was our second stay as we had spent a night prior to our stay in Capri. The staff is by far the most accomodating of all hotels. The concierge, Marius, as well as others at the hotel went to the end of the world to provide unmatched services. Very nice hotel. We had two rooms ("Deluxe") with a beautiful direct view on the sea, at the 1st and 2nd floor respectively. The 2nd floor room was actually better, as larger and having two windows instead of one. Comfortable, international standards. Price was €245/night incl bkfst on average over the 5 last days of the year; can't if it is cheap or dear. Service was nice & helpful. Hotel can help with renting a car, finding restaurants, and so on. No international press. Very nice restaurants in the small marina in front of hotel, aside Castel del Uovo. Taxi station at 20 meters from hotel, always many cars waiting. Had a very nice time indeed.

We had a very comfortable stay, the staff were very helpful and competent. The food was excellent. The road was a little noisy but was manageable and inevitable from the position on Via Partenope. We would happily stay there again and recommend the hotel highly.

The Grand Hotel Santa Lucia is wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a better location--directly across from the Castel dell'Ovo and Borgo Marina. The view from our room's balcony was fantastic. The taxi lineup is on the corner, as is a bank. A dozen excellent restaurants are just a few blocks away. The Porto di Napoli, with boats to Capri and Sorrento, is an easy 1-mile walk. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was small but elegantly furnished. The complimentary breakfast was a full breakfast with eggs, vegetables, ham, pastries, fresh fruit, cereal and more. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. And the price we got through Venere.com was such a deal! We were thoroughly pleased with the service, the hotel and the location. A few tips for first-time travelers to Naples: Be prepared to spend a lot on nice meals and taxis. Banks close at 4:30 p.m. and are not open on weekends, so plan for that. US dollars are not accepted most places. Restaurant tips can't be added to credit card charges; you have to tip in Euros, so have plenty on hand. The change kiosk at the airport charged a whopping 17.5% fee, so avoid those. And be sure to visit the Castel dell'Ovo for incredible views of Mt. Vesuvius and the bay.

Excellent!!!!

Very nice hotel, well located (in front of the sea, not so far from downtown). We had been upgraded, in a senior suite on the top floor. A very good choice to stay in Napoli for a long week-end.

I was given a very large room on the top floor, with a very small veranda overlooking the bay of Naples. It was a very room, with a large LCD screen tv that I barely used but it was pretty nice. The breakfast was quite good and included in the price of the room. Service was very good. My only gripe is with the high prices charged for the internet access. It seems to be some weird trend that the nicer the hotel, the more expensive the internet access. Cheaper/simpler hotels are now differentiating themselves by offering this for free. Beyond that, I highly recommend this place, although I do think that I got a very nice room since it was not yet the high season.

This hotel was excellent and very welcoming in superb location. We received a room upgrade and the room was everything we could have asked for with marvellous views. Highly recomended. We want to go back.

Great location, a smart hotel in a very pretty road over looking the sea and a castle.

The hotel was very good quality. However the air conditioning was a constant irritation and the room never cooled well. the hotel staff was not aware of an open-air tour bus that was within 15 minutes walking distance of the hotel. I highly recommend this service. I would have taken all tours if I had found it earlier. It is located adjacent to the New Castle near the Port.
