Nice hotel, they were conducting renovations during my stay, no major impacts just a bit of noise. No wifi to the rooms but you can get free 30 min lobby login tickets. Wifi does work in room when you use the lobby ticket login, not sure why they don't offer wifi as part of your room rate. Very nice view with sea view of Castle Ova.

Great Views over the bay, good sized clean rooms, comfortable beds and over all very good value. Be aware there are no tea making facilities in the room though so you may want to pack a travel kettle !

This is not our first stay in Royal Continental Hotel in Naples and we are always greatly pleased by the comfort and position of this Hotel. This time we got a triple room and we had space enough for 3 people, with a nice surprise: a wonderful balcony on the seaside, in spite we did not pay any additional cost for having it. We will return here again by sure.

Spent 4 days on a Junior Suite. Excellent views. Very good bed and very quite room, despite beeing over the street. Swimming pool on the roof is much better then I anticipated from photos. Wonderfull views! Relation price/quality is quite good. breakfast is good , but can be improved! I do recommend this hotel. Good restaurants around and easy to walk to the city!

It is one of the best Hotels in Naples, in my opinion. Central, professional service, wonderful view (but only the sea view, the other rooms are facing other buildings). Not cheap, but wonderful public areas, and spacious rooms. Little wardrobes, though. One thing to remember, if you want the sea view, do not take a room below the 4th floor, the street in front is very noisy all day round, and late at night during the weekends. Still a bad habit of expensive Hotels: one has to pay for internet wireless in the room. At the youth hostel is for free... The prices at the bar are ridiculously insane (7 euros for a little glass of Limoncello! The same price as an entire bottle), you'll pay less in the best cafes downtown.

This is a much more interesting hotel than you might think at first sight. If I stayed again I would try to get one of the restored Gio Ponti designed rooms on the first floor. There is some amazing 1950s furniture too and a roof top pool. The room we had overlooked the Castel dell'Ovo, with a little terrace ( a bit noisy with the traffic below, but fine once you get used to it). The only down side was the rather poor breakfast - at these prices you'd think you'd get better orange juice, and the coffee wasn't up to much. Lack of attention to detail let's the place down a bit, but overall we had a pleasant stay.

Great lunch in restaraunt, excellent view of castle and sea from our balcony, wonderful views from breakfast room/restaraunt, and from top floor terrace at night. Easy to walk or taxi into the center of Naples.

Awesome location for a journey in Naples. Americans must be their most usual customers as the implicit request for continued tip clearly shows. That's asphyxiating, bothering and expensive! We stayed in a superior ocean view room and the upholstery (especially chairs' one) was not the maximum cleaning plus at night at 2am, probably because there was a celebration at the floor above ours (the second last one)which is not unusual for the hotel an incredible loud started to end only around 6am and notwithstanding we called the reception to solve the situation. Other than this (which is not an neglectable detail)the place is very nice, breakfast was plentiful, varied and delicious (maybe not for the American and Deutsch standards), the view and the position are among the best ones in Naples.

Nice location on the bay. Hotel is larger so more business oriented. Room nice, but bathroom could be updated, carpet a bit spotty. Not willig to come down on price for next two nights, so opted for paying a bit more at the San Lucia nearby for the next two nights.

We had a quiet room at the back of the hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located near a very modern train station and within a short walking distance of the Colloseum and lots of other sights. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb each day.

This is only the second time I've stayed in Naples. This hotel improved my perception of the city. It is set by the seafront looking towards an old fort only a few minutes walk from some lovely restaurants in a harbour. The rooms are large and comfortable (we had superior sea view room). Hotel service is highly variable - air con problem fixed immediately, but check out completely chaotic.

This hotel was perfectly located, close to excellent restaurants with a beautiful view, within walking distance (if luggage is light) to the ferry. The pool area was nice, as was the restaurant. The rooms were spacious but in need of some paint touch up - but that's a minor detail compared to what they have to offer. They are even kind enough to hold your luggage for a few days, as they did for us when we made a trip over to Capri and didn't want to take our three weeks worth of suitcases.

This is a modern, pleasant hotel. It's near the main shopping area and within walking distance of the National Museum -- but the best thing about this was the location. We had a room with a stunning view of the Bay of Naples overlooking the Castle D'Ovo. It was lovely. Also it was easy to reach by car, although I didn't realize that until I arrived. The staff was rather aloof. We visited during a taxi strike, and no one seemed very helpful about this (we had to get to and from the airport lugging five suitcases -- not easy without taxis in a strange city). The breakfast was good. But the view -- priceless.

Average Hotel...but location is great!! When you enter the room, it states that the furniture is the original from 1953. Is that supposed to be a good thing?!?!? But the view from the room was great!! and it was in a very nice part of the city.

The first room we had was on the front of the hotel overlooking the main road. The view from the room was breathtaking. It was November and still fairly warm so we needed to keep the window open and night and the street was a little noisy. In the summer the air conditioning would be on and this would not have been an issue. The staff was very accomodating and when we extended our stay moved us to a room on the side. We had some difficulties with the wireless service in the lobby.

Hotel reflected the description in the website with one exception - did not inform that there are two hotels in one the Royal somewhat traditional and the Continental more modern in style both v.good, having two receptions. Staff was very good on the Royal side where we stayed = cannot comment on the Continental side!

Some years ago we had stayed at the top Albergo Vesuvio next door and were now afraid that the Royal Continental would be a lot worse, but it actually was better! Our room was larger, the balconies are large enough to seat two or more at the table and the views over the Bay and of the Vesuv, as well as the marina St.Lucia are to die for! There even are controllable balcony sunshades. Only the entrance hallway is so narrow that you have to close the closet doors to be able to pass. This is of minor importance though. The extra door between the room and entrance hallway keeps out any hallway noise. We really had a very enjoyable stay at the Royal C. On any next Napoli visit - for us it will be the same Hotel!

This hotel is beautiful, clean and comfortable. We arrived in the afternoon and went straight up to the roof pool, really lovely and relaxing. There were some really good resturants along the road outside, excellent food, service and value for money, actually the best restaurant we ate in Italy. The view onto Naples castle was beautiful and there were plenty of bars and restaurants over on the island that the castle was on, just a short walk from the hotel. As for the rest of Naples, I would not advise you to look around, a very dirty city which just didnt feel safe, but as I said the area around this hotel is fine.

The location of the hotel is great and it was very comfortable. We had a great view of the bay of Naples. Great staff, very pleasant swimming pool on the roof, and continental breakfast served in room for an additional 6 euros (for 2). The Royal continental is a very good hotel. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The bed was very hard, though. Breakfast (included in our price) was excellent, the view from the breafast room magnificent. The neighborhood was safe, with some nice restaurants around the corner. The better shopping and fancier streets were a bit of a trek. I would go back to this hotel again anytime. With the weak dollar it was very expensive though!

The hotel was in a good area with lots of restaurants around it. The view from our room was stunning. The area around the hotel was good and you could walk easily to the shops and sightseeing.

Quality of breakfast was not up to the standards of a 4* hotel - also note there are 2 interconnected hotels - the photos on this site refer to the adjacent Hotel Royal I had booked a junior suite which was actually 2 double rooms connected together The views from the balconies were magnificent and also the area is probably the best you can choose in Naples

Ask for a room with ocean view and a view of the Castle. It makes a big difference. The staff is quiet and responsive. The rooms are very clean. Parking is worth the price. I jogged along the water every morning before breakfast. The breakfast is good enough and they will make any kind of coffee you want. I ate in my room often and found the menu and the cooking to be excellent, better than many restaurants in town. 5 minute walk from Via Toledo shopping and the Ferry terminal to Capri. This is my second year in a row staying here and I will probably stay here again next year.

It was very confusing as the Royal Continental are two hotels joined together when you book you don`t know which you`ll be staying in. Both are the same price, the Royal being the more updated and well used as the Continental is in serious need of refurbishment and redecorating and lacks any warmth or ambiance.
