The hotel is air conditioned the rooms are not! Cars start driving by early in the morning and there is a lot of honking in what is supposed to be their 'private parking'. Breakfast was packaged products or processed cheese slices with processed ham and syrupy juice. The area is dodgey and pretty much you are just waiting to get mugged the whole time. We asked the reception for a dinner recommendation to which she gave a vague response of anywhere near the metro stations by the sea! The hotel was clearly a lovely old house in it's day and the garden would be lovely if it wasn't fully over grown.

loved the interior (antique style furnitures and cozy) but it was a bit away from the central. Restaurants are far away. the room was very small but considering the price(79euro/night)it was ok for just one night stay. breakfast menu was very normal but freshly baked croissant and bread was one of the best that I have ever had!!

It is the first time I stay in this hotel. It was previously an old Villa in the surroundings of Naples that was turned to an hotel. It has style, as far as the architecture is concerned. The rooms, although not large are comfortable in general. The facilities provided by the hotel are simple, but reasonable for those that plan a short stay and are not looking for lots of amenities. The location is a little bit far from downtown Naples.

This hotel is located convenient to the freeway north of Naples to the Airport; it is easy get to when arriving on the main highways or Airport. The staff is very good and accomodating. Unfortuneately, this nice hotel is located in a marginal neighborhood (but there are few good neighborhoods in Naples). The hotel serves breakfest only and has a limited bar; you must go out for all other meals. Bus service or Taxi is the best way to get to areas with more services but they are slow because of the congestion of Naples. Buses were very crowded during the day. The Metro line is a 20 minute walk; I would not make this walk at night alone. The hotel is a good value in comparison to other properties in Naples (if you must stay in Naples; I would stay elsewhere and travel in by train for the day to see the sites)

Napoli is a magnificant place to go but......be careful!!! It´s really frightening, espec. at night and espec. at the Spanish quarter!!! But we had a very good service at the hotel. They gave us a very good warning - very detailed. It was a very nice stay and we like to thank the people in Hotel Villa Ranieri for their excellent service they provided.

How to reach Hotel Villa Ranieri

By car
From all the highways, take the Tangenziale (by pass) and exit at Capodimonte. Follow the obligatory direction to the right and you will arrive into Corso Amedeo di Savoia. Continue for 500 metres and you will find the Villa Ranieri Hotel on the corner of Via Cagnazzi.

By train
From Naples central train station, take the underground line 1 in Piazza Garibaldi and get off at Piazza Cavour stop. Continue on foot to Piazza Museo and take the R4 bus in via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi stop. You will arrive in Corso Amedeo di Savoia and you will find Villa Ranieri Hotel on the corner of Via Cagnazzi.

By airplane
From Naples Capodichino Airport, take a taxi or the Alibus service which departs from the airport every 30 minutes to the Naples central train station. From here, follow the indications above.
