I felt that our room was small with no view and was given no options , even to upgrade. The price was steep for such a room. I wouldn't even have thought there was a room so small at the hotel. When we checked in we also were not even greeted with a smile. I would not stay there again. Venere's services were very good though this was not a hotel with a welcoming good atmoshpere.

Stayed 2 nights in late May 2004. Architecture of building nice. Room not much to speak of. Balcony nice. Roll up shutter over balcony only light blocking device on window. Once we got it up (difficult to do), we couldn't get it back down. You order breakfast the day before and they bring breakfast to your room, but they didn't tell us about it when we checked in. When we went downstairs in the morning for breakfast there was none there. They did bring some up shortly though. Morning/day staff much more helpful than evening/night staff.

Great location to all sites and the view of the Naples waterfront was breathtaking. The hotel was beautiful out side and inside, nicely decorated. We had a triple room,it was a bit small but we didnt spend much time in our room anyway. The rooms, bathroom and hotel was very clean. They didnt have an elevator, but the porter carried our bags up to the second floor so that wasnt a huge issue. The breakfast was served in our rooms rather than a breakfast room. You could order coffee, tea espresso, cappachino, rolls, croisants yogurt, juice and cereal, which was adequate for us. Ther was only one problem that we requested our breakfast to be sent to the room at 9-9:30 and both days they tried to deliver it at 8:00am. I would definatly recommend this hotel as long as you dont have a problem with stairs. We would stay here again.

The Rex neighborhood, Santa Lucia, is pretty comfortable and convenient. Our room was quite small with windows opening only to a large dreary airshaft. An exterior view or balcony would have been welcome (or would it have been noisy?). Biggest drawback was absence of a dining area. The breakfasts were delivered to the room, roughly on time. But they were of low, boring quality. Positive feature was the free, on-line access via a working computer on one side of the small lobby. The desk staff was poorly informed about details of the local bus service. They assured us that holiday bus service would be normal (but it was totally cancelled), and they told us to wait for an infrequent bus (unaware that a much more frequent local line would have provided far better service for the same price).

Information about parking facilities was wrong. There was no parking to the hotel but the employees did not mension that I had to pay to a "freind" garage. I could not take the car out without paying 63 E. On the photo the hotel was at sea side and had parking area around it. It was not at sea side and it had no parking. The double bed was not understood and I received two adjointed beds.

The hotel is at an excellent location but the hotel people are not helpful, kind or nice. The hotel has not a cafeteria to eat breakfast so they serve breakfast in the room (they do not take the orders right).

Wonderfully located, close to the sea. "Honest" place where you get what you pay and receive excellent service.

The Hotel is well situated, near other main hotels and restaurants (specially those around Castel Dell'Ovo which are very nice). It is also possible to walk to the downtown area (Galeria Humberto I is about 10 minutes). The room was good and with very low level of noise (we could sleep pretty well). Since they do not have a specific room for breakfast, it is served in your room without additional cost. One of the front desk clerks barely understands English, and this can really make things difficult for those who do not speak/understand a single word of Italian. There is an independent garage nearby, which cost 21 Euro per day; you also have to leave the car keys.

Good hotel in a good location. Close to the waterfront and restaurants/bars, etc. Not too far from City Centre shops, although the station is a bit of a walk. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms clean, but a little small for the price and noise rather loud at times in the night.

We stayed for 2 nights in July and paid 100 euro each night through venere. The day time receptionist (old guy) cannot speak a word of English. Also he was not too welcoming. The night guy (younger guy) was more friendly and could speak English which helped. The location of the hotel is supposed to be in a good area of Naples (Santa Lucia/Chiaia) .. but it is very difficult to get to downtown. There is only one bus which takes you to the station and is very infrequent. The breakfast is delivered to the room ; you have to fill a questionierre the previous night as to what you want ; we selected cereal but got it without milk and cereal bowls ! guess we had to check that too in the questionere. However the room was very clean but bathroom was tiny. TV did not have any English channel ; no fridge in the room. The hotel is on a side street so no views of the Bay. We felt that 100 euros is too much for this kind of room and service .. will not stay in this hotel again.

Very pleasant hotel with beautiful rooms. One negative remark: breakfast served in room, but no knives for butter, no cups for cornflakes and usually you get something else than ordered.
