We stayed one night in the Pinto Storey Hotel in Naples before travelling to Sorrento later the next day. After reading some bad reports about taxi transfers from the airport we were a little apprehensive but luckily we had a really friendly driver (couldnt understand what he was saying though!) who took us to the hotel for the price recommeded by the guidebooks (no attempts to rip us off thank goodness!). The hotel is located above some offices and you have to take the lift up to the correct floor. We were were warmly welcomed by hotel staff. The room was very clean and much more spacious than we had anticipated. The hotel is located in what seemed a safe area and we felt able to walk around at night time without feeling threatened. As we hadnt paid for air-conditioning, we slept with the windows open which meant things were quite noisy....but this all added to the Naples experience...listening to the chaos outside. Breakfast was excellent: cereal, yoghurt, croissants, cakes, tea, coffee, juice all served to you at the table. If we visit Naples in the future we would definaltely stay at this hotel again.

Pinto Storey was an excellent hotel for our trip. It is within a block of the Metro and in a busy shopping area with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The staff was very helpful in arranging tours and providing directions. They had a nice continental breakfast every morning.

This time I had a roomm on 4th floor that was not at the same level of the one at 5th I had other times. Older, specially in the bathroom. The personal is kind and competent. A good stay

The best part of the Pinto Storey Hotel is that it is centrally located and is perfectly placed in the center of Naples-near many restaurants that most tourist woulds overlook. I loved the old style of the room and hotel-it blended nicely with the neighborhood.

I have stayed at this hotel before, at least twice. The fact i returned would suggest that the combination of location and price is good. The staff are welcoming and if it is necessary also speak good English. The accommodation is on a floor of an old building, the entrance to which takes a little finding. A modern building would be brighter, but then, that is not a reason for going to Napoli? As an area it is relatively safe with reastaurants and bars within easy reach. Buses can take you to other parts of the city quite quickly and are cheap. I have also found the taxis to be very economical and have even used them to do little tours around the place.... one does NOT go to Capodimonte by foot for example. This is the more expensive shopping area of the City but you can look and not buy. A good convenient hotel which is easy to return to from bars / restaurants later at night.

This was our first visit to Italy and once we had decided to go and after making our booking, people we told thought we were mad! Naples is a chaotic city with many contrasts. Architectural splendour, designer shops by the side of poverty and graffiti.....but there was something about the city that made it appealing. Traffic, constant noise, shouting, laughing.... we even ended up as part of the congregation at a wedding in the Duomo, the magnificent cathedral. The hotel chosen at randon from information gleened from the internet turned out to be a gem. Located centrally in a better area of Naples it was convienient to all the places one wants to visit. The metro, funnicula and tour buses were all available locally. The hotel staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly. They arranged a tour to Pompeii and Mt Versuvius which was brilliant and the guide just knew everything. Nothing was too much trouble. We would go again and plan to. It is a quiet hotel and had limited facilities but for the visitor who spends most of the day out, a comfortable bed enabled a good rest. An evening drink and a bedtime cuppa were available upon request as well as a chat with the staff about the city and what to visit and do. As the hotel only provided a limited breakfast eating out was essential. Everyone was so helpful and friendly eating out was a pleasure as well as an adventure as we could not speak or read any Italian (so a phrase book was very handy. We found an excellent restaurant called Coco Loco

Interesting hotel. Quiet respite in the chaos of Naples. Hotel lived up to expectations based on internet information. Reservation was ready and waiting when we arrived; rate was what we expected. One caution, hotel begins at the 4th floor of an older office building. When you enter lobby there is no indication the hotel reception is located on the 4th floor. Also after normal business hours the lobby door is locked and you have to buzz the hotel on the door intercom to gain admission. No problem if you expect this, otherwise you might be taken aback. Hotel was a classic, very clean, nicely decorated and modern. Room and bath were larger than most. Staff was friendly, competent, and helpful in arranging tours and airport transfer. Continetal breakfast was good, but not sumptious. Surrounding area seemed safe, and we walked to most local restaurants and other destinations. Metro station is nearby. Also nearby is finicular to top of hill where a good downtown shopping area is located. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Good location relative to underground (a few minutes from city center). Just leave the underground station and here it is: looking 30º degrees right on right corner. Staff pleasent. Breakfast OK, however I missed white bread (only). Isolation of rooms is very good: beware of other guests noise only. Pizza DaMichelle down the road quite good: efficient and fast service. Supermarket close to buy what you need. The area around seems safe. Bus stop a few steps away. Beware: underground closes early. The transfer service was ok and can be a good choice for those travelling in group or arriving late. No security problems felt anywhere during our stay . Take care with two wheels drivers mainly (and others also). Fascinant city.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Only two criticisms. First the lavatory flush did not work very well, Secondly, the quality of the breakfast offered was really poor.

We were so happy with the Pinto Storey as we had a bad experience in Sorrento. It was charming with a real individual touch to the rooms and plenty of space too. The service was very sincere and helpful. The location was good - ten mins to the centre of the city.

Naples is a confusing but fascinating city. A detailed map for drivers with the exit from the highway and route to hotel, would be helpful. Also, the parking garage is hard to locate. The hotel location is wonderful, very close to the METRO. The balcony off the room is charming. We would return.

A very nice hotel in what seemed to be a nicer part of town. Easy to find but not easy to get into as the entrance is into a building that is not all the hotel. When we arrived quite late it was locked and in the dark you could not see the bell to call the porter. The breakfast (which is brought to your room) comprises only coffee, cake and fruit juice. Nevertheless a pleasant, clean room and good location would tempt me to re-book this hotel if in Naples.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pinto Storey. The room was spacious, very clean, had a comfortable bed and great shower, and as advertised, a lovely view of the bay--just as in the photos. The staff was cordial and very helpful in suggesting restaurants, arranging for taxis, and booking a tour to Pompei. We would definitely recommend the Pinto-Storey, and will stay there again when in Naples.

A lovely, well cared for old hotel in a good area. Very close to subway and buses and an easy walk to the waterfront. Felt safe walking at night in the area and the staff were helpful and made good recommendations for dining and excursions. We enjoyed a view of the Bay of Naples, Capri and Vesuvius from our room. Who could ask for more? Because of current renovations the new reception room, lounge and breakfast room were not open, but it will be even nicer when completed. An easy recommend!

we were not told that the hotel was being referbished. As a result there was no dining room or bar as advertised, this was not 3 stars.I had no breakfast because all that was available was croissents, i dont like them. The coffee was cold as it had to be fetched from the cafe next door. I was woken at 6.30 every morning by the residents in the block the hotel shared. Staff were friendly but a reduction should have been made, there was no service available or we should have been told. Other residents booked out but because our stay was short I could do with the hastle of finding another hotel.

Public rooms were in a wing of the hotel undergoing construction so obviously this meant bar and breakfast room were not available. However, the hotel did deliver a continental breakfast to our room. The location of the hotel was quite convenient to several restaurants and not far from the park adjoining the waterfront. ALthough not in the immediate vicinity of the hustle and bustle of Naples, it was a safe and relatively quiet area, with public transport and taxis easily available.

We had a fantastic stay at the Pinto Storey, Room 5 has fantastic views and is very spacious. The only disappointment was the fact that the bar/breakfast room were being renovated and the wonderful breakfasts that the hotel boasts turned out to be a cold coffee and bun in the bedroom!! However I hope to return one day!

The hotel was located in a pleasant area of Naples just off the Piazza Amadeo where there is a metro station and taxi rank as well as beautiful shops and designer boutiques. We found the staff very helpful and the hotel was clean and well presented and very secure. The view from the hotel over the bay of Naples is fantastic so it's worth spending the extra 20 euros or so for a sea view (we regretted not doing so) Fantastic art deco staircase also... All in all a good hotel in an excellent area

What the site and other information doesn't tell you is just how well located this hotel is. So close to metro, buses, funicular, good shopping, restaurants, bars and Mergellina sea front. Our room was well furnished with a good standard of fittings and had a good view of the bay - just like on the hotel's web-site. All staff genuinely friendly and so helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is centrally located to visit Napels and at the start of the main shopping area. Also for people who would like to take the boat to Capri or Sorrento, the hotel is a short taxi drive away from the harbour. The hotel uses a taxi company to the harbour, city or airport and you pay the fair in the hotel so no haggling with taxi drivers. The environment of the hotel is lively and safe although we had harly any noise in the room. The staff is nice and professional. The only negative thing we could say is that the breakfast could have been a little better for the price paid for the room. It consisted of a juice, coffee or tea, one coissant and a yoghurt.

The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and comfortable and the staff friendly. The hotel is well situated near to a pleasant shopping street and areas with bars and restaurants.

We almost missed our train because there was no one on duty at 8:00 a.m. to check us out! We would never go back. Also room supplies were skimped upon. The breakfast was unvarying and monotonous and did not allow person choice as in most Italian hotels of this quality. The elevator allowed only two people at a time. Most luggage wouldn't fit. We had to walk up 5 floors of stairs frequently. We paid premium prices for two "view" rooms. The views are minimal. This is the second yearly vacation in Italy. Pinto-Storey did not come off well at all. We would never go back.

I strongly recommend Pinto Storey as an excellent place to stay. Its location alone (so close to the Metro, wonderful bars and restaurants and views) would make me say that but there is more. The room was just what we wanted and the entrance to the building very impressive. All in all the hotel contributed largely to a wonderful weekend in Naples. (Next time I'll take the wife!!!)

The Hotel is located in a nice area, and very near to the city center. I liked the entrance and the stairway very much. y room was OK, but there was a terrible mixture of old and modern (not very nice) furniture. And too many plastic plants. I liked the room because it was quiet and airy, with a nice view. I could see the moon from my bed! My tiny little shower/bath room was in a poor condition. The other rooms are probably better.

Good location for restaurants and bars. Single rooms small due to space taken by the bathroom within the existing room space. This also made the room a little dark as bathroom blocked window.
