Hotel Iris - Naples

The location was right by the train station, which was great for getting into town and getting to the airport; not so great for seediness and pickpockets. Every guide book said hold onto your wallet. We almost freaked out getting stuck in the lift because it cost 10 centimes, which we didn't know and didn't have, and the lights went off with us in it and we couldn't get out. If we hadn't been yelling and pounding on the door when someone walked by inside the building lobby there's no telling how long we might have been stuck in there. On the other hand, the front desk staff were as nice as could be and helped us out with a map and some advice. And when we went to leave at 4:30am the owner was getting off work and personally drove us to the airport in his car. The staff were great, the bed was comfortable, the location (although seedy) was convenient, and the price was right. If you're looking for a place to sleep that's cheap and easy to get to, and you don't mind holding your breath a little, it's very good value for the money. The people were so nice!

Awful surroundings with litter all around. Vagabonds hanging around outside the hotel all night long.Entrance to the hotel very bad, apart from the rooms and reception. Scary elevator. Low water pressure in the shower. Avoid!

Hotel very convenient for trains and buses and Metro. Lots of restaurants of all types in area. Hotel 2 floors up. There is a tiny elevator that costs 10 cents. TV is high up on the wall, which I hate. Breakfast has pre-packaged croissants, but there were toasted ham and cheese sandwiches available. But dishes used for the breakfast seemed dirty. Felt the hotel was a good value, however.

Sometimes people talk loud and annoying noise in the room. In the room everything works, air conditioning, wi fi, hot water, etc. and is always clean.
