The hotel is very good. The town is terrible. I never saw something like this. Was a terrible life experience. But CAPRI deserve all the money and all the efforts to see it. IS WONDERFUL, MAGNIFIQUE!!!!

Nice little hotel not far way from the city center. We stayed there to visit Pompei and Ercolano and the vicinity of the Garibladi Station was excellent

My husband and i stayed at the hotel, it was just basic, the room stunk of cigarette. i suppose Itlay being law less they dont obey the regulation. i will recomend a 4 star next time as surrounding outside are quite dirty and messy ... guess it all due to the bin men strike for over a year... o.k on a B & B basis

Our first visit to this hotel (one night) was better than expected. Although the surroundings were not great, this part of the city was dirty and somewhat run down with many indigents, the hotel was better than the other one we stayed at on an earlier visit of this trip. Its location was good with many transportation options available close by. The breakfast on the 6th floor terrace was very enjoyable and better than expected.

The hotel was good value for money but Napoli is not a city I will return to. I had a camera stolen from a carrier bag while stepping off a bus (the R2 "Tourist Bus") from Garribaldi Central Station to Royal Palace and my wife very nearly had her wallet stolen during the same incident. We subsequently learned that the R2 bus is particularly noted for such thefts. Overall we found a hostile / threatening atmosphere in Naples and will definitely not return

We Were only in Naples for the night after getting off a train from Florence and then going on by bus the next morning. The room was clean and comfortable, but as you would expect it was noisy from traffic outside as we were very central and close to the train station. We shut the windows and it was okay. The staff were helpful and always available.

Friendly and helpful staff. Room and bathroom clean however an army of ants on the floor! The breakfast on offer was poor but everyone was very pleasant and we were allowed to leave our luggage during the day we left. Sadly Naples was of course covered in uncollected rubbish during our stay which was off-putting. Probably a hotel best suited to students/young travellers

We stayed there for the first time. Breakfast: coffee or tea, sausage, cheese, jam, butter, yoghurt, fruits, juice. Nice terrace at breakfast, but shut in the evening. Clean room, but noisy from the adjoining rooms.

The hotel has updated the rooms and corridors nicely, but this remains a poor area of the city. Naples is depressing. We arrived late in the day and left early the next day. Bed cover was stained, but otherwise the room was clean.

The area around the Napoli train station was somewhat chaotic and disturbing compared to other parts of Italy I visited. However, it wasn't as bad as some reviewers have described it. The hotel is easy to find once you know where you're going, but I found it difficult to locate the right street because the map provided was not sufficient. Overall, my stay was satisfactory. The room was spacious and clean. We had a view of the city from a balcony, and hotel reception was very helpful. The price was okay, considering some of the rundown facilities I'd stayed in in other parts of Italy. So if I have to stay in Napoli again and needed to be near the train station, I would consider staying in the Garden again.

We needed a room for 4 (3 beds), and wanted private bath and a balcony. We got the largest room at Garden with private bath, but no balcony. After seeing room sizes, this was OK. We were treated very well by all, especially when we asked to have caffe (American style) and capuchino in our room. The owner/manager was exceptional. The drawback was the noise (city sounds all night). While not "in the best neighborhood," it was central to both Alibus and train station. We will very likely go back.

The hotel has rooms at the seventh and eighth floor. I think the best rooms are at the eighth floor as they have a huge terrace with views of Naples and the street noise is far away. Breakfast is moderate but fairly good and the staff is helpful.

The hotel is quite nice and clean. Decent breakfast and friendly staff. Unfortunately, Naples (Piazza Garibaldi) is not the best of locations (not the hotel's fault). The streets are littered with garbage and you need eyes in the back of your head when walking at night. Next time I will stay in the ouskirts of Naples (i.e. Sorrento).

This was a comfortable, cheap hotel. Rooms were large. Located within blocks of the train station. With that said, when you read that this area is seedy, it is an understatement! You will only use this property to sleep and shower and will want to leave the area during the day. We traveled from here to Pompei and Sorrento on one day via train. Took the Ferry to Capri. The bus stop is outside of the hotel and across the street from the train station. Several buses run to the pier. The cost is 30 euros, per person, roundtrip. I also traveled from Naples to Sicily via ship. Overall, I would stay at this property again, if I stayed in Naples. Probably will not ever stay in Naples again.

The hotel room as good, pretty spacious, the breakfast and the hotel staff were good. The website promised air conditioning but it was not available. The trouble with this hotel though, is the neighborhood. It is definitely not an area that you can take a leisurely walk, especially in the evening.

Very good hotel, a very rate and great location. The only issue was the reluctance of the hotel to switch on the airconditioning. They would not do so until 3pm and would turn it off overnight, I assume to save money. The excuse when this was raised was a little lame, being that there was a technical problem. However, this problem occurred at the same time each day, reoccurred each night and the staff always seemed to be surprised!!

We needed a hotel near the train station as we were leaving early in the morning we only had a booking for 1 night. The hotel is nice but in a seedy part of town we were scared to go out as there was alot of undersirables around the area. Don't know what breakfast was like as we left very early in the morning to catch a train. The room we stayed in was nice.Staff were OK they really did not go out of their way to advise us on where to go ect. The maps on these sites are almost useless. It took us so long to find this hotel, it was farther than the map indicated, and even the people in Naples can't help you find it (at least the ones we asked). As far as the hotel, it's a nice one, but the janitor I think goes around at about 7:30 or 8 in the morning opening and SLAMMING all the doors of the rooms that are empty. It was ridiculous. The desk staff was awesome though.

The location near the station is very convenient for a temporary stay, we were staying overnight before going on down to the Amalfi coast. The desk staff were cheerful and most helpful. Breakfast was good with a limited choice of cereal, fruit juice, cheeses and cold meats, rolls and conserves. The lady in charge of the dining room was very welcoming. The lavatory seat was broken on one side and the rubbish in the street was off putting.

The Garden is a nice hotel, the surrounding area is not so nice though and traffic, graffiti and begging is a problem. However it is in a great position for getting around as it's close to the train station. We easily travelled to Pompeii and Sorrento by train and it's about a 15 minute walk to the harbour where you can get the hydrofoil over to Capri. There are a couple of good restaurants outside the hotel. My only faults of the hotel is the breakfast is limited and exactly the same every day and they were unable to supply us with a map of the area which every hotel we've stayed at have managed to do. If I wanted to visit Naples again I would have no hesitation in booking into the Garden again.

This place was really clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The one downside is that you are by the train station and it is super sketchy at night. We arrived around 10pm and were greeted by groups of unsavory people as well as dirty streets with poor lighting. That being said, we were only staying overnight and needed to be close to the station, so this hotel was perfect for us. Breakfast was decent and the room was clean and spacious.

English: The Garden Hotel is the best way to have a good service while saving money. Rooms are clean, breakfast is correct and the employees are friendly and useful. The surroundigs are busy but no noise inside the rooms. Easy to reach the centre with buses from piazza Garibaldi. Perfect position to reach trains to Pompei or Margellina Napples area. We have really enjoyed Napples this August.

It was our first visit to Napoli as elder couple and we were very positively surprised. This is true what is said about drawbacks of Napoli in guides but we are not going to live there but to see it and surroundings (Pompei, Erculanum and Capri - at least). The churches in Napoli - with their vast interiors in marble made in real Spanish touch - were the greatest positive surprise! As for the hotel, the fact that it is at the last floor makes the view offered incredible for first visitors as us. It is bit noisy, all right, but with windows closed the noise is gone. I'd advise it for anybody going to Napoli for short visit.

The room was quiet and well kept despite a bit small. There is the air conditioner and radio, tv, hair drayer. The only problem is the lift.. it is little and you have to pay 0,10 cents. But the hotel is near the centre: Spaccanapoli. And I definitely recommend it because it is really worth the price!

I reserved 4 rooms for our group of 7 persons. All participants were satisfied with the Garden Hotel and its services. I have one suggestion to the hotel management: Put a sign into the elevator which relates the room numbers to the floor. The numbering beginning on the top floor is somewhat unusual.

This was good for a night. Naples is a VERY DIRTY city! The transportation system leaves a lot to be desired. Location of the hotel to the train station is excellent, very short walk. There's really nothing to see or do in Napoli. Only stayed one night to catch a boat to Capri. The hotel is very nice, staff is polite but speak very little English, or so they claim. The continental breakfast is just that, hard bread, cheese and meat. Some cereals and a little fruit with pastry and coffee. OK for the money and just for one night. Napoli is a very noisy city and the rooms although they say air conditioned, it's very slight. You have no control over the temp so it's very hot. Be aware, if you ask for a double bed you'll get two twins pushed together that come apart all night! (That's almost anywhere in Italy.)I probably would use this hotel again for an overnight stay only.

We've got an apartment on the "second" floor with a decent view on Naples panorama from the balcony. The "second" is quoted, because it is in fact on the roof level. Competent stuff. Quite good breakfast. Very nice hotel with excellent price/quality ratio. Highly recommended.

A wonderful stay, i have nothing to say, we were happily surprised and we were expecting a lot! Very, very good relationship between price and quality. The hotel is very close to the railway station, which is very practical to go to Pompeii and other important touristic places, in Napoli or elsewhere. It's also very close to the Decumani (very nice typical Napolitan streets), you can leave by night and have wonderful walks in the heart of Napoli... I highly recommand this hotel.

I was very happy with this hotel. I was a little concerned that that the noise level would be high as it is right on the street, but in fact when you go into the building the hotel is on the upper floors and has double-glazed windows. I was on the very top floor and had a fantastic balcony. Unfortunately I went between Christmas and New Year's 2004 and it had been raining all night and day, so the view was sort of gray and shrouded. But I would definitely return in warmer weather as the panorama is spectacular. And from the breakfast room you see a beautiful view in the other direction. Value for money. :o)

Although the personnel was nice and friendly, the room we had benefited from all sorts of noises: -from waterpipes of surrounding rooms -from the TV set and conversation of the neighbours late at night. There is no lounge availabe for guest, except the tiny bar area at the end of the reception corridor. The surroundings are quite dirty (garbages all over the place) and the breakfast was average. In summary, we found the price oversized for the quality of the service. The only advantage is the proximity of the railway station.

Used as a one night stopover. Friendly welcome with helpful hints re wearing gold and other useful survival tips were forthcoming without the need to ask. Reception is on ground floor and rooms on 'first & second floors' which are actually floors 6 & 7 of the building! Bonuses here are reduced noise and good overviews of the locality. Room was clean, well equipped and reasonably spacious and buffet breakfast was in line with usual standards we have experienced in city hotels on our travels throughout Italy. We enjoyed our short stay and would use it again - particularly for its position near Pza.Garibaldi and its transport hubs.

We luckily stayed here only one night, out of 6 hotels we stayed in in italy , this one was by far the worst value for money. the rooms were very small and the breakfast was horrible. the only plus was the fact that it was very close to the train station, and we arrived after a nine hour train journey. so if you want somewhere to crash for one night, maybe consider staying at this hotel, otherwise give it a miss.

Garden Hotel is well situated. It is within walking distance to many main interest areas, the station, and there are many shops on the doorstep. We had a comfortable double bed (not 2 singles pushed together as was common in many of the hotels we stayed in while in Europe). It was a quiet room with a bar fridge, small but very clean and newly renovated bathroom, and largish t.v. The service was good - on arrival we were offered a map of the area and information about where and when of attractions. Good air conditioning. Breakfast was cereal, bread, croissants, jam, meat, cheese, tea, coffee and juice. There is a pub/bar next door with outdoor seating and friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this hotel to people looking for 3 star accommodation in Rome. It is good value for money.

This is a small hotel which offers exceptional value for money. The rooms provide a superb prospect of Naples, particularly those on the top floor, which are equiped with a roof terrace. All rooms are air conditioned: essential in the Summer heat. Having a bad back, I found the bed firm and supportive. Breakfast was adequate, although the coffee was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. The area is often criticised because of its down-at-heel character; but this is essential Naples: chaotic, human, lived in. It is also close to the historic centre bordered by Via Tribunali (home of Di Matteo's fine pizzas) and Spaccanapoli. I have visited Naples annually for the past 15 years and don't find the area around Piazza Garibaldi particularly threatening. Maybe I've been lucky! Around the corner from the hotel (away from the Piazza Garibaldi end),is a street market selling clothes, household items and fruit/veg. The hotel is a five minute walk from the railway ststion. There bare plenty of eateries in the vicinity. I will definitely use this hotel on my next visit.

A good hotel that could so easily be excellent. Clean, comfortable and quiet (with the windows closed), with friendly staff (all speaking some English, some very well), however a few small maintenance issues let it down for us. Primary amongst these was the catches for holding the shutters had pulled out of the wall, so unless we had them closed (and the room dark) they would bang in the wind. Oh, and breakfast on the ordinary side. Still recommended, but could have been better. Get a quote from your taxi driver for the trip from the airport - ours was 40 euro, which is probably too much.

Really a 2-star hotel, with not much to distinguish it. The room was clean but a bit worn. Breakfast was basic (though in a room with a good view). The location is very noisy and fairly dirty (usually graffiti, etc. doesn't both me, but there is lots of litter, people sleeping on the sidewalk, etc.). We used it as a base for traveling to Pompeii -- it's very easy to catch the Circumvesuviana from here. If we had it to do over agin, however, we would stay in a deifferent area.

No problems with this hotel, it served our purpose - my wife and i decided to stay in Naples and use this hotel as a base for day trips down the coast due to its close proximity to the Garibaldi station. On the first night we asked the Hotel Desk where we could get a meal and were advised not to go outside at night - so we ordered in Pizza. We did end up going out following nights and didn't strike any trouble - just be aware always. The staff were hospitable and friendly throughout. If I were to stay in Naples again I'd stay in the Mergellina or Santa Lucia area they offer a totally different perspective to Naples. Having said that it is a must to check out old Naples, it really is an eye opener - particularly down the Via del Tribunali and surrounds. If visiting the coast again I will likely use Sorrento as a base. Great value hotel, with the slightly better than usual italian breakfast - and great coffee!

We would use the hotel again. We landed at Naples airport late at night and found all buses on strike and blocking the city with a rolling blockade. The taxi was hugely delayed so we did not begrudge him 25 euros which is higher than usual. Yes the area is seedy but we found restaurants of satisfactory quality and were pleased that the hotel was near to the main Garibaldi Square Railway Station where you can board the Cicumvesuviana trains for Pompei, Herculaneum and Sorrento. Breakfast was plain but very adequate although in a cold February the outside terrace was not in use. Staff spoke varying amounts of English. The hotel reception is at ground level but most of the accommodation seems to be on the top floor. The street outside carries heavy traffic but with the double glazed windows closed we slept well. For a large Italian city we thought that the hotel represented value for money.

This hotel is a pleasant enough place for a short stay even though it is in a very crowded part of the city near the main train station. (The whole city is pretty crowded, anyway, so that's probably not unusual.) The rooms are as quiet as they can possibly be in a busy part of the city (mainly because the hotel is on the sixth and seventh floors of the building), and they're very spacious and always very clean. We thought that the room was very neat and clean. The shower seemed to leak all over the floor due to a bad seal. The bathroom air freshener was a bit overpowering. The breakfast was nice one day, but we got very cold coffee on the second day. There was not a lot to do in the area because of the holiday season, but we did enjoy looking out from our balcony especially during a lightning storm.

Et poden robar a qualsevol gran ciutat, no sent Napols una excepció. recomano fortament tant l'hotel com la ciutat. English: Simple but very correct hotel, with very helpful employees. It's not true that, the zone is dangerous or problematical, is just like another big city. Steal problems could happen in all big cities, and in Naples could happen too. I reccomend strongly both hotel and city

Thanks for the opportunity to stay at the Garden. I was very pleased with the hotel, particularly because of the convenience of the location.

I picked this place after reading tons of reviews at VENERE. And it was worth to spend so much time finding this hideout in the very wild city of naples. Try to get the rooms on 7th floor having a terrace with a spectacular view on the plaza and the city (its fun to observe the traffic and count the accidents which happen hourly on the plaza beneath).

Nice hotel- clean, friendly but perhaps a little on the basic side. Breakfast really not up to much- but excellent coffee. Fabulous views of naples from the rooms; fairly quiet ( as naples goes), but also quite a walk/bus ride/cab journey to all the interesting bits. Good links by bus though, as bus stop is very close to hotel. Also very close to airport and famous market.....

Hotel und Preis sind i.O. ohne wesentliche Einschränkungen. Lärmbelästigung trotz Stadtmitte überraschend gering. Aussicht über die Stadt gigantisch. Hotel ist zu empfehlen.

We had a wonderful stay at the Garden. The rooms were great, breakfast was wonderful, and everyone was very friendly. The front desk personnel were especially helpful and informative. I can highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again--in fact, when we returned to Naples later in our vacation, we headed straight for the Garden.

What a treat to arrive after a tiring journey to find everything exactly as described. Everything immaculately clean.

BUONA PERMANENZA!!!

A clean, organized and welcoming hotel. The Garden was a jewel in a difficult area of Napoli. We statyed in a quad for one night. Aside from some squeeks from the bed fames the room was excellent. The staff was very helpful and even kept our bags while we visited Pompei. We retreived the bags around 14:00 and continued with our journey north from the central train station just a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
