This simple hostel was my best hostel in Italy. Rooms are small, quite old fashioned, but all works great! The room was clean, I had a nice bed, simple but good breakfast, open wifi with fast internet all over the hostel... But to me the best thing was the staff: they gave me maps and good indications of nice places to go, there was always someone in the desk (24h) to help. The staff is REALLY helpful (special thanks to Sebastiano).

I´d choose this location again. If you want a hotel close to the historic city you will have to cope with the noise of the town, it´s never really quiet there.

We booked this hotel the day before we arrived Naples. The emplyees were welcoming and she gave me a cent in order to let us use the elevator. The room we stayed was small but queit. The breakfast was very good. A little bit far from the main train station on foot. If you took the metro, there would also take a long time to walk with your luggage. But the best pizza resturant is not far from the hotel.

I found this hotel delightful. It is very central, the building itself is lovely and the staff were brilliant. One of my group had the unfortunate experience of having her handbag snatched and thanks to the hotel staff, it was as painless as an experience as the circumstances allowed. I would certainly stay in this hotel again.

Vicino al Museo MADRE, prossimo al centro di Napoli in una zona più napoletana che turistica. Close to MADRE Museum, close to the center of Naples in an area that is more close to the popular heart of the city than to tourism.

We only stayed one night - so the hotel was OK for us. It was clean and the breakfast was sufficient. However, the room was smaller than anticipated and also not quite what we expected from a three star rating. It was on the second floor of what looked like a normal residential building and did not stand out as a hotel unless you happened to look up and see the flags.

We stayed in a double bedroom facing the courtyard that was quiet. The breakfast was ample. I don't understand why some other raters have commented that it wasn't. They give you as much as you want. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Yes you do need 5 cents for the elevator, but if you ask they will give you coins for the elevator. Also you only need the coins M-F 7 to 7. The street Via Duomo is a major road that was quite safe and close to the metro station, 5 minutes walk tops. It is helpful to know a little Italian, but that is true throughout Southern Italy and is increasingly not a big deal since so many Italians have caved and learned English.

The location is excellent, close to a metro stop, the Archeology Museum, and the Centro Storico. There are good places to eat nearby and the surrounding area was active and seemed safe. The breakfast provided was smaller than at other comparable hotels that we stayed at.

Cost 5 cents to use the elevator - not a problem except on first arrival since the hotel provided the coins. Hotel should provide keys to the front door rather than relying on the hotel staff to operate them.

The hotel was lovely and immaculate inside. The room they gave us was right near the breakfast room, so it was very noisy in the morning. We had a problem with the toilet which we had to live with for two days before they changed our room. The breakfast was disappointing even for a condtinental breakfast. The service was excellent. The neighborhood shuts down by 20 00 hours and I did not feel safe walking around.

For a busy, tourist city centre hotel, once inside Hotel Artiste the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The external appearance, and stair case of the palazzo was a little seedy, but once on the 1st floor, and inside the hotel itself it was clean & well maintained ... and the smell of the breakfast pastries was delicious. Good recommendation from reception staff regarding restaurants too. Our young children were welcome, and we were given adjacent rooms. We were even given the option of changing our booking to a cheaper, 4 person room if we wanted.

The hotel has very friendly staff and is located in a great spot for seeing the historic centre of Naples, also handy for public transport from Piazza Cavour. The area feels safe, and Naples is a very stimulating city. The staff will direct you to a couple of good, cheap restaurants. Breakfast was pretty ordinary, but the rooms are clean, and surprisingly quiet, if you ask for a room on the courtyard. Free internet is a great bonus. Overall, very good value for money. The hotel is not easy to see from the street. It's at no. 61,Via Duomo, behind a large courtyard door. If the door is shut, ring the bell for the hotel and they'll buzz you in. Then go through the courtyard to the lift, 5c will take you to the hotel reception on the first floor.
