The trendy Clarean hotel, open since September 2004, is ideally situated in the heart of Naples, between the Central Station, the city's business district and the historic centre, which is easily accessed via one of Europe's most beautiful city-gates, Porta Capuana.
The city-centre, the harbour and the city's most important museums can all be quickly and easily accessed thanks to the many bus lines available just metres from the structure.
The brand new hotel, featuring warm and inviting interiors decorated in natural materials and a splendid view over Piazza Garibaldi, provides an ideal base for both business and leisure travelers.

Hotel Reviews Clarean

I'll keep good memories of the hotel and of my trip in Napoli and surroundings, even if the location is not so good. But it is just what make Clarean so cheap and affordable! I recommend this hotel for anyone who wants much for little money.

This is just a perfect place to start a journey of Naples and its surrounding area. Great price/quality ratio. It will satisfy those looking for a reasonably-priced true *** hotel. It may sometimes get tricky if you come upon an non English-speaking employee, but it should not cause problems.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Noise was not a problem but our room was not facing the main square. Friendly and helpful staff. Location was very convenient next to the station and the airport bus. The surrounding area was average but still felt safe walking around at night. Perfect location for day trips. Common areas were fine but minimal. Breakfast was average at best. Overall was a great value for the price and would definitely stay at again.

The hotel is in good condition, photographs are a bit generous to say the least of area.To be fair they are building a metro system,so things are not at there best.Good value for and suited our stay over purpose.

Be very careful of the scam artists operating just outside this hotel - they will offer to sell you really cheap laptops etc, then switch laptop for salt/cardboard (we bought 2 bags of salt for 50euros!). The hotel managers were great when we realised how stupid we'd been & kept a watchful eye out for my husband when he tried to retrieve his money. Location is good for an overnight stay if you're catching an early flight out as right next to the bus station, otherwise I would probably stay in a slightly better location.

A very good hotel well placed near the railway station. Easy the acess to the historical centre of Naples. Competence of employees. We only did not appreciate the very poor breakfast. We stayed three nights.

This hotel is very convenient for travellers coming into town via Alibus from the airport. The bus stops practically opposite the entrance. The staff were unfailingly welcoming and helpful, and the stylish premises are terrific value for money. The area is notoriously shabby, but hey! If you want to eat in another district, and feel unsafe about travelling back here at night, just get a taxi. Ask a Naples-stamped taxi for 'Tarifa Predeterminata', and hey presto, they'll issue a printed receipt with the set rate for your trip clearly marked in advance. OK, you'll have to endure Neapolitan roadsmanship, but if you want a restful break, why on earth are you going to Naples? We thoroughly recommend the Clarean! -And Naples!

Hotel is nice and clean, bathroom is new as well as the rooms. We would recommend the hotel if you want two stay just for a few days and if you want the busses and the tube nearby. Price is good. Problems: There is a great bus-station just in front of the hotel and it is very, very noisy if you open the windows. If you close the window and only use the air condition, the noise is ok. The breakfast was okay, but not that good and the staff hardly speaks english.

We found this hotel to be very convenient for a late arrival and an early departure from Naples. The hotel was very nice and clean, though the rooms a little small. The only complaint we had is that we had to go back down and ask for the air conditioning remote control (they did not automatically provide it to us). We also found the area around the station to be much better than we expected based on other reviews - no one bothered us on the street.

The Clarean is in a perfect location for day trips to Vesuvius, Ercolano and Pompeii. It is also close to the hubbub of central Naples (albeit the more crazy-driving, pavement-less parts). Unfortunately whilst the hotel advertises itself as having 17 sound-proofed rooms this is not the case. The P. Garibaldi onto which the hotel faces is quite noisy but it is the incessant beeping of the hotel's lift that guests will find most annoying (particularly as it goes off every five minutes at all hours of the day and night). Our first night (of 3) was spent in one of the rooms looking out onto the Piazza and it was noisy. However, we asked to change to one of the 'interior' rooms and it was a revelation; more space, more furniture, a bath and a balcony (room 110 if anyone is interested). My girlfriend and I went to the Clarean as a previous reviewer said the breakfast was good for the price. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great either, the service was poor and it's a terrible space in which to start your day. If the Clarean paid a bit more attention to service and actually sound-proofed the rooms this would be a great little hotel in which to stay in the centre/east of Naples.

relatively good hotel, modern, clean and comfortable, located near central station on a very crowdy, dirty, unsafe and noisy large square. It is only practical to take a train to Pompei and other sites.

This hotel is excellent value for money, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious with a good specification of furniture. The breakfast is waht you would expect in italy. The square is busy and what you should expect from an area outside a train station. But it is go for travelling by train and is only a 15 minute walk to the centre. Naples is really busy and interesting city. Would definately go back to Naples!!

The website stated private parking. It wasn't private. It was open and unprotected. The hotel receptionist advised us to use a private closed parking instead of theirs! We paid 9 euro for every 24 hours. Get a receipt from the parking each time you pay, unless you want to pay double the price like us! Hotels employees we met didn't know English!

The Clarean was clean and comfortable. The hotel overlooks a very busy piazza and Mt. Versuvius. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had read some negative reviews of Naples and booked only 1 night. However Naples is a very vibrant city with many crowded markets and stunning views. We never felt uncomfortable and regret not staying longer.

The mark on the map ("Location") of Piazza Garibaldi shows that the hotel is located on the side opposite to the train station (west side). However the hotel is located on the north side of the Piazza Garibaldi.

Hemos pasado 5 noches (12-17 mayo).

very sleezy area, unsafe if a girl alone right next to the train station, which was a plus I'd find another place if I had to do it again actually, I wouldn't stay in Naples if I had to do it again!

My friends and I like this hotel so much. The room is not large, but very cute and well decorated. The staff is helpful and friendly. Since this hotel is very near to the railway station, it's quite convenient for travellers who take train.

My only criticism is that there was no luggage room - however, the staff stored our luggage safely in the reception area.

Naples is a disaster. the help was very uninformed, and not up to the standards i've met throughout europe or with ANY OTHER of the properties you have booked for me.

While the hotel's fixtures and fittings were nicely done, there were a couple of major complaints; having visited towards the middle of October the air-conditioning was not turned on so the rooms were hot enough to require opening the window. The Piazza outside is extremely noisy, no problem with the windows closed but impossible to sleep with the windows open. Also, despite signs saying 'no smoking' the entire hotel and all the bedrooms smell of smoke, which I and my children found offensive. However, if you are in Naples in order to visit the sites (Pompeii etc) then the location next to the train station is very convenient - and we did not find the city in any way threatening. Dirty, chaotic - yes - but full of life and very welcoming as well.

It is a very good price and we had a lovely room with high ceilings and wooden beams. Location on a busy square, which isn't the nicest at night, but very close to the metro and train station. Would definately recommend this, particularly for a short stop over.

The location was just perfect for our one night stay as it was very close to the train station. Everything was as good as described on their site. We were surprised that they had a concern with us taking pizza to our room, but were subsequently allowed.

This is a little tricky to spot out because the sign is small and it is sandwiched in between other businesses. It looks recently renovated and is very clean. The rooms are charming and the location is good if traveling by car, train or bus. It is a short walk down from the station. There is public pay parking directly outside the hotel or you can pay for garage parking which varies by the type or size of car. The breakfast was limited, but the pastries were the best we had in Italy.

¥The point which was good. An employee's feeling is fine. A movement is convenient because it is near from the station. The inside is large and beautiful. ¥The point which was poor. Noise from the corridor and noise from the outside. The thing that the light bulb of the room burned out and a shower broke. It is EEE (Though it can be sent for one day and it is it, that is Italy.) though correspondence was good because a light bulb was brought soon and a shower was repaired, too.

unici nei: la posizione (piazza Garibaldi non è proprio uno splendore) e la colazione (un po' approssimativa). a parte questo, senz'altro da consigliare per la pulizia e la comodità ai servizi.

This was our first night in Italy over our 2 weeks honeymoon. It was very clean, new and beautiful. Loved our room. The only down side was that there weren't lots of guests so we didn't have a big breakfast like most other busy hotels. It is not really a down side as the food they offered was still very nice. Will stay there again for sure.

It is a really nice hotel, very clean with very friendly reception and staff. It is perfectly situated, just a minute walk from central rail stattion. It is a good place to start trips (bus, metro, train, tram). You need not worry about noise from the streets because of double (almost) sound-proof windows. Other 3AM guests might rather be :-) . Although breakfast is basic, Clarean proved to be great choice for first timers in Naples. Really worth its *** rating!
