The hotel was as described. My only 2 complaints were the initial welcoming and the hotel sheets. I had prepaid the one night stay and when we arrived the woman checking us in did not believe me when I said we had paid. Twice she told me we did not, and twice I told her we had and showed her the confirmation. She did not apologize or even act contrite. I also asked for change so I could tip the bellhop and said she did not have any. Second small complaint were the sheets which felt like rough paper. The size of the room was good and the bathroom was large.

Had a large room, a bit dated, overlooking the beautiful castle and harbor, very convenient to walking along the bay and to the ferries although you'll need a taxi with luggage. Reception staff could have been friendlier and the breakfast service was poor as we had to wait a long time to get our coffee and most of the tables were not cleared. Was our base hotel for 3 days to visit Pompeii, Mt Vesuvius, and Ischia islands. Nice enough but could improve the service to be even better.

Front staffs are not helpful and unkind. Even when checking out, they did not say anything to salute properly. They seem to be arrogant because of five star prestige of the hotel. The toilette door was contacting the floor to stick.

The relationship, between quality and price is good, is good with the price with discount, but not the original price

Just what we expected based on previous venere.com comments. Great location. Rooms and furnishings are a little dated, but we had a very spacious sea facing room on a corner with plenty of space including a nice sitting room. The bathroom is spacious, modern and clean. Sheets were clean and crisp. Breakfast has numerous choices was the seatin area was pleasant and full of light/windows. We thought the price/value proposition, especially with the "deal" we got through venere.com. The view of Naples Bay from our room was knock-out great. We ate at a nice restaurant/good value around the corner, and there appear to be several attractive dining options across the street on a small space on the Bay. We would stay here again all things considered. A clock in the room and internet access in the rooms would add to the experience.

stayed here for 6 days, good location, however somebody had entered our room while we were at breakfast on the first morning and had opened curtains and shutters on balcony door, yet when asked who and why the manager could give us no explanation (it was not house keeping).no tea making facilities in room and a cup of tea was 4 euros, other refreshments way over priced, no iron available and charges to iron items for you where very expensive, the free wifi was rubbish and could only be picked up if sat next to reception, some staff helpful other played the language barrier card. all in all nice location, very expensive, don't take valuables and have your witts about you at all times.

Excellent position, the road on the front of the Hotel is for pedestrians only, it was very quite and relaxing and actually not very far from the Historic center. The services provided from the reception was very poor in comparison with the excellent condition of the Hotel for instance we asked for "rent a car" leafelet and they did not have any, they suggested the worst tour operator for Pompei (Visit Naples)I think,we spent 2 hours in filthy touristic shops outside Pompei,1 hour waiting for the guide,1,5 hour for a very poor lunch included in the price and a tour to Hercolanum without guideso we lost one day for only 1H and 45 min guided tour in Pompei.

This was our second stay as we had spent a night prior to our stay in Capri. The staff is by far the most accomodating of all hotels. The concierge, Marius, as well as others at the hotel went to the end of the world to provide unmatched services. I recommend this hotel most highly and I do so as the result of their service and commitment to guests. THE VERY BEST in all areas. Caroline Arcuri and Valerie Dunn

Very nice hotel. We had two rooms ("Deluxe") with a beautiful direct view on the sea, at the 1st and 2nd floor respectively. The 2nd floor room was actually better, as larger and having two windows instead of one. Comfortable, international standards. Price was €245/night incl bkfst on average over the 5 last days of the year; can't if it is cheap or dear. Service was nice & helpful. Hotel can help with renting a car, finding restaurants, and so on. No international press. Very nice restaurants in the small marina in front of hotel, aside Castel del Uovo. Taxi station at 20 meters from hotel, always many cars waiting. Had a very nice time indeed.

We had a very comfortable stay, the staff were very helpful and competent. The food was excellent. The road was a little noisy but was manageable and inevitable from the position on Via Partenope. We would happily stay there again and recommend the hotel highly.

The Grand Hotel Santa Lucia is wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a better location--directly across from the Castel dell'Ovo and Borgo Marina. The view from our room's balcony was fantastic. The taxi lineup is on the corner, as is a bank. A dozen excellent restaurants are just a few blocks away. The Porto di Napoli, with boats to Capri and Sorrento, is an easy 1-mile walk. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was small but elegantly furnished. The complimentary breakfast was a full breakfast with eggs, vegetables, ham, pastries, fresh fruit, cereal and more. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. And the price we got through Venere.com was such a deal! We were thoroughly pleased with the service, the hotel and the location. A few tips for first-time travelers to Naples: Be prepared to spend a lot on nice meals and taxis. Banks close at 4:30 p.m. and are not open on weekends, so plan for that. US dollars are not accepted most places. Restaurant tips can't be added to credit card charges; you have to tip in Euros, so have plenty on hand. The change kiosk at the airport charged a whopping 17.5% fee, so avoid those. And be sure to visit the Castel dell'Ovo for incredible views of Mt. Vesuvius and the bay.

Very nice hotel, well located (in front of the sea, not so far from downtown). We had been upgraded, in a senior suite on the top floor. A very good choice to stay in Napoli for a long week-end.

I was given a very large room on the top floor, with a very small veranda overlooking the bay of Naples. It was a very room, with a large LCD screen tv that I barely used but it was pretty nice. The breakfast was quite good and included in the price of the room. Service was very good. My only gripe is with the high prices charged for the internet access. It seems to be some weird trend that the nicer the hotel, the more expensive the internet access. Cheaper/simpler hotels are now differentiating themselves by offering this for free. Beyond that, I highly recommend this place, although I do think that I got a very nice room since it was not yet the high season.

the hotel was very good quality. However the air conditioning was a constant irritation and the room never cooled well. the hotel staff was not aware of an open-air tour bus that was within 15 minutes walking distance of the hotel. I highly recommend this service. I would have taken all tours if I had found it earlier. It is located adjacent to the New Castle near the Port.
