Grand Hotel Europa - Sea Hotels is an ancient Murolo-Pisano mansion, dating back to the 19th century. The Vanvitellian style of the building reminds the amazing Royal Palace facade. It is situated a short walk from the historical centre of Naples, the Directional centre district, the central railway station and the subway.
Many interesting places are just at walking distance from the hotel, such as the San Carlo opera theatre, the Umberto I gallery and the Royal Palace of Naples.
Flowers, plants and paintings decorate the public areas. The hotel offers a restaurant, La Grande Abbuffata, a bar and meeting halls from 15 up to 100 seats. All the public areas feature a Wi-Fi Internet connection.

It was very reasonable for the price you pay. people are friendly and rooms are clean. I do recommend this hotel. breakfast was not that complete.

The location of the hotel was in front of the train station, so not very nice. We stayed in Naples for the prices but regreted not paying a little extra for Sorrento, or somewhere nicer. The rooms were clean, kind of stinky, and small, unlike what the pictures showed. Upon check in there were no rooms ready yet and we had to wait 2 hours to go to our room, after a long day, it was kind of inconvienient.

Denisa Anghel Romania

I had booked a single room for one night and a double for another, because my wife would arrive a day later. They gave me a double room from the begining. The hotel is nice, but the area of Napoli Centrale is really awful, although very convenient if you don't have car. Don't be afraid of people, just pay attention like in any other big city. Hotel breakfast is fine and dinner for Euros 14 too (starter, main course and dessert). Room quite clean and very spacious, with Tv, internet connection and frigobar. Take the Corcumvesuviana (train) to Pompeii and Ercolano in Napoli Centrale (but no in TrenItalia Biglietterie). And see the coast if you can.

Stayed here 17/9/07 for one night. Room 210. Paid 85 Euro prpn B&B. Located just a few minutes walk from the main railway station, ideal for us as this was just a quick stop during travelling, and not as run down as one might expect form a station area. A standard hotel with good facilities, but nothing memorable, suitable for our purpose. Arrived at 9.00 pm and we were able to eat in the hotel restaurant, which avoided needing to go out late. Good buffet breakfast, included, started at 7.00 which is convenient for an early start to visit Pompeii / Herculaneum / Vesuvius. You need a few days to see Naples, and another day for Vesuvius and Herculaneum, and another full day for Pompeii. Early starts are useful for these out of city locations, all are easily accessible on the Circumvesuviana railway, but note that for the past two years Pompeii has often opened a few hours late due to ‘staff meetings’. We used Donna Regina as more interesting accommodation when staying longer a week later.

The hotel is very near the naples central station. very convience, but that area many theft there. i lost 300euro in the train station! ... the staff not very nice , when i ask for the location, i feel they dont want to tell me, the breakfast is not enough, anyway i dont wanna to stay again!

Spent two nights at the Grand Hotel Europa. The Hotel is conveniently located a block from the Stazione Centrale in gritty central Naples. The hotel features a Mediterranian decor throughout. Our room was clean, comfortable and compact. The staff was courteous, professional and multi-lingual.

We were quite unsure of what to expect of Naples due to the fact or the negative comments you hear about Naples but Naples was one of the highlights of our trip. We are glad we stayed in naples rather than sorrento, etc. We got to see more of the locals. The hotel was well situated, 100 to 200 metres from the train station, which was ideal for us because we used the train alot. We found the best restaurant in the whole of our 5 1/2 wks trip to italy. It was 2 streets down from the hotel and they offered 3 course meal for 7 euro with 1/2 vino as well. The food was fantastic - never could find anything to compare. The hotel meet our needs and was close to the train.

Excellent base for Naples/Pompeii/Vesuvius/Herculaneum. Hotel was just five minute walk from train station/metro/circumvesuviana and tourist office. Staff were miserable and rarely smiled and although everyone warned against staying around the station we females felt no fear. Truly a great value hotel with a good breakfast to boot!

Grand Hotel was the best part of our 4 night stay in Naples. We moved out of a double room in a hostel on the waterfront to this hotel, and it was cheaper and much better value for money!! Dont be concerned about the train station location, we felt safe in the hotel. It was very clean, easy to find and very comfortable. You certainly need a nice, clean hotel in Napoli and this was excellent value for money. Nice breakfast included.

The Hotel is close to the Central Train Station and many bus terminals at Piazza Garibaldi, which is very useful. On the other hand, Piazza Garibaldi is a noisy and confused place and full of beggars, vigarists and pickpockets. It was very difficult to find the Hotel. The map presented in their website was not helpful at all. The best thing is to look for the Central Train Station as a reference to get out of the Piazza.

Just in Naples for one night and thought this hotel was fine for the job. The staff were a bit painful to deal with but the room was good and clean. Hotel is very close to the station which is both good and bad. Good for convenience. Bad for the state of the area - disgusting. Would recommend but on a short-stay basis. Go as far away from the station as possible if you're there for longer.

We were very happy with the hotel and its employees. The only drawback is that it is located across the street from the main train station, and there are a large amount of scary people roaming the streets all the time. It is extremely dirty outside, due to the homeless people everywhere. It was quite an adventure to walk to the place where our tour picked us up! However, we were able to have dinner delivered to the hotel, tours arranged from the front desk, and all questions were answered cheerfully and efficiently.

This is a wonderfully situated hotel for exploring Naples. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our triple room was very spacious and the air conditioning was wonderful! The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was also quite good in comparison to most places that we have stayed in Europe. However, the coffee was bad, as it is in most hotels in Europe. Not a major problem. The hotel is near the bus terminal which is not the best area, but we never felt unsafe (two women with two children). The staff helped give directions, call for a taxi, and they were very welcoming and competent. I highly recommend this hotel!

We missed our connection from Milan to Naples, so we didn't get to check in until 8:00 a.m. on the day of our reservation. The desk was accommodating in letting us check in, have a shower, eat breakfast and check out by 12:00. Area is a little sketchy, as any immediate area by a train station would be, but we felt fine in the daylight. We would stay here again for a 1 or 2 night stint.

Buon giorno fellow travellers, After reading a lot of Hotel reviews on Napoli I was a bit worried about reaching this Hotel late at night (22.00hrs) I was led to believe the surrounding Area ressembled Baghdad, However We boarded a Taxi from the Airport & 10 Mins later we arrived at the Hotels main entrance (Taxi 25 Euro) Not 1 RPG in sight, We encountered No problems whatsoever and the Taxi driver & Hotel staff spoke good enough English, They were still serving dinner downstairs so we even managed to get something to eat, 22.30PM last orders, Quality food, The Room itself (Twin beds, En suite, Air con, TV) was clean but very small & with no view, but as we were staying for 1 night only it didn't really matter as Bari was beckoning us, Breakfast was nice with lots of choices & the service was 1st Class, The surrounding Area in the morning was safe & very busy with the locals living the Napoli life, The Stazione di Treno was just a 10 minute walk from the Hotel which was very handy for us, So would I use this hotel again? Yes I would, go for it. Ciao Grazie Grand Hotel Europa Starry la Scozia

Grand Hotel Europa is like an oasis in the desert. The area near the Centrale train station is colorful, to say the least. The triple room had three twin beds - not what we were expecting. Staff was helpful with fair English and we were able to borrow a nearby wireless connection for Internet access, rather than using an Internet point. We would stay there again if we stayed in Naples.

This is our third visit in less than two years: we like the hotel for the quality of the rooms, the service, and, in general, the relative quietness of the places (keeping in mind that the hotel is very close to the main train station). We find it very conveniently located for visiting the archaeological sites: Pompeii and Herculaneum and even Pozzuoli and Baia. Rooms are conveniently priced. The restaurant, which we tried for the first time, serves good meals but is somewhat overpriced. All together, we highly recommend this hotel.

Fine Hotel, good location close to train station and about a 30 minute walk into Naples centre. The general area at night is not very welcoming so it's best to stay close. I had a single room in this hotel. The room was nicely decorated with some antique-like accessories (e.g. lamps). It was also well-equipped (with air-conditioner, TV, hair dryer etc.). So, I would recommend it to young couple or single traveller.

Very good hotel! Although they should make sure nobody smokes in the rooms. Our room was occupied by a smoker before we arrived. We had to deal with the smell of cigarette for the first day. Other than that, everything was great! A great place to stay and at that price, it's a steal! Oh, and don't pay attention to all the other people who said the neiborghood was scary. There's are few homeless people staying in front of the train station because they're waiting for food. Some organization brings them food over there. So all they do is stay there and wait. They are not dangerous by any means.

This hotel is extremely practical due to its proximity to the Naples central tranin station. The room was very clean and actually nicer than expected, with a hand-painted mural on th wall behind the bed. Breakfast was included and was satisfying. However, the major disadvantage of this hotel is the neighborhood it is in. At night, the Piazza Garibaldi becomes a very scary place, so either don't leave the hotel at night or take a taxi.

We arrived at the train station late at night. Taxi drivers offered to take us to our hotel and when they found out that we were going to walk they were not very cooperative in giving directions to the hotel. Five adults pulling luggage at night in downtown Naples is not very smart. (you could not tell we were tourists at all!) A kind taxi driver who I guess saw our frustration asked us where we were going and directed us to the hotel. The hotel is walking distance and not far but at night and not knowing the area it is a bit scarry. The hotel was good and very clean. The hotel guest services staff were very kind and helpfull. The next day we had a good breakfast (Meats, Croisants, Cheeses, Coffee, Cereal and fruits) then took a taxi to the port and a ferry to Capri. We had a wonderfull day there. The following day we hired a taxi for the day and he took us to the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Salerno and Sorrento. Amalfi was the most beautiful experience of our trip. We would stay at the Europa again. Suggestion: Get a good map or get directions to the hotel before leaving the station, especially at night.

The Europa hotel was one of the better places we came across in Naples except for a wonderful restaurant that treated us like family by the third day called "La Fila". We found Naples to be a very dirty and dangerous city. There were no cross walks so you had to run across the street like a Frogger game and hope of the best. The high lights were our day trips to Capri and Pompeii. These places were the most amazing of all of Italy that we saw. The hotel did have a nice breakfast that had meat and cheese with croissants. I might consider coming back to the Europa if I ever dare to brave Naples again.

This hotel was a haven of peace, safety and cleanliness in the chaotic, noisy and dirty surroundings. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this city. The service was excellent and being able to eat good food in the restaurant in the evenings was a real bonus as we did not think it was safe to go out after dark. The surrounding area of the hotel was very rough and dirty and you would be wise not to walk alone or to carry a handbag. We used body belts under our clothes and we were ok, but another guest had her handbag stolen from her after being in the city for 10 minutes.

As the hotel was near to Naples station it could be noisy if you are at the front of the hotel, however the hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel but you must bear in mind that the hotel is located within 300 metres of a main railway station so the location may be a bit intimidating, but no more so then if you stayed in a hotel within 300 metres of Liverpool Street Station or Victoria station in London.

A very nice hotel in very seedy area, be careful which way you go out of hotel. Very close to station which is a very seedy area. We walked around most of Naples and never found a nice area. Don't be put off by the location of this hotel. The hotel staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and of a good size. The breakfasts was wonderfuly - cereal, fruit, meats cheese, yoghurt, etc. This hotel is so convenient to get around Naples, as it's close to the train, bus and metro, so no need for a taxi - which would be pointless around Naples anyway, as there is so much congestion with the amount of traffic. Napoli is wonderful city! With this cheap price, I can stay wonderful hotel for two days with breakfast buffet! Definitely very good 3 star hotel, I guess. Near the central station of Napoli, first time I worried that I've heard this area is very dangerous place in Italy, especially at night. But This hotel is very near by the train station, You can run within 2 min if you feel danger. And there is not so dangerous looking. Room is great, beside the road, it's very quiet. Very spaceful room and bathroom, with bath. Breakfast was soso, but fruits possible. I will go Napoli again, and I will stay again that hotel.

Great deal for what you get! Good location to the train station and to catch buses to get to the port. Very helpful and friendly staff; even let us keep our bags there for the day before we checked in that night, while we went to Capri. Room was spacious and had A/C!! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful; great way to start the day.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel but the surroundings, although right next to the main railway station, were crowded, dirty and felt threatening and unsafe. Just a short distance away, near the Historic Quarter, I very nearly had my camera stolen by a scooter pillion passenger. Be very, very careful. The hotel itself was excellent in all respects except for breakfast which was chaotic. The staff didn't keep the buffet topped up and finding a table with a full set of cutlery, etc was impossible. Our room overlooked an internal courtyard, so there wasn't a view, and it was noisy at times - but then this is Italy!! We were pleased that the Bar and Restaurant were so good as it meant we didn't have to go out in the evenings, and we are experienced travellers. As a base to view the surrounding areas - Pompeii, Sorrento, etc - the hotel is really well placed.

The hotel offers reasonable service. Given its location, the surrounding areas are quite rough. It will serve fine if you just want to arrive late, stay somewhere over, and quickly depart in the morning. However, it is very far to the historic centre of Naples to walk (if you dare to walk, especially on Sunday, when there is no police presence in the streets).

Very nice hotel. Staff very helpfull and friendly. Hotel nice and clean, close to termini station. The small problem that we had was that the booking was not in their computer on arrival. They solved it very quickly and we had a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was better then Italians are used to. In this hotel we will come back next time visiting Napoli. We recommend this hotel to anyone!

The property location is too closw to "skid row" of the train station. I have never seen so much drug activity, street-sleepers, pickpockets, pee'ed on sidewalks, & strange people in one place. This is not a good area to walk alone at night!! The hotel definitely doesn't match it's location - the accomodations are lovely. The location is BAD!!

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Europa three years ago and when I returned this summer I was greeted warmly by an employee whom I remembered from my previous stay. I was treated then and again this year with great hospitality and helpfulness. This is probably the best value in all of Europe. Excellent service and a breakfast buffet that is outstanding. The location is excellent for travel within Naples or surrounding areas. Wonderful pizzeria just a few blocks away. Don't let the outward appearance of the surrounding area (near the railroad station) put you off. It is a great hotel.

Although the surroundings are not great, the hotel is in a very convenient location, within easy walking distance of the train station and several restaurants. The breakfast included in the price, was especially good with a large variety of foods to choose from.

We stayed here for 1 night in February. The hotel is very convenient if you are using the train station, as we were. The hotel staff were very polite and accomodating. The room was quite narrow, but nicely decorated especially the shower room which was very nice. Our 11 year old son liked sleeping in the mezzanine level which was quite a novelty. Breakfast was good, eaten in a small basement room. On departure we were given a free bag and cap! We would definately stay there again if staying in Naples.

The hotel is right behind the McDonalds at the central station which makes it ideal to get around Naples. I really liked this hotel as it is worth more stars than it is given and the costumer service was really good. Even at midnight when I requested an iron they were able to accomodate me. The breakfast there is really good with croissants made fresh and hot and a good selection of breakfast items, and of course espresso etc. The rooms are very clean and spacious and the shower has excellent water pressure. The also have PayTV and a few regular English channels.

Excellent location for short stay adjacent to station. Clean, well managed and although the neighbourhood (and Naples) might be an initial shock to some it was perfectly suitable

Clean rooms, adequate breakfast, indifferent staff. Hotel in seedy area, not suitable for wandering at night. Nowhere to eat of an evening , hotel staff not willing to recommend anywhere. Good for access to rail and bus travel - this was it's saving grace!
